Officers Injured
Chicago police officers and two young children were among those injured in a car crash Wednesday evening on the city's South Side, sources told ABC7.
The crash happened around 6:376 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Racine Avenue in Englewood, Chicago Police Department officials said.
A vehicle driven by a 32-year-old woman was traveling in a turn lane on 59th Street when it struck a CPD squad car, with emergency lights on, that was traveling on Racine, police said.
It'll be determined to be "preventable." Guaranteed.
Speedy recovery wished to all involved.

It will be preventable because they only used lights and not the siren.
Too many coppers use only the lights. You’re not sneaking up on anyone in 2025. When the lights are on, keep the siren on. You should want them to hear the siren and leave before you get there. That’s best case scenario.
Also, when the lights AND siren go on, turn on your body camera. Too many people get jammed up for the simplest shit.
No license no insurance failure to yield sounds about right ghetto lotto in sight
First, I hope everyone involved is OK. Second, that’s exactly what the City came back and told me about a year ago when some lady crashed into me. It was “preventable”. She was on her phone, admitted she wasn’t paying attention, crashed into me. I was Box 2. Still not good enough in the eyes of this dumpster fire.
Lawyers are salivating.
Of course preventable.. have you seen the way these kids drive. Don't clear intersections before going through when they have the red or a stop sign. They drive at 80 plus mph no matter the call and priority. As for your comment about sirens ... you obviously know nothing about policing. First off the sirens arent reliable as attention grabbers, especially in the ghetto where everyone is either on their cell phone, physically or mentally. Second, if not on their cell phone they have the cars radio volume on 200 and wouldnt hear a plane landing on them. Third, the sirens bouncing off the building usually throw anyone that does hear them a false sence of the sirens positioning. It all boils done to driving skills and carelessness.
Ghetto rat was passing on the right like they all do. It will still be deemed preventable
Englewood is one of the district's that should not have police, fire or ems services, and only have a small tiny medical facility until the plague that resides there either moves or expires.
It’s ‘preventable’ only if you were not there per insurance company.
In '95 I was driving to a 10-1 at Armitage and Homan. While enroute from Western ave. There was a vehicle stopped at Washtenaw with the left turn signal on. I had the lights and sirens on and put the spot light in the driver's rear mirror. The driver who was eating a gyro waited til I passed on the left turned into my passenger side forcing onto the sidewalk. I didn't hit anything when interviewed the driver stated "I saw the lights and heard the siren but he could've passed on the right. " Sgt. and Watch Commander made non preventable. The 014 D/C "The Mambo King" on his last day before going to Auto Theft Commander said F___k him, give him a day. It doesn't matter what you do the department always will bone the patrolman.
Traveling in a turn lane? Is that equivalent to passing stopped traffic on the right or the far left anticipating a light change racing to the front of the stopped traffic to take the checkered flag
What's with all the truck accidents on illinois highways anyway? Another one flipped over, stopping traffic, blocking all lanes. Are there no exams anymore, they just giving them away again like under Ryan?
2. Proceed past a red or stop signal or stop sign,
but only after slowing down as may be required and necessary for safe operation;
The foregoing provisions do not relieve the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle from the duty of driving with due regard for the safety of all persons, nor do such provisions protect the driver from the consequences of his reckless disregard for the safety of others.
Officer displays her weapon but was not prepared to use it. The mental criminal was disarmed her was. Female officer should be looking for a new line of work but in this day and age, will probably be promoted for her "de-escalating" by letting the criminal take her gun.

Rarely used the sirens, they gave me a headache. I got on the PA, and made my own siren-like noises, "RRRRRRrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRR". It workeded way better than the sirens. People pulled over way more often too.
No reason or radio call exists to drive that fast anywhere, unless it's a 10-1 and you are 1-2 blocks away. If it's a 10-1, get there safely and quickly because you are useless if you get into an accident on the way, and if you are coming from a distance you won't be there first anyways. Better to keep your eyes open for the suspects who are going the opposite direction you are going.
Maybe, but it sure is a great place to learn. You can cram 10 years of police work anywhere else into 6 months in 007.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public when they are out driving.
Expect the unexpected.
Otherwise, glad you were ok except for losing the day, that sucks but hopefully you tied it to your weekend.
Amen.
Just because your lights and sirens are on, don't expect people to pull over, slow down, stop, or not turn into or in front of you. Never trust them.
The worst drivers to look out for on the way to a "hot call" are other police officers, sad to say.
Car radios don’t go up to 200
Yeah, car radios only go up to 11....
Another tactical Barbie with the nails. She is on the fast track to supervisor, probably passing over the poor officer who had to take out her garbage by shooting the criminal.
==The mental criminal was disarmed her was.==
Say what now? Maybe slow down on the 'shrooms before posting
