It almost never matters....but sometimes it does. And when you're CPD, you ought to be aware of that possibility:
Last November, prosecutors charged her with felony false report, saying she reported being robbed of $5,000 behind her home when, in fact, no robbery occurred.
The nine-year CPD veteran called 911 on September 23, 2023, and claimed that a man robbed her near her garage in the 8000 block of South Wabash.
“Give me everything you got!” the robber supposedly ordered while holding her at gunpoint.
Williams told responding officers that her surveillance cameras weren’t working. Unfortunately for Williams, her neighbor’s cameras worked just fine, showing that no robbery took place, prosecutors said.
She resigned and as CWB points out, she still didn't get the treatment Juicy Smollet got for something far worse. She must not know Mrs Sparklefarts.

Dumb move on her part.
However, she was just hit with the misdemeanor charge - down-graded from a felony. She could have kept the job. Instead she resigned on Thursday.

Just because she wasn’t convicted of a felony doesn’t mean she didn’t violate an avalanche of orders and policies for which she would’ve been fired. The chances of her keeping her job would have been slim to none. No reason to sit in call back for 5 years waiting to go before the police board to be fired for violating every order in the book. She’s a criminally convicted liar, she would’ve been done.
No. She blew the job. She'd never be able to testify so she could never be on an arrest. By resigning she could cash out any time on the books and get paid for her unused VDs, BFDs, PDs, etc.

Nah, LEOs are always held to a higher standard than civilians. Her position as an CPD Officer was to uphold and enforce the City and State laws. She really boned herself with her shenanigans, and embarrassed her CPD brothers and sisters.
