Europe is toast:
- Norway's police, who have been authorised to carry firearms for the past year due to a heightened threat of Islamist attacks, will be unarmed again now that the threat level has been lowered, police said Friday.
National police chief Odd Reidar Humlegard told reporters the measure would take effect on November 17.
The country's 6,000 uniformed police officers will "have to keep their weapons locked in their patrol cars like they did previously," he said.

Norway, Great (or formerly Great) Brittan, Ireland or anywhere else that has police that are normally unarmed ought to review this with their citizens.
An unarmed officer is just another target to armed felons and terrorists and is unprepared to in harms way between evil and my family.
Countries like Canada and Australia were stupid to allow politicians to force people to give up their firearms.

I read that article and could not stop laughing. If for whatever reason this building gets constructed it will definitely be better than the old one for some reason pipes all over the building leak, doors are constantly broken and sinks constantly run water. Great job picking the contractors.

UK is so bad that I read a letter from an old fellow who rigged his garden shed with a makeshift alarm -- truck horn and a big battery -- because he was tired of having his garden tools stolen. When it happened again, the intruder did indeed run off -- and the poor guy was out there sweating to remove the horn and heavy battery and hide them in case the police came, because "such a loud sound could startle a burglar and cause him to injure himself, and I would be held liable."
That bad. Saw today in a photo that armed police there have to wear hats with RED-and-white checkered bands -- marking themselves out as first targets.

Last year, the Canadian Parliament was under attack by an active shooter. The Sergeant at Arms, a former Royal Canadian Mounted Policemen had to go and unlock his desk to get his S&W 3953 to save their asses by shooting the shooter.
