Nice Job

The City continues to be broke:

  • The Chicago Transit Authority paid more than $1 million to employees to stay at home and not work since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a newly released report.

The workers were paid for a five-day workweek when they were on the job only three days a week, according to the Illinois Office of Executive Inspector General, which investigates misconduct complaints against CTA employees.

The 10 workers were in the CTA’s vault unit, which packages, ships and processes currency from the agency’s fare boxes. Money handlers could only do their jobs at a secure facility — and not at home, according to the inspector general’s report.

While at home, the CTA workers logged more than 31,000 hours of work and were paid a total of $1.12 million from March 2020 through February of this year — including about $300,000 paid after the CTA announced employees should return to the workplace full time in May 2022.

Chicago needs even more stay-at-home jobs. Since they don't want the police fighting crime, perhaps they could all do reports from home?

What a racket? This City is hopelessly swirling down the drain of corruption. And the majority of taxpayers don’t give a shit about fixing the problem. Can’t wait to leave this God Forsaken Shithole.

Nobody cares anymore. Just numbers on a piece of paper. Like emporer porkulous said about ppp loans " people needed money in a hurry, mistakes were made, we don't have time to chase this." It's just gubmint money's, who gives a fuck,we got to keep the base in bread and circuses. Think in the near future when the country collapses and there is no longer ANY gubmint aid and their base is burning cities to the ground the democrats might rethink how they treated the police.? They will have plenty of time to think about it while THEIR base takes everything from them. Karma bitches

All disability officers should have the 311 calls routed to their houses where they take the reports laying sideways on the couch.

An Area One detective is working from home. This female was sent for a psychological evaluation after many crazy episodes. She is suing the city as a result of being forced to submit to the evaluation and finding a peanut in her mailbox.

Who ever conducted the evaluation determined that she was fit to work. However, the detective said she couldn't work in the Area with all of the other detectives watching her. She demanded a private office downstairs in the 002 District. That didn't happen. A compromise was reached. She now works "remotely".

The unions have a part in it, but the employer sets the work rules, regs, and requirements.

There is talk in Springfield about a transportation police force. Let's just hope you don't have to be trans to work there.

back when the fair was a dime and there were mountains of dimes in the CTA facilities to be counted, it was reported that workers would just basically bring a wheelbarrow and take dimes home...

When you suggested report writing from home I can only imagine the countless CPD clouted favorites of all ranks telling you to shut up since right now they don't even do that in exchange for all the ghost payrolling they can successfully claim as their only accomplishment on this job.
