Enough already, SCC! It was funny in the beginning, but you are truly beating the dead horse now!
Besides, we all know that the UK has absolutely no intention of hiring a Yank to run their police agency.
While England has their share of fools, we have an entirely different brand of street hooligan here, and
ours are very well armed, or can be at a moment's notice. Their famed 'de-escalation' tactics won't work very well here.

J-fled and McCarthy two outsiders who were given a really hard time by a lot of the police officers. But, something tells me that when these changes are put into place and a new prosecutor is elected ( assuming that will happen) and a new superintendent is in place, you will look back fondly on their days as superintendent. The job changes as all things do and it certainly changed during my nearly 40 years on. But, the changes that will be wrought in the coming few years will the greatest of all. Aggressive policing is dead and community policing ( and not like what we had in the 90's) is in, just like LA ended up with after the Justice Dept finished with them. The political class does not have the balls to do what it takes to suppress crime and they will not pass any laws that result in more minorities ending up in prison for violent crimes.

He was the only one to stand up to City Hall..We have no one that can do that now because we don't have an independent Sup (And everyone else is screwed.) Escalate is a really good guy who is trying hard, but is screwed because there is nothing he can do against city hall...... .... No matter his policies and ego, McCarthy did stand up to 9.5, hence he was fired..........

Nearly 40 years on! You must have a really plush spot to last that long! WOW! You are my hero. I know that I couldn't put up with the bullshit that long. I could only take 25 years and never thought of maxing out, just getting out!
