- The Justice Department on Friday took its first steps to strip Chicago and Cook County of some crime-fighting grants as part of a drive to deny federal money to so-called “sanctuary cities” shielding illegal immigrants.
Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle were two of nine local officials sent a Justice Department letter setting a June 30 deadline to declare compliance with federal laws or risk losing $3.2 million in Justice Department grants.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel remained defiant: “Neither the facts, nor the law are on their side,” he said.
Besides Chicago and Cook County, letters were sent to officials in New York City, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Miami, Milwaukee, and California.
Actually, Rahm, the law is on their side. It's a Federal law that Sparklefarts refused to enforce, but never actually got rescinded in Congress. You remember Congress, right Rahm? Laws and stuff are passed there. Usually.
And the facts are that illegals cost cities, states and the nation far more than they "contribute." And they are about to cost Chicago/Cook County taxpayers another $13 million plus in much-needed crime-fighting dollars...unless there's been some unnoticed drop in crime we haven't noticed.

Not enough to force any meaningful change. That minimal loss will be ineffective, so they will have to do better. Maybe cut it by $75 million, or the amount needed to ensure each alderman gets his annual $1.5 million slush fund, money they can spend for profit, then, maybe, there will be some thought about chamge.

The attorney general needs to send in all of his people directly to City Hall and the County building start the forensic audit arrest all the people who refuse to enforce the federal laws in the highest elected offices in this corrupt city state county indictments and all of them The good law-abiding people that live here are tired of this national nose constantly the high crime rate the carnage the theft by the corporation of the elected lawbreaking criminal enterprise. Haywood and his Assistant Chief MAT Solbeski don't even live in Crook County Illinois. Both have county cars they take home. Mat Solbeski lives in Grundy county. This asswipe scumbag liberal with chief Haywood told all weapons officers that they are not lawenforcement. Both these liberal asswipe's ordered ALL weapons units officers not to make ANY ARREST or conduct searches on convicted felons homes. Because it's simple, keeping City Workers in the City gives them revenue. Imagine all City Workers not living in the City. Who the fuck is going to pay all those taxes, water bills and .7 cent bags. Right now we are screwed, on the north side where the Aldermen wants to put Section #8 in the area, property prices have dropped in the last couple of months. Looking at the south side of the city, a similar price drop has occurred, however, it's because people in area's of high crime are fleeing west and westsiders fleeing north to other neighborhoods. In the end of the year 2016 property values in the Midway area were on the rise, but they also dropped recently. If the City Workers all sold their properties in a move frenzy, no one would be able to recover their money from a real-estate investment. Lastly, you would have to move at least 40 miles away from the city and even that might be to close. Three of us CPD dudes are thinking of buying a 20 plus acre farm and building a compound. It's difficult to get away from the Democrat's.

Mullins said in a statement issued Friday that “Sessions is absolutely correct to hold New York and other jurisdictions accountable for their so-called ‘sanctuary policies.’”
“For a long time, Mayor De Blasio and the NYPD’s leadership have failed to heed the warning that refusing to cooperate with federal immigration officials when it comes to criminals and suspected terrorists would have consequences beyond making our City less safe. They have placed officers in an impossible Catch-22: between obeying the directives and orders of their superiors and elected officials on one hand, and the obligation they feel to follow the direction of the law and to cooperate with federal immigration officials on the other,” Mullins said.
Mullins went on to say, “Now the City’s intransigence has placed in jeopardy millions in U.S. Department of Justice grant funds that we count on to help protect our communities. Despite what some politicians may think, law enforcement does not get to choose the laws we uphold, and it is our sworn duty to enforce all laws equally and without bias or preference. Attorney General Sessions is absolutely correct to hold New York and other jurisdictions accountable for their so-called ‘sanctuary policies.’ I just hope the Mayor will finally come to his senses and stop ignoring and harboring violent criminals before it’s too late.”
