Over-Supervision at 376

We've got a pet peeve concerning what we call "straight-line supervision" in this and other Departments. It's also prevalent in corporate America, and when you see things like "cutting middle management" in the news, that's where CEOs are looking to save money and get rid of useless positions. like Assistant to the Assistant Vice President of something. You also see it a lot in government, which never runs efficiently and always seems to expand it's footprint at the expense of taxpayers, never shrinking.

In the CPD, you'll see a Captain reporting to a Commander. Why? You'll also see a single Deputy Chief reporting to a Chief. Again, why? And speaking of Deputy Chiefs, how come when we came on there were six total Deputy Chiefs and when we leave, there are eighteen?

Another example is Alternate Response. We got this from an e-mailer. After pointing out that 376 already has 1 Captain, 5 Lieutenants, and a boatload of Sergeants, now they're getting another Captain and a Commander:

No word if these new two are POWs....stripped of police powers. It doesn't appear to be the case, but you've already got plenty of white shirts there, some stripped, some not, but all supervisors nevertheless. How about cleaning up this redundant supervisory hiding spot?

How about you can't send an officer to callback for breaking rules, and not just sending them "just because". Fuck this department, BIA, COPA and the small Bicep bitch Snelling.

When wideload (from the gallows) was here, she begged for a take home car to transport her considerably huge bottom to and from work. This junkie couldn't help anyone but is on the PBPA payroll?

The current Captain, Lieutenants, and many of the Sergeants at 376 are all stripped, which is why they are assigned there. Collazo & Fenner are there to actually run the unit. Stripped supervisors are unable to do so, as their computer access to a lot of stuff is limited due to them being stripped.

Peter principle in action. They failed at last task so let’s promote them provided the correct amount of cash changes hands.

This happened because a LT, who had a flashlight incident made himself “acting commanding officer” and was on a power trip! Lots of log#’s & eeoc beefs

I know more than one stripped PO and Supervisor at 376. They were working officers before ending up at police jail. They all told me when a Supervisor ends up at 376 that is not stripped it's usually punishment for being on the medical excessively (yes you have supervisors who are medical abusers). I'm just going to guess that Collazo and Fenner are on the medical. Nieves is the Captain at 376 right now, he's on the medical. Reading my tea leafs tells me the Commander of 002 (Phillips) is next on the hit list. Reading my tea leafs a little further tells me that Waller is going to retire and we will finally get a 1st Deputy (DD). I expect a purge of all the useless hacks, suck ups, and straight criminals promoted under the Johnson and Carter regimes. I'm just guessing.

The other thought is that the department would like to demote Collazo, Fenner, and Philips but are worried about lawsuits. This is the safest way economically to tell them they aren't wanted anymore.

I guess they need the best leadership at ARP? That’s why we have no commend staff out in the districts. They are all shining their britches in ARP?

wtf is "acting commanding officer" or "commanding officer"? I see that garbage written in title signatures, reports, etc. Anyone who addresses themselves with this garbage have self-esteem issues. If you're a supervisor, you are the rank that you have and nothing else. Outside this job you're f***ing nobody! That includes you Dana Omalley, quit being a f***ing bully!

Isn't Fenner the one who was given the answers to the promotional test named in a lawsuit? Oh well. These people get these promotions so they can rape the pension. That's all this is about. These fucks retire as millionaires. Most of us watch our pennies in retirement...not this sack of shit.

You peons simply don't understand because you are peons. When you get promoted, you get a class that gives you special, secret information and knowledge that only promoted people have. That's why promoted people are so much more important than the peons and can never be questioned. Only the best, brightest, and hardest working people get promoted right?

Why do they need a Commander and an XO to run a unit that was previously run just fine by a Lieutenant or a Captain?

top heavy, put a Sergeant in charge. also end the captain as inspector. That is another job that should be staffed by Sergeants . Clown that changed it was an outsider, he didn't know that most District Commanders and above were from rank of LT. Captain rank shoud be to replace District Commanders, not inspectors. Waste of money.

Captain Fenner worked in 7 as a PO school resources officer, she was so bright that the school Sgt had to call in beat officers to complete simple battery case reports, yes I'm sure she is the brightest person in the building, NOT!!!!!! the only reason she made captain was because she sued her former husband Eddie "let me get a BJ" Johnson for not promoting her to captain quick enough.

When I worked 376 tact, Lt. Bob Weiskopf ran it all. There was only stripped sergeants and sergeants on light duty there. Usually any higher rank than sergeant that was stripped worked at headquarters, stripped detectives also worked at headquarters
