Rahm Lied Again??

  • The Chicago Public Schools actually need $596 million to keep schools open the rest of the school year, and not just the $129 million officials have publicly discussed, a top aide to Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Tuesday.

The larger figure takes into account delays in receiving block grants from the state, according to Carole Brown, Emanuel’s chief financial officer.

Brown said all options are on the table to find the cash needed to stave off an early closing of schools that CPS CEO Forrest Claypool has warned might be needed but that Emanuel has ruled out to preserve the longer school year that cost the mayor a teachers strike to achieve.

Brown wouldn’t even rule out another tax increase — in addition to the $250 million already imposed for teacher pensions and the $45 million for school construction.

But she said that would not solve the need for an immediate cash infusion.
Going from $129 million to $596 million isn't any sort of rounding error. It's not a misstatement. It's a lie - a 450% lie. And to cover for the lie, Rahm's people are proposing looting the TIF's or delaying pension payments, thought they won't specify which funds might get shafted.

CPS is a useless instrument of any learning. Close all these fucking schools, and just put a Jack In the Box fast food joint at every school. Open 0700 till 1700. They can eat on the tax $ and be quite cheaper. No poor folks go poor, as the fool Pritker running for governor can spoon feed the 8 generation of welfare and link living.
He should have picnic at is North Shore mansion and feed a thousand on weekends. His private beach would be void of the sand after the first picnic

Close the schools early.

Big deal.

They're going to miss 3 weeks of "hands up, don't shoot studies", and they'll lose a few pounds.

Deport the illegals kids and their families.

Fire 25% of the staff.

Start fresh in August.

Of course there are, the looting politicians put them there. Time for big changes. Everyone that has blindly voted for the democrats all these years must change their vote in the next elections. Time for change

Rahm the Lil Tough Guy from Wilmette, where the Gang Bangers have braces and shrinks, is really challenged on this one. Get ready to see Claypool resign. And if school has to let out on June 1st; there are going to be a lot of angry Democrats! Baby "G"

Hello Kevin Graham number one issue must be the Chicago Police Pension fine if you're going to hire people hire people to watch our money very important we are the worst find it Police Pension find in the United States of America under 25% funded with hundreds of police officers retiring May 15 and hundreds more to follow this should be the number one issue! Do not concentrate waste any resources on the residency issue that would be a waste of time it hasn't happened for the past 50 years it's not going to happen it's a battle that will not be won simply because the entire state judicial system is controlled by City Hall simple as that.

Bend over Chicago, another tax hike looms on the horizon.

Maybe Rahm ought to consider removing exemptions from the tax rolls. Those folks living on welfare but driving BMW's, Cadillac's and Mercedes ought to be able to cough up a few bucks. You know, for the children.
I'm sure Rahm could twist it around so it sounds like it has to be done because of the republicans. Or maybe Mr. Dart could start skimming the pizza money fund and send it to Rahm.

Nobody will call him out on it. Not perennial reformer candidate for every local government agency - Forrest Gump Claypool for sure.

Over 4x over the stated amount, even Midas Muffler will give you fair warning when their estimate goes over 20% for replacing your Chicago stolen catalytic converter.

Let's see, Rahm will raise taxes, I'll readjust my budget, forego buying this or that, decide what things I need to cut back on, since I spend wisely, after I get paid.

Just why won't CPS-CTU do the same instead of spending money they don't have and are unlikely to get ?
Oh yeah, the have BIG MOUTHS and bash chicken little at their pink hat monthly protest marches...Rahm gives in ALL the time.
Closing schools for the rest of the year isn't going to matter, half don't show up, the other half don't pay attention, and the other-other half are on lunchroom or gymroom break for five periods. There's only about six or seven are actually at grade level, prepared enough for graduation to the next grade and don't need the last month of CPS maniacal classroom, bias teaching nonsense anyway.

Sanctuary First - All other wait.

I recall a massive bit of borrowing to even pay the already bloated debt that Rahm and crew couldn't pay- it was called restructuring at the time, because it couldn't be called refinancing as a result of borrowing billions with a B extra. That billions with a B STILL wasn't enough and ANOTHER half a billion shortage exists now? Holy COW.

So how many billions down will the city get before those around Rahm put a stop to this madness? This when there was so much extra money that millions could be literally stolen without even being noticed? Uh huh.

