Another Shotspotter Miss
We smile every time these pop up:
A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle in Gresham on Friday night, but witnesses who heard the gunfire didn’t call police until they saw the man slumped over in his car about an hour later, according to an officer at the scene.
The shooting happened in the 8800 block of South Lowe Avenue in a neighborhood that used to be covered by the city’s now-shuttered ShotSpotter gunfire detection system. If the system had still been active, it could have alerted first responders even though no one who heard the gunfire called for help.
It's amusing that Shotspotter might have helped.
It's even more amusing that the neighborhood doesn't care enough to call in "shots fired" for over an hour.
This by itself should be justification for Larritorious to pull every officer out of that District and send them somewhere that actually wants the police around.

No surprise that 022 missed this. The entire watch patrols from the parking lot behind 022. They sit there, hide and reluctantly leave only when they get a call. The LT’s on 3rd watch are push overs, the day guys don’t care about anything and just about everyone hates KR on midnights. The LT’s just sit and do nothing. The sgts are lazy and do nothing. Days does nothing. 022 has some of the biggest mutts of any district, ESPECIALLY 3rd watch. These guys on 2nd and 3rd watch will put more work into avoiding making an arrest in their own neighborhood than if they actually made the arrest. 1st watch just doesn’t exist. God forbid somebody does a GPS of 3rd watch cars after 9pm… then does a GPS of 1st watch cars after 3 or 4am.. a lot of people would get in ALOT of trouble.. 1 or 2 on the street for the entire district that size? Some LT’s and sgts would be sweating if they saw those GPS results.
People./folks are dying without shot spotter! These are coneheads constituents. He don’t care!!!
The correlation between these events' victims and their history would be rather interesting.
Rumors have it that 022 moved the victim to 006 side of 87.Street

I understand your frustration, but does this surprise you ? The politicians don’t want anyone doing any police work. The guys doing police work get punished and the guys that do nothing get rewarded. Shot Spotter funding was slashed. Lets go brandon has taken an ax to this essential law enforcement tool. Cuts have consequences. As red light cameras and speed enforcement cameras flourish. The party in charge has priorities in this perpetually underfunded democracy.

I think the aldermans should distribute rape whistles. Residents can be instructed to blow the whistle on persons observed with a gun or when shots are fired in addition to taking out their $1,000.00 + cell phone and record the commission of a crime and immediately post on a social media platform.
Residents who witness a shooting from their vehicles should flash their headlights, reduce their speed and sound their horn alerting the community. And then use a community app to text out a message that an on cashless Safe-T-Act bail or electronic monitoring (EM) human asset is actively working criminality at the public way.
Sounds like a good watch...now reach on the cooler and crack open another cold one for me...

My commander had to call the Desk Sgt, to get the hit run report done. Citizen witnessed and left tx and plate number of striking vehicle on windshield. Look at the CAPS office not one police officer assigned with more than four years on the job.

LT. KR is the one Boss that knows the orders and will patrol the streets. Don't blame Officers from 22, blame conehead for breaking shot spotter contract because it was RACIST TECHNOLOGY. It was used to alert police to black people shooting other black people, sometimes even hispanics would misbehave. I have personally called Police for suspicious people or vehicles and the response has always been fast,with a few cars responding.
I'm sure there are a few dogass supervisors that are afraid to supervise the beat cars. 22 needs 20 beat cars, not 9.

Guys who patrol the neighborhood where other cops, fireman and city workers live.. actual good parts of society, and will blow off jobs. You wanna be fetal? Blow off jobs? Then go to 011, or 007 or somewhere else where the neighborhoods don’t really support and appreciate the police. Beverly and Mt Greenwood support the police, send food on holidays, appreciate the work they do and what does 022 do?? They stay fetal because it’s the “cool” thing to do.. aka, I’m lazy and don’t want to do anything so I can just blame outside influences. Hate to tell you, you go to other districts in the city and work is still getting done on the watches… not as much as it use to be but way more than in 022. How do I know?? CAPS officers are useless,assign them to Beat cars ,answering calls,actually helping citizens.since they are so special,allow them to work 3rd watch and handle all beat meetings.
