The good news is Chicago's financial problems are finally hitting a national audience.
The bad news is it isn't a huge audience and there probably isn't any way to stop it entirely:
There's nothing hotter than a little blue-on-blue action, and things are getting steamy at Chicago's City Hall as Mayor Brandon Johnson and his allies go to war with other Democrats over the scraps of the Windy City's finances
We're in the endgame now.
Jim Talamonti reported for Center Square on Tuesday that Johnson's allies "launched a seven-figure campaign" to support the mayor's budget because opponents argue that "the mayor’s tax plans will send the city into an economic death spiral and could bring about costly litigation."
As of today, Chicago's political position is probably best described as paralysis.
The blue shithole cities and states are going to have to fail....and fail badly, for there to be any real efforts at reform. It's an interesting article, but offers no real solutions.

Interesting article, but the misgendering of Ald. Dowell makes me wonder just how accurate his "facts" are.
So I went to a meeting not along ago in which a ward has a proposed 100% affordable housing project on the table. When questioned about cost- $21 million for 44 units (we all know it will double when various connected pockets get their share). The calculation being roughly $477,272.00 for each unit. When questioned about cost as to how financially sound that is, the Ward Chief of Staff (Arena’s former handmaiden) said two things that stuck out essentially “Eh, it’s HUD federal money” and that “That’s nothing green compliant generally are 800k per unit (again confirming this will double). When asked “what if federal money is pulled? “ The question was dismissed as never going to happen. $477k for an apartment someone never owns, but someone else is sure getting paid. What an awful way to profit off the taxpayer $.
Blue city mayors like BLM Brandon are just waiting out Trump's presidency in the hopes a new democrat administration will open up the public funding floodgates! Otherwise known as OPiuM (Other People's Money) It's addictive!
I just can’t wait to retire and move away. I just hope the pension will get 20 years. If not I’ll have to work at 70 and 80 if I live that long.
Brandon is going to drive The City to bankruptcy. We need a law that allows for recall of incompetent elected officials.

The solution is to encourage all people that Brandon supports to leave Chicago for greener pastures. Once they leave for other places then achicago can be great again.