And it appears that Rahm and his hand-picked board still haven't learned their lesson. A friend told me that a rumor floats about CPS right now that all of the technology people who work in the schools are going to lose their jobs because IT is going the way of the engineers and custodial staff. The kicker is that the person who is bidding on this lucrative, multi-year contract to perform all IT services is actually a woman who oversaw the department for 20 years or so, and she has serious connections to the guy from Wilmette that hid his wife's wedding dress in the crawlspace of that house on the 4200 block of North Hermitage. This is Barbara Byrd Bennett all over, except the stakes will be even higher with "untagged" merchandise walking out the doors and an even bigger contract awarded. But they don't have the money to keep the doors open.

Are the media snoops reading this? How about either of the Inspector Generals? What about the guy who claims to be friends with a guy who knows Jeff Sessions really well? Someone needs to stop this little Monster Rahm from blowing even more money on connected friends and their corporations.

Folks, one thing is forsure...it's nearly impossible to predict the stock market, But one thing that is easy to predict is the eventual collapse of Chicago because the same type of people will always be running this place. The people in charge are only out for themselves and will hurt the city just to stay in power. They are destroying Chicago from every angle. They are driving away business and the responsible productive residents. The have killed the police force which will also push business and people away. Chicago will never have competent, intelligent and responsible politicians. EVER!

Illinois lost 329,000 residents, on net, to surrounding states over the 10-year period from 2006 through 2015, according to state-to-state migration data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Illinois suffered the greatest net loss of residents to Indiana at 119,000, followed by Wisconsin at 86,000, Missouri at 73,000, Iowa at 48,000, and Kentucky at 13,000. Illinois actually gained 10,000 residents from Michigan, on net, over that same 10-year period, which makes sense given Michigan’s concurrent economic turmoil. However, Illinois-Michigan migration reversed over the two most recent years of available data, with Illinois losing a net total of 4,000 residents to Michigan over years 2014 and 2015.

A Modest Proposal of a Different Sort

Since we no longer worry about the starving kids
of Ireland. It is time to re-apply that brilliant essay to our modern
problem. What to do with the broken children of Chicago? If
followed to the letter my proposal will:

Ensure a 100% college graduation rate
Lower property taxes by at least 75%
Obliterate teacher unions
Create thousands of good high paying jobs.
Make schools profitable
Eliminate violence

All we have to do is assign every person a college degree at birth.
Right on the birth certificate next to the foot print makes it legal.
By this simple bit of paperwork we have it in our power to change society.
Of course this will alter education, so let’s look at the school of the future.

Names will be changed from schools to Feeding Stations or FS.
every person from age 3 until 25 can attend. But since everyone already
has a degree attendance is optional. All social services will move into
the FS’s thus saving billions on rent and heat. The money saved will
be partially returned as a stipend, and every FS will be franchised
to a gang, we will finally face reality and surrender the building.
Our school of the future is vastly different in many ways.

Halls become bazaars full of herbal delights since drugs are now legal.
Gangs will run this operation closely watched by the city department of
revenue. All drugs are taxed. Violence is over, no more drug wars. All meals are free but the lunchroom ladies have to serve three a day so breakfast begins at 8am.

After breakfast we will visit the gym renamed The Garden of Physical Delights. Only basketball allowed, everyone else can go to the pool which has been transformed into one large waterbed. After the Bazaar energy will be worked off on the pool bed, then on to the dispensary to take care of infection caught on the waterbed..

The Library becomes a game room full of computers and video games.
The seats in the auditorium are replaced by larger attractions and gaming tables. Lunch, at noon, then off to afternoon pursuits. Sadly no sports, band
Or any other classes are offered since everyone is stoned by one pm.
Dinner at 5, doors will close promptly at 10pm.

Some teachers will remain as ball boys and gym attendants. Others can make a living
sitting in the dunk tanks lining the old study hall walls. Administrators will be kept on at
full pay .

Most importantly everyone is happy kids, parents, taxpayers, the police, and
politicos. Calm will return to the streets and everyone will want to go to school.

Two kids became best friends at a Catskills summer camp
for boys. The younger boy (Rahm Emanuel) was tutored by
a lad about 2 years his senior, Andrew Silverstein. The camp
counselor, Jacob Cohen, had his hands full with both trouble-
making rascals.
Rahm went on to work in Washington, D.C. Andrew Clay
Silverstein changed his last name to Dice, did stand-up,
then movies. Jacob Cohen changed his name to Rodney
Dangerfield, developed a nervous condition, and went
