Quinn Wasted Money???
- A state agency at the center of a scathing audit vowed it would follow through on findings that showed "significant breakdowns" in how it doled out anti-violence grants and oversaw spending.
The auditor general on Tuesday released the 200-page audit that focused on the third and fourth years of the program overseen by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. In 2014, state auditors released a highly critical report that covered the program's first two years.
Auditor General Frank Mautino, a former Democratic lawmaker, noted that the latest audit shows many of the problems continued with little accountability.
"These are all very important programs," Mautino told the Tribune, adding that "you can't really show whether (the initiative) achieved the goals that it was supposed to do."
Um, if you can't measure the goals, then is it anything other than a waste of money?
It's surprising that no one pointed this out as Quinn shoveled money out the door by the wheelbarrow full in the waning days of his administration in a futile effort to buy the election. We mean, if someone like Tio Hardiman was running around with millions in unaccountable funding, someone should have said something then, right?
Oh yeah, we did. But no one listens to us, and the press just ignores corruption when it's Illinois democrats doing it.

Just giving money to these anti-violence programs is a total waste. How many millions of $ have been pisssed away? And we are in the midst of a full-blown murder epidemic. And the idiots want to give them even more money to accomplish nothing with?
The pandering is out of control. Raise the gas tax, penalize every person and business in Illinois to throw away more money.
HEY, I didn't use any wheelbarrows. Money is no good unless it is in the hands of the people, especially "bribe", I mean, government "anti-crime" money.
If one life was saved, no more accounting needs to be done and I think at least one life was saved.
Hey, see you at the next Parade.
How fucked up did Quinn have to be to get a moron like Rauner elected. Those were the two best choices last time I hate to see what the next election looks like.
The programs were important but we can't tell if they worked? Waste, fraud, abuse go hand in hand with all these programs. Taxpayers being fleeced while being told these programs are important. This inspector is a big part of the problem. He has to say something because he doesn't want to get caught up in the mess if this thing blows up. He looked the other way when it was happening. Somebody must be stirring the pot.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many millions are given to all these "churchs" in Chicagoland?
Now that would be an eye opening audit.
You'll be pining for the days of Quinn after Ruiner turns this state into another Kansas.
Bring Blagojevich back.
Exactly what is a "criminal justice information authority"? How much cash is blown on that? Sounds like another level of bullshit welfare for the connected. How much do they waste in salary, etc.?
Charge us for every mile we put on the odometer. Yeah more money for the electorate insiders
I want giant public recreational centers in each of the neighborhoods:
use low income census tracts
then cover other higher income census tracts
Those were the two best choices last time I hate to see what the next election looks like.

Deja vu all over again.
Money is not the answer. The lack of PARENTING in the black community is the problem. Not more money, but blaming everyone else for their problems. Who is killing who?
One can only wonder who owns the building that the criminal justice authority rents in the high rent financial district when the Thompson Center sits half empty.
How many Boy Scouts troops are there in the Hood?

Yeah, wait until you see what heads up the national ticket this Fall. Last one left in the U.S. turn out the lights!
None of these anti-violence "programs" have any accountability, progress or success reporting protocol at all. And the worthless politicians that dole out the money don't ask.
So that tells be that these are not serious programs with a mission and goals. Other than to funnel money and buy political favors.
Come on Governor. Peel back the onion and get all these corrupt politicians put in prison. I would support a tax increase to build a new prison based on the zoo concept so we could bring our children by and show them who stole their future. Pricks!
The Dems needed to divert tax dollars squeezed from the middle class to their favorite groups.
Anti-violence programs are much needed. By politicians. For appearances sake.
State agencies wasting millions, Clinton emails which are classified being used in private by Hillary, but the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND THE FBI ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. Supposedly the most integrity but now we see they are the most political of all justice systems ever. Go after the measly cops for supposed civil rights infractions to take the heat off of yourselves. What a shame .
I guess if you look at the bright side, when this City can't afford the lavish benefits any longer these Baby Momma's might move on to greener pastures.
Quinn , typical Northside pimpy asshole who thinks that pettiness is a sign of intelligence. Madigan and the boys always looked at him like the Jaggoff that he is. Goody two shoes piece of shit!
Ceasefire was free money tossed away on an unproven, frivolous program. It was pay for votes. A free untaxable slush fund with no accountability, lining the pockets of one of the city's most vile figures, Tio Hardiman. The state has called out Ceasefire for fiscal irregularities since 2007, yet no criminal or administrative action was taken. That lousy documentary the Interrupters , produced by the gangbanging loving Alex Kotlowitz didn't help, nor did Lisa Madigan's head in the sand approach.
"Frivolous"????
This is out and out THEFT. Buying votes with our money. It is criminal.
