Not a Good Headline

You hate to see this:
Ouch:
  • A man was killed in the Grand Crossing neighborhood and four people were shot in an attack in Bronzeville, a block from Chicago police headquarters.

The four were shot on 35th Street, in the block east of Indiana Avenue, about 8:20 p.m.
Won't somebody think of the bosses??!?!??

From last night:

Anyone from the media want to guess why the Department decided to go with 12-hour days? The Fourth of July hasn't been an "emergency situation," in our collective memories and some of our contributors go back six decades of living in Chicago. Why don't you spend some time tracking down the real story?

The FBI is suddenly arresting anyone and everyone that ever mentioned they liked ISIS. What is it?, six or so ISIS Jihadi Wanna-be arrests in the last two weeks? I hope I am wrong...

They decided to build CPD headquarters at 35 and State for 2 reasons.
1. Central to entire city
2. Regentrification of Bronzeville, rebuilding of dying neighborhood.

They only forgot to tell the CPD employees and neighbors it's still in Chiraq.

With 10 or 12 hour tours of duty we will clean up this mass emergency right away
Just promise me some more items that will not come true....

O.T. Injured Officers

What is the status of the four injured officers from the car accident in the south side? A teenager was drunk and rear ended them and one was in stable condition and the other three had serious medical issues. What is their status? Let's continue to pray for them.

When I used to work the detail at Obama's house, one day I was on the checkpoint. All the residents on the block had to stop and get approved to go inside the forbidden zone. One lady made repeated trips in and out as school was getting out. She kept coming back with loads of kids and dutifully stopped by my squad car every time. She still stopped once in the late afternoon and I said to her that it must be a pain having to go past the checkpoint each time. "Oh no," she said. She loved it, she said "We haven't had anything stolen from our back yard for months." That was the President's block. The savages didn't stop robbing it until there were dozens of police around along with Secret Service, Army Intelligence, Counter-Terrorism Units and God knows what other secret squirrel units plus satellite coverage from the eye in the sky. And on New Year's Eve it sounded like 1968, The Tet Offensive.

These (bosses) and I use the term vaguely, probably have their blinders on. Look at their arrest numbers /activity for their career. What a joke this department is. You have a commander no names KR with 19 arrest being in charge of a gang unit. You want to know why these numbers are up? Because your strategies along with your policing skills are garbage.

Gee, now how many Firearms and Criminal Laws were broken by all these shootings? I'm fairly sure Murder is still illegal, isn't it?

But never mind all those laws the Gangbangers & low-life career criminals IGNORED. If we just pass a couple more 'common sense gun control laws', then Murders, Robberies, Rapes, and crime in general will just...disappear. It'll be Valhalla -- Unicorns will appear, every child will get a pony, and they'll all grow up to be doctors and architects.

Yep, pretty sweet. Though those gun-grabbers ....ooops, I mean, 'Caring Politicians' who cry for these 'common sense laws', never say how they'll get CRIMINALS to obey them?

A mass shooting near the police headquarters, the home of the C.P.D.’s best and brightest. Lots of bloodshed and murder mayhem within 1000 feet of the C.P.D.’s own citadel which is staffed by hundreds of hard charging male and female desk dollies. Stuperintendent McCarthy has sent out a C.P.I.C. fashioned P.D.T. red alert to all the critical personnel at H.Q. Highlights include:

• A Safe Passage program where Fire department personnel will escort C.P.D. personnel to their cars parked to those “reserved for…” front row designated parking areas

• C.P.D. will don their crown caps to and from the building. Long sleeves with ties for those with tattoos. No facial hairs-no exceptions. Department I.D. cards must be prominently displayed at all times. Baseball hats are strictly prohibited

• Bronzeville Academy R.O.T.C. will conduct marching drills around the H.Q. with replica rifles to convey a sense of importance to the public of the command staff, their secretaries, their decision making abilities as dictated by city hall and all the other dressed up and no place to go air conditioned lovin pretend 35th street make believe police

• CPD personnel will be encouraged to walk in pairs in well lighted areas with female officers clutching their purses firmly while male H.Q. personnel will firmly grasp the plain black authorized murses and clutches. Iridescent colored accessories are strictly prohibited

• Re-new a sense of safety by the H.Q. safety campus via post shooting mission event numbers, seat belt enforcement, additional Police Headquarter Campus murder violence reduction missions, curfrew enforcement, police helicopter (PH1) mass shooting quality of life flyovers and contact card writing contests

• Strategic Deployment Operations of unoccupied marked cars with activated flashing mars strobe lights to convey a false sense of security at the command. Note: Some cars will be occupied by uniformed dummies as deterrence to thuggish gunplay. The state police use tactically placed parked marked vehicles to deter speeding

• Community alert bulletins posted conspicuously near the police HQ campus warning both Ivory Tower personnel and citizens stating “ ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK-YOUR LIFE MAY BE IN PERIL” much like State Department travel advisories in places like Beirut, Somalia, Mogadishu, Chiraq, etc.

• Critical, most essential empty holster personnel are ordered to wear bullet proof vests and now are required to strap on their on-duty weapons ( not to be confused with their strap on off-duty love guns) when working in offices which have outside windows Monday thru Friday 9a.m. to 3.p.m. No 12-hour days here!

All that money spent for the Blue Light cameras and Shot Spotter technology, and it turns out you just have to look out the Supe's window. to find a "shoot'n" or four. Does this mean HQ isn't safe enough for CFD to share the building with CPD? I see a new award in the works for those assigned to HQ; the "Gauntlet" award for those who daily make it to, and from, 35th and Michigan.

Maybe the reason why we are doing 12 hour days in early July is because maybe ISIS is up to no good? I tell you this terrorist group is the worst one. They are so vicious. Plus they are recruiting people left and right via social media. No one is safe. Be very careful when working on those dates. The war on terrorism has never stopped and is still continuing. This will be a war without an end.

Didn't wanna do anything to fuck-up those

Walking on the bones of dreams and ambitions of many an apt, able and good man

Some upright Copper with a spine and an intact moral compass might get in, fuck around
and do the right things.

"We can't have that!
You coppers might fuck around, gain your footing and have the nerve
to try and regain your big and bold Law Enforcement swagger
just when we have you almost where we want you. You're

OT:

Saw this posted on a family member's Facebook page, and had to share, as stuff like this isn't emphasized enough:

Yesterday Deputy Zach Ropos was on patrol yesterday and stopped by a little girl’s lemonade stand to make a purchase. He asked the little girl named Gabrielle what she was going to do with all her money. She explained that she wanted to buy an IPad so she could play games on it and go on the Internet for school. She knew her family was having a very difficult time financially and she knew that she would have to work hard this summer selling lemonade to get enough to buy one on her own.

Deputy Ropos went home after shift to find an I-Pad he had that was an older model. He wanted to give it to her. When he found out it didn’t work he went out last night and bought her a new one on his own. Today Deputy Ropos presented Gabrielle with her very own computer tablet. The gift became even more valuable when Gabrielle’s mother told him that just before he arrived Gabrielle offered to give all of her lemonade money to her mom to buy gas for the car!

I am sure he will be embarrassed to hear this highlighted and that it was never his intention to get recognized. But great job Deputy Ropos on making this little girl’s day! You really make a difference. And all of the best to Gabrielle and her new I-Pad.

Chief Deputy Frank Leonbruno
