Government Shutdown Ending!
Thank goodness! We don't know what we would have done if it had gone on for another forty days!
Guess who voted to open the government back up?
Sen. Dick Durbin is once again under fire for voting on a Republican-led measure that would end the government shutdown — angering Democrats who say the extension of health care subsidies must be part of any deal with Republicans.
Durbin on Sunday joined a group of moderate Democrats in a 60-40 vote toward passing a bill to fund the government and to hold a later vote on extending Affordable Care Act tax credits that expire Jan. 1. The agreement would also reverse mass firings of federal workers that began Oct. 1, the day the shutdown began, with workers to receive back pay.
This was all political theater with dems blaming republicans for their shutdown, while everyone with a brain knew it would take 60 votes in the first place:
That was the vote pretty much every time it came up for the past month, with dems attempting to (A) get free healthcare for ILLEGAL ALIENS and (B) subsidies for the "affordable" health care.
They got neither and Dickless Durbin - who's retiring - knew he wouldn't face voters again, so he caved along with a bunch of other senators in vulnerable seats. Now everyone can get back to grafting tax money.

No Dickless Durbin did not Cave , He is hoping by Voting with the Republicans they won't come after him once he leaves office. Dickless knows TRUMP has a shit load of incitements coming down and some really BIG Dummyrats are going to jail. This is why TRUMP is moving the military around like chess pieces . Mostly in Blue state ( most likely to riot ) when their Kings and Queens get arrested.

When he reach 65 and go on MEDICARE and off the city's plan you learn quite quickly just how badly Obamacare fucked up health insurance if you have a younger spouse and shop for health care plans.
He doesn't care because he is retiring and doesn't have to run a re-election campaign next year.
There is NO WAY that this wasn’t already “in the works” as an off ramp to get the Dems out of the shutdown, since Trump wasn’t caving. All 8 of these Dems are voter-free (2 retiring, 6 not up for re-election for 4-6 years) so NO consequences for “caving in” and voting yes. Liberal Dems want Schumer out, and played him for all he was worth, with deceit and treachery. Sure helped to have 90% of the MSM spewing lies and hiding the true Dem wishlist of $1.5 trillion - while blaming the “Republican Shutdown”. All day, every day.
Durbin seemed to acknowledge that this was all a political show. And more real harm was being done to government employees and the SNAP recipients than any political gain the Democratic Party would get. He only admitted this because he was leaving. It makes you wonder how many other times in his 30 year Senate career has he voted with the party, for purely political reasons, when he knew it was stupid and harmful to the country overall.
It was more than just healthcare for illegals they wanted. There was billions in there that the Dems wanted for foreign aid like $24.6 million to build climate resilience in Honduras” and “$13.4 million for civic engagement in Zimbabwe. Dems only focus attention on the healthcare which always had a sunset, that's not new

So, Dick (No-Balls) Durbin pissed off the democratic party? That's not hard to do nowadays. Refusing to cater to the far lefts agenda that serves under 1 percent of Americans is enough. The democrats knew they would not get their way with out both chambers and the white house. They got nothing, no concessions nothing. So all of this 40 day government shut down, and think about all the media coverage for a month and a half...and it was all for nothing.
Thank God. Get these slug federal workers back to doing whatever it is they do. They were taking up all the early tee times down here in Florida.
And, despite all the whining, not a single one quit and took a non-government job.
