Funny Officers

From our e-mail:
  • Oh, FOP book
    Oh, FOP book
    In my mailbox
    For you, I look

I need to schedule the coming year
It’s mid December, you should be here
Furlough picks were a week ago
In the mail, you did not show

    (refrain)

Who’s to blame, for the delay this year
Whoever it is, is a horses rear
On the ground, the snow is here
Will it be spring, before you’re here

    (refrain)
Well done.

So where are the books?

Some have been given to the FOP representative already, so I would assume they are in the mail.

Doesn't this come up every year?
FOP first blames the city for not providing necessary info.
(The city doesn't give a shit, no punishment to city if they are late with info)
Then FOP blames the printer.
Result: you write court dates, etc on scratch paper till the book comes.
Solution: stay legal & fetal = no court, no problems.

PBPA books arrived yesterday in Department mail. The mail guys had dozens of outbound trays of envelopes.

I called about the books. They claim they will be here by the 31st of December. And according to the lady, they aren’t late because the books always get mailed out after Christmas. She must be a PPO, because I always remember getting them in November.

Same game every year.. But hey, your 2017 book does have a January 2018 page in it,.

Why do Capts, Lts and Sgts need pbpa books? You have court dates? Keeping track of felony court? Any civil lawsuits pending to meet with attorneys and be prepared and deposed? Have a meeting with IAD or COPA to make a statement? Planning what days you want time for but be denied later?
So please don't sympathize with the blue shirts over getting your books late.

my fop book goes to Jan 2018, I'm in no rush to receive my new one. I have better things to worry about.

Hey FOP, is this stunt so you can give yourselves a raise? I hope that's not the case.

Pretty lame. However Kathy Moore would have had these out by now and she usually handled it. Bye Marty

Don’t worry, when the fop books do arrive, they will be filled with errors anyways. Remember the one year when the books were so screwed up they gave us stickers to cover up all the mistakes.

Our elected FOP officials are too busy fighting their own personal crusades on wrongful convictions at City Hall meetings.

Well let's see, furlo pick calendars had everything you'd need until the new books arrived and the city even puts out the court key calendar cards, but hey, let's see what else we can whine about.

Good chance the USPS throws FOP stuff out.

Could use the 1990 or a 2007 FOP Book, which is the same as a 2018.
I think Dineen and Donahue (what-a-guy) planned it that way, for times like this...but it’s shows a 7 day off schedule so you’ll have to do a little numbers work and add a few streets to the guide as well as area codes.

For the shut ins and those not participating in Furlough selecting,
ChicagoFOP.org has the 2018 Operations Calendar posted under Resources...just in case.

Btw, where can I get a 2018 Hang in There, Funny Cat Pic & Inspiration Quote of the Day Calendar?
All I can find is mopey puppies, smiling piglets and Ryan Seacrest themed calendars at Petco.

Oh God, I'm so sorry. I forgot we were to send them out in December. Hey, didn't we give you the month of January for 2018. That's not enough to hold you over.

One small task for a person to do, can't even get that right.

Cut the BS. I liked Kathy but haven’t you read the comments and don’t you have any memory of past years? This has been going on for YEARS and Kathy was there all those years. She just left this year. So don’t try and blow smoke up everyones ass.

Why can't the FOP Handbooks be mailed out in November after Thanksgiving instead of mailed out in December ?

Please mail out the FOP Handbooks in November in the future, not in December bull shit, and also print out the 2018 and 2019 court date notifications in the 2018 FOP Handbook.
