Speed Cameras Going Active
The trial period is over for the sixteen new ones that went up last month:
Some drivers in Chicago will be walloped with unexpected tickets when 16 new speed cameras go live June 1.
The new cameras, mostly placed on the North Side, are about to finish a 30-day warning period and a two-week blackout period so notices could be delivered.
History shows the new cameras will issue significantly more tickets in their first days as drivers adjust their speeding habits. In the past four years, most new cameras hit motorists the hardest in their first couple of months of issuing tickets, according to a Chicago Sun-Times/WBEZ analysis.
Conehead is determined to extract a minimum of $11 million in fines this year alone with a further thirty-four cameras being installed shortly.

Just throwing it out there if anyone uses Apple Maps it will warn u far ahead of the speed or red light camera locations. It’s a life saver.
Make the lights flash, feed an illegal

Follow the speed limit and you have no issue. Have not had one yet. Speeding or red light tickets.

Make Speed Cameras Great Again
Imagine the ticket revenue if they tickets bicyclists for running red lights, riding on the sidewalks, and reckless riding.
Spent a few years in 18. Tourists used to come from everywhere in the Midwest since they loved Chicagos museums for their kids. Mom and dad might go shopping, see a show. Maybe go to Wrigley and see a game. They'd get a room and stay for a week. If they get home and get a hundred dollar ticket in the mail YOU SURE AS HELL KNOW THEY AIN'T COMING BACK. AND THEY'LL TELL EVERYONE THEY KNOW NOT TO COME HERE ALSO.
Willing to bet those cameras in ghetto just become prime targets for the funnin.

As invasive as it sometimes feels, I put my Google maps on everywhere in the city though I know where I’m going. It alerts me to every speed and red light camera
O’Shea has to be licking his chops. The speed camera at I believe 10540 S Western Ave generated the most tickets with over 113,000 tickets sent out last year
My question is, at any given point in Chicago there is a bullet flying through the air, you would think at least one of them would hit one of these cameras. Come on shitheads, do something useful.

More than half the time they can't even hit each other on the sidewalk 30 ft away when trying their damnedest, how do you think they'd be able to hit a shoebox-sized target at that height?

While we’re add it, can they flash and ticket for morons that do 10-15mph under the speed limit? Impeding the flow of traffic is also a crime
There's one that gets drivers with the same camera in both directions on the far south side. Indiana cars have no front plate so they never got me...
It’s Chicago- I’ve not seen a slow driver since pre Covid. Not even a lie- I was driving on Sheridan, doing 5 miles over limit. Had a van on my ass the whole time. I was in left lane as I always do if other traffic is faster. Van angrily veers from behind after she honks several times . She goes around and then in front of me and speeds off. Old bag pushing 70 with handicapped plates. All that commotion and she’s at the same red light I’m at 10 minutes later.
Once again your mayor Johnson wants to tell you to have a "Happy Africa Day". Remember that guy said "Happy Africa Day" on our Country's Memorial Day this year. Keep that activity coming in peasants.
