Before President Sparklefarts classifies this as yet another example of "workplace violence," we train these kids to drive tanks worth tens of millions of dollars, helicopters worth five times that and aircraft worth a hundred times that. We can't trust them with a pistol?
- The mayor of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Andy Berke, claims that a suspected terrorist on Thursday afternoon killed four U.S. Marines and wounded a Chattanooga Police officer during an attack on two military facilities in the city. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the shooting is considered to be an "act of domestic terrorism," but it's not known of the attacker is linked to any Islamic or white supremacist groups.
During news conferences on Thursday held by local and federal government officials it was learned that the shooter, Kuwait-national Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, was also killed but he didn't say how he met his end. During the attacks at two separate installations, a police officer and others were also wounded.
We're going to go out on a limb here....don't ask us why...it's just a gut feeling we have...that this isn't a "white supremacist" attack. But hey, that liberal media has to cover all the bases - we're just surprised they haven't pinned it on the Tea Party yet.

I served 6 months as gate security at a Navy base, with an empty .45 in the holster.......Officers are more worried about the troops shooting them rather than the bad guys.

Right after the Towers fell, Chicago Police Officers were sent to the airports with long rifles to protect the public from whatever else may come. Maggie Daley didn't like the look of it and Mayor Daley made the call. The officers were told to put the rifles away. Handguns only.

No, dummy, he is not on his side. He is wondering why the media and are refusing to acknowledge that the shooting being investigated by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and being investigated as an act of terrorism is refusing to acknowledge that he is a terrorist. Despite the fact that he committed a drive by at a recruiting center and then proceeded to the reservist base where he killed 5 servicemen.
I prefer president "tear country apart and start civil war"..but I guess that's too long..where will he live when the war starts..probably not in the US

Instead, he said, it's more about "accidental discharges and everything else that goes along with having weapons that are loaded that causes injuries."

Odierno is a tool and a hack political appointee. The military stopped arming itself domestically in order to avoid violating the Posse Commitatus act . I am not saying they are right, but if they did arm themselves imagine the fallout and growing crap-storm that the paranoid side of the nation (to which the lib-dems would jump on board for). With all the paranoia that Jade-Helm has created, arming the stateside military would increase this paranoia ten-fold.
Odierno does have a point about the NEGLIGENT DISCHARGES, though. I worked two tours in Iraq and the ridiculous rules imposed on the military for "clearing stations" once inside the wire became a safety hazard themselves. In addition, with the way the military forces downhill action, they would end up arming the lowest ranking individual-usually some 17-20 year old private with zero life experience and minimal training. Don't misunderstand me, I truly believe that most of the military should have access to weapons, as long as it is combined with common sense, something the military has been lacking for a long time now.
Maybe the recruiters should just take it upon themselves to carry concealed to protect themselves and coworkers. Ankle holster,pocket holster, IWB holster - Yes, it's concealed but it's better than nothing. Definitely beats being turned into a target by some armed knucklehead who doesn't have ANY rules to follow.
I'm certain they are prohibited from carrying weapons while on duty, but these are uncertain times.
Just like law enforcement: the bosses DON'T care about you, so you'd better be ready to protect yourself and your co-workers.
