Remember during the winter months, car windows are almost always closed up tight and the heaters are going full blast:
Two Chicago police officers and another person sustained minor injuries Sunday night when a vehicle collided with a patrol car at an intersection on the Near North Side.
According to police, at about 8:15 p.m. in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue, a black sedan was going north on Michigan Ave. when it collided with a marked patrol vehicle that was going east on Illinois Street with lights and sirens activated.
The two officers inside the patrol vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to an area hospital in good condition, police say.
Clear those intersections people, because the Traffic Review Board isn't going to accept excuses.

Add to the problem, I see a ridiculous amount of people driving with headphones in and over the ear and scrolling Tik Tok while driving,

The TikToc police don’t know what that means, SCC. No common sense in 95% of what gets hired these days. But they sure know how to upload videos of their partner throwing fists (another topic, these kids sure the fuck can’t fight) with gang bangers.

These new kids drive like it’s Grand Theft , especially amongst the hair gel and backward carhart cap wearing and long pony tail blue line nail polish tack-tickle /CST cowboys like it’s the Wild West . Not long ago on Z12 a CST squad was heading to a suspicious person job possibly checking car doors they were flying up Narraganset nothing activated headlights off , going dark trying to sneak up on them won’t do any good if you get T-boned warriors
There are IDIOTS that think “I Got lights and sirens on” I’m good no you ensure it’s clear and then go I don’t care if my mom is waiting for me idiots going thru stop signs and lights without looking! Almost crashed many times with others driving. That’s why there are consequences to this BS

Enforce the law then. Driving with headphones/earbuds is against traffic code.

Last year FTO in my district dropped off his PPO at the WOL office for DSS and desk to babysit. At checkoff we found out PPO started playing loud ghetto rap music and recording tick tock videos in the car. How is this behavior allowed.

Wonder if the civilian vehicle had the usual dark-tint windows that allow them to see nothing during the day, let alone at night.

There are so many frigging idiots on the road with not a clue on how to drive. Must you be up my arse when there is another lane available and we are the only two cars on the road? When the sirens are blaring repeatedly, look around, slow down, and pull over to the side for clearance of these emergency vehicles. If you hear an ambulance with its sirens on and its lights flashing, it means that individual has a fighting chance. Give that ambulance a clear path! If that was you in that worse case scenario, you would want to know others moved aside to offer their best wishes at you overcoming your injuries! Be aware and get off your gadgets.And get to know the lay of the land. Buy a frigging map. Quit relying on GPS, because it will have you die at a stoplight or the succession of stoplights. Get your heads out of your rump and start driving better. Oh, and BTW, when you are the "One eyed Bandit" driving with one headlight or the moron with no lights, get them fixed. Lights burn out. Electrical issues in your car occur. While you are at it check all your lights including your brake lights. And one last thing, all cars come with High Beams and Low Beams. You all do not need to have your brights on all the time. It looks assinine!

These young coolers, amd even older coppers, really need to stop at intersection I ns, make sure everyone stops then go through. So many people drive so much worse than ever
We need more driver education in schools amd public service announcements.
Even a 10-1 isn't worth driving without any regard to traffic safety. You're
no good to those calling for help if you never make it there to assist them.
