Spoiled Kids

Way to look out for your District level Officers:

  • So...today, beat units within all districts, including tier 1 districts, had to send their 2 NEWEST lowest mileage cars to McCormick place, for summer mobile to use along with the new "critical response teams" and "community safety" teams or whatever theyre called. All new kids that dont know wtf theyre doing.  Nice cars with plate readers and the nicest cameras, that POs were using, not bosses cars. And they got replaced with junker pool cars. In response to the former State Rep that got accidentally arrested on a false warrant summer mobile brought in a few weeks back, and quickly released him once they realized the age difference. In that incident, summer mobile had no pdt and dispatch sent them in with it. So...now we have even less working cars. Nearly 20 cars down already within my district. Great leadership!
How about just providing the appropriate equipment to the District and Units being created?

In SOS we had the remaining old bubble Chevys and crown vice that were beat to hell and hand me downs.. we made due and still fought crime. The new kids need brand new cars?? Let the guys pushing the beat cars at least ride in comfort.

To be fair the cars the they got originally were in horrible horrible condition and not sad eat all. Brakes did not work, suspension are terrible, and let’s not even talk about the interior and loose wiring.

I don’t see anywhere in there talking about 2 newest lowest mileage cars. Districts have been sending 2 cars every year to Summer Mobile. This is nothing new. And the cars they send are the two biggest pieces of shit they got. Trust me, I’ve seen em. It’s actually pretty fucking pathetic that majority of these cars sent over are even on the street. They should be junked. But hey, why buy cars.

Um, no. The “request” came out before the arrest by 2 weeks. Take some more time off SCC, usually you guys catch the dates. Family, personal time and rest come first! We can go a few more days without updates until you are all alright.

“District Vehicle Distribution” They are easing you into the “Redistribution Of The Wealth Program” which is rapidly coming to replace capitalism, although most people don’t realized they are taxed to pay for all the programs for the deadbeats and you pay higher prices in all kinds of stores because of them (example: Mag Mile Midnight Madness. So lets take away good squads and give them to the community safety teams. I thought they were going to get pickup trucks to distribute cases of pop, groceries for the starving masses and neighborhood cleanup tools like brooms, rakes, shovels to cleanup the hoods.

Everyone is equal except some people are more equal. They believe these units will probably get more media coverage so they don’t want those beat up pool cars to be seen on the news. With all the crap you have to put up with on the job two things that helped it to be more palatable was you were teamed with the partner you wanted to work with and you had a decent car. I can remember numerous times the decent car being taken and sent somewhere else. It sure breaks your incentive to work. The only thing they can take from me now is the pension and I don’t trust them!

I don’t need a newer car anyway because all week I’ve been jammed into a bus, taken downtown, and then been abandoned on a foot post for 10+ hours where pretty much everything is closed and even decent restrooms are difficult to come by. Who is the J/O that came up with this idea to stay on 12 hour days all week?! All because they claim to be worried about what might happen this upcoming Saturday!? Why is the answer “12 hour days” to remedy everything now? Cancelled days off for everyone just simply isn’t enough?

Well that’s only half the story. In the first round every district sent their worst two cars and Summer mobile ended up with two junkers from every district. They were returned and the new request for best two cars from each unit. Maybe units like 014 should down a few officers from i don’t know maybe LL beat due to no vehicles available and then we’ll get some new squads. Hell im working on a computer that srill has Windows 95. City won’t upgrade most software won’t even function on windows 95 only our ancient CHRIS system.

I don't know where in McDermott's directive it says Districts must give up their newest vehicles. Although I'm a retired a guy and know things have changed I can't imagine things changing that much. In the old days, if a unit or district had to give up a vehicle you can bet it was the worst car still in use that was assigned to that unit. I see no where in the order where it says it must be a low mileage well equipped car.
Looks like someone stirring up some shit to me.

It would have been to be a good way to clear out the District shitboxes.
No pools or are they still not being repaired?
Sure, at the rate and inability for MMD to repair the vehicles that have been sitting is due to mainly poor management, but also the City not paying the vendors for parts, which of course parts are scarce anyway due to the Flu and limited capacity and logistics all over.
Then there’s the optic of putting the best of the fleet out there because they’ b-l-movement be on the dnc cables’ news being destroyed - with Derelict Larri’s encouragement. It was all part of a plan.
Besides, it further depletes the CPD budget for repairs and replacements too. Less vehicles means more foot trudgers into the community to get pelted, adds another reason to quit the job for more suitable 21st Century malleable replacements.

Buying junkers from Victory or Bionic’s, would be cheaper even at $5000 each to repaint and outfit w/lights. But that’s logic only reserved for taxi cabs.
I’ll also bet $2 CAPS didn’t have to send their dedicated assigned vehicles, only Watch vehicles.

I wonder what Governor FATSO,s thoughts and plans are regarding the advertised shutdown of 1 of his major expressways Saturday with thousands of Protesters gathered within a few feet of each other spreading this Killer Virus?Speaking of the Killer Virus,I find it statistically astonishing that the State of Illinois has reported approximately the same number of positive tests everyday for the last 6 weeks. And not 1 mention of ventilators being used or how many ICU beds are being used in the largest counties. When you b.s and deceive the public by telling them that some farm county has 75% of their ICU beds filled when they have a total of 3 beds,it is very telling about what is going on and the looming shutdown on September 1st.

Who the FUCK is in charge of this mess ?
Please save us from MERIT MORONS!!!
The new 12 hour schedule leaves absolutely NO cars for ALL of 3rd watch and the 1st watch RDO group
All stuck stuck on bullshit posts. Nothing like guarding ghetto retail strips where everything is boarded up or out of business. Burn these places down and call it urban renewal.
Packed onto a bus (if you are lucky to get one) to take to your post then they leave!
you get to languish For your shift with no place to sit. Maybe you can load up in the wagon, a nine person van or be shuttled 3 deep in a crown Vic to ride to your post ... to stand around holding your gear and your bag of drinks and food from home if you had time to make on your 3 hours of wakefulness.
Thank God some Sgt’s have cars to sit in, sit on and store the gear.
District Lts and Sgt’s buying water, ice and food to their troops with their own money. Bringing Coolers from home. Does the Districts not have money to feed their officers.. but they have money for ghetto community events ?
Each day the logic and procedure to these deployments seem to get worse and worse. Who is in charge? It’s not like this is our first time doing this !
Oh is the north part of the district getting their asses kicked calling a 10-1. Need all resources now?
Sorry, we got 12 officers and Only one car ... and that just drove to the nearest station / pumps/ clean place to pee.

This department treats the patrol officers like shit.
Worst than I have ever seen it after 20 years on the job. Our laughably bad merit leadership are a bunch of frat boys who only care about their next promotion they will get off the backs of once again kicked in the nuts patrol officers. Merit get your knee off my neck

Remember when the plate readers first came out, the city held a press conference about how they supply the Police with all the modern crime fighting tools etc... if you were assigned to them you had to wait for another plate reader car to be totaled, just to get the parts to repair the readers that the city wouldn’t support. Guess it was typical!

You ended up a one person crime fighting machine, with the cage, computer with reader equipment, plus “LoJak” and your gear, there was only room for one occupant! Add a partner and it was a sardine can on wheels....
