- A teenage boy was fatally shot by someone brandishing an assault rifle Sunday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to police.
No, not that. You should expect that. We mean this:
- After the attack, a large group of community members gathered at the scene. As officers were getting there and investigating, someone made comments to them, causing an extra-heavy police response which included a Special Operations Response Unit....
“Threats were made that they would harm officers on the scene,"
So some gang bangers shoot another (alleged) gang banger, then the police, who are trying to solve the crime so more people don't get shot, are threatened by the "community." This is considered "normal" in the community. And acceptable.

Ungrateful assholes. Threatening officers actually trying to help only wants officers not want to help. The DOJ, the media, the ACLU, the Department and now the community all want to either harm cops or throw them under the bus with the chance that they might lose their job, get charged and go to prison. The world has surely turned upside down.
It's funny but all the teenagers in my neighborhood spent the afternoon grilling with their family for Father's Day.
Now someone reading this from the North Shore or some other "sheltered" neighborhood would not even think something like that (threatening police) could happen.
First of all, in the lives of Lance Remington III and his wife, Buffy, homicides in the neighborhood are so far and few between, they ALWAYS think, "hmmm....a crime like that would NEVER happen in our neighborhood."
As to "threatening the police on the scene?" - "Oh that must be an exaggeration. No one does that."
Lance and Buffy have no clue what goes on in the Ghetto. What they need is a large Section 8 complex "just down the street", so they can "relate".
We watched the news tonight...saw the group of concerned citizens you are writing about...without knowing or reading this or any other site...but from the couch...it appeared citizens were screaming at the Police..appeared to be taking a defensive stance against the Police. We are done folks...the city is lost....Eddie will not lose his job...the community will not shout him down. The Powers That Be--want him. He's been sent.

This new dangerous action of publicly threatening police has been the result of a precedent set forth by the top boss last week. The hate has been steadily growing but last weeks decision to strip the officer has sealed the deal. We are officially the bad guys according to the community. And we have no public advocacy by any measure from the dept. The criminal predators have been given the green light to fight us or worse without fear of reprisal. Must keep those channels open to those activists so that fear of them protesting can dictate how we should run this dept. But not to worry, all is good in Babylon since the gold star crew is not the one in the battlefield dealing with the beast.
I wonder if the good citizens understand any of this or how their tax dollars are being spent.

Unfortunately not for long. Obama can't stand the fact that some neighborhoods don't have drive by shootings and drug dealers on every corner. He wants to share the crime because it's not fair that in some of the neighborhoods, people actually act like decent human beings. So he plans to bring in more low income families to flood the beautiful, low crime areas. The nice teenagers that play baseball in the great neighborhoods that are still left should have to dodge bullets too. It's all part of his greater plan and we will all suffer for being decent, law-abiding citizens that work hard and take care of what we have earned.
I guess they want to solve/prevent their own crimes now. They know how...right?

I sometimes wonder where some of the posters on the blog actually work, or if some of them work the street at all. " This has become a problem as of last week ?" In my experience the crowd taunts and threatens the police on a regular basis, and has been doing this for some time. (not always but fairly regular behavior in certain areas). You can't blame everything on Eddie Johnson, although he seems to have earned his reputation as of late, and it appears that his management of the department and interaction with questionable members of the community will further promote this type of behavior.
Its a real shame that we have a mayor and police superintendent who cater to the drug dealers in this city.
In the past weeks, we have heard that thousands of people making a million plus a year have fled the city, and last week they said that 8000 middle class polish have made it over the border and gotten out of this pest hole. Do the democrats want any working class people left in the city?
CPD needs a drone unit to patrol gang & drug infested neighborhoods .
Spray corners with mace , arm drones with rubber bullets to clear the neighborhoods of outdoor drug markets .
By the way , what district is responsible for enforcement of all the illegal food vendors on 26thst ? Maybe the New Deputy Chief of Professional Standards can look into this .

The news gave some P.O.S. F/1 a lot of face time as she criticized security guards and accused them of gunning down the altar boy.
Turns out the security guards vehicle and each of the guards caught some lead

Retired and loving it. After 37 years as patrolman and later assigned to Detective Div I knew it was time to retire. You could see the hand writing on the wall when the reverends and community activists, and outspoken south side pastors started screaming racial profiling and police harassment and the ACLU and the news media and the politicians picked up and ran with it.(the squeaky wheel gets the grease)approach. And the same neighborhoods were the majority of crime and violence are occurring are the communities where the police are held in political check and the decent citizens are held captive(not by the police but by the very criminals that the police are told not to harass). I feel sorry for the police that are trying to serve and protect these neighborhoods and reduce crime and violence as much as they possibly can under the political restraints they have to work under. Surprised news reported this. Out of the hundreds of shootings I've been to, I'd say 90% included the "community" making threats, yelling for us to "do yo job." "Job?" Funny considering the source. I think that when the police are responding to a scene and are harassed and or threatened by people in the neighborhood, they should say fuck it and leave. The folks don't wanna help the police. Fuck them. Police lives matter. Say fuck it & go home safely at the end of your shift. Time for the assholes to clean up their own messes.

Valid point though -- look at photos of "security" working all over the world. Everyone naturally wants to see the Important People, hear the speech, etc. Human nature, hard to overcome. Never seems to be enough people with their backs turned to the protected person, watching the crowd -- which is where the threat comes from.
