Eddie Johnson said “it doesn’t take a rocket scientist” to figure out why shootings continue to be a problem in Chicago. The city’s top cop said too many criminals aren’t afraid to pull the trigger, because they don’t face significant prison time when they do.
For Fuck's Sake Ed, just come out and say it. You used to have balls:
- Prickwrinkle said there are too many black and brown people in prison;
- Kimesha Foxxx ran on a "decriminalization platform" funded by George Soros;
- Tim Evans is part-and-parcel of this charade abetted by Dart's lib-tarded bail policies;
- Rahm is acquiescing to this bullshit in an attempt to save his political life;
- The CPD has been landed and gutted like a Lake Michigan alewife and has fallen back on the only survival mechanism left - de-policing and/or disengagement.
Oh yeah, and since Wheezie and her buddies cheated their way to promotion while Rahm's "Inspector General" covered it up, there's a giant club hanging over your head to keep you in line, so you're as much to blame for the current state of events as any other politician.

Detroit slowly spiraled out of control. Chicago seems set on destroying itself. It is not so much the wholesale corruption but the whole gamut of ineptness, corruption and loss of humanity that is sucking this city down. As an outsider it seems this is a deliberate effort on somebody's part to do all this.
I wonder what the effect will be when the community wakes up? Or has it, as I believe, gone too far to ever come back. Our laws specifically forbid exiling our citizens for imprisonment. I know I learned that one of my classes in school but, for the life of me, in the age of google, I can't find a reference to that. I did, however, find many references to how brutal the police are and how the US incarcerates criminals at a higher rate than those European countries that just happened to be un-diversity is our strength, until now. Now that they've imported foreign born people and are celebrating the joys of "diversity is our strength", the violent crime rate has risen.

There was no safety hammock for poverty back then. There was real poverty and hunger back then. Ponder that for a moment, provided your attention span can last for more than a sound bite of info.

Illinois has such a law in the Code of Criminal Procedure, however, project exile is Federal and they can house you anywhere in US - far from home.

I’ve wondered the same thing. Was volunteered for CIT training recently. Training created primarily to have officers aware and somewhat prepared to deal with people in crisis. That includes legitimate people with mental problems. People that are sociopaths that can hide behind the mental umbrella. And criminal assholes that are also mentals. Restraint and patience was the core of the training. To the point that officer safety was compromised.
The question of CPD officers’ mental health came up, but was given a generic “call EAP.” CPD coppers are KILLLING THEMSELVES more than NYPD and LAPD coppers combined!!! These are straight and actual FACTS!!!
We are falling victims to the constant negative press and lack of support from EVERYONE! Nevermind PTSD and work related stress! Thrown in the stress of family or personal problems!!!

9:13, Thank you for answering. Yes something needs to be done, and quickly. The amount of constant stress your department is under is very alarming. Not enough man power, no backing from higher ups, and a Mayor that seems to hate you. The streets are out of control, though not of any fault of the police department, they've tied your hands. It has to take a toll on each and every one of you day after day. I get it, what I don't understand is, why doesn't anyone else? It's a very important issue, and needs to be addressed before any more officers choose to end things before seeking help. Stay as safe as you possibly can out there.
I’ve wondered the same thing. Was volunteered for CIT training recently. Training created primarily to have officers aware and somewhat prepared to deal with people in crisis. That includes legitimate people with mental problems. People that are sociopaths that can hide behind the mental umbrella. And criminal assholes that are also mentals. Restraint and patience was the core of the training. To the point that officer safety was compromised.
The question of CPD officers’ mental health came up, but was given a generic “call EAP.” CPD coppers are KILLLING THEMSELVES more than NYPD and LAPD coppers combined!!! These are straight and actual FACTS!!!
We are falling victims to the constant negative press and lack of support from EVERYONE! Nevermind PTSD and work related stress! Thrown in the stress of family or personal problems!!!
SCC this issue deserves its own and immediate thread and attention. It breaks my heart to know that this is happening to OUR people!!!
Could part of the problem be that CPD is hiring people that they shouldn’t be hiring? People that don’t want to be the police, have no understanding of what the jobs entails and only come on for the salary and benefits.
