Embattled Chicago police Det. Marco Torres discussed plans to pay a gang member “a grand” to “get rid of” a fellow female detective he was convicted of assaulting during an abusive relationship, a newly filed lawsuit alleges.
Torres texted another officer on May 20, 2024, and asked for his ex-girlfriend’s home address, saying he needed it to pay the would-be hit man, according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court.
Torres was later convicted of threatening the life of the plaintiff, who filed the lawsuit anonymously as “Jane Doe” and already has a pending whistleblower lawsuit against Torres and the police department.
Torres now faces felony charges of harassing another officer and threatening to get her fired if she testified against him, court records show.
Didn't someone from SOS do ten years behind bars for "soliciting" the murder of a fellow officer?
And this guy, with his habit of beating females, phone harassment, witness intimidation, with one guilty plea already......jeez Snelling, cut your loses and lead the Department away from this useless fuck.
We harp on disbanding the fbi for all of their corruption, but this asshole makes us think disbanding CPD might be a viable option in the near future. Or at least, firing everyone in Personnel who hired this one (along with all the other disasters of late) and then disband the Police Board that can't follow its own disciplinary practices.

I lost all respect for the people running the CPD. For God’s sake who are they hiring. I’m on a watch and no one wants to work. You just cat make this stuff up! Officers wanting to kill other officers. CPD is totally dysfunctional and the people running it are clueless.
The news article said he also took a 15 day suspension for discharging his firearm lol. Not sure what the details were surrounding that, but one rumor is this shitball is the reason why Yolanda Talley retired early.

A/1 Detective Commander Watson dropped the ball on this one. She was the commanding officer of the BIA Confidential when this was reported. Commander Watson has being accused of engaging in gender-based punishments. She ignored the female detective’s complaints although Detective Marco Torres threatened to kill himself and the female detective with the female detective’s firearm via department email. Commander Watson was named in the initial lawsuit, as well. Instead of punishing Detective Torres and taking the appropriate action against Detective Torres, Commander Watson had the female detective transferred to another detective area and prioritized keeping Detective Torres on paid status. Commander Watson also met up with Detective Torres on several occasions to discuss the investigation. After being served with an order of protection, Detective Torres showed up at the area that the female detective was transferred to looking for the female detective. Detective Torres missed the female detective by minutes because she happened to show up for work a few minutes late that day. It was all caught on pod camera.
A few months later, a Cook County judge convicted Detective Torres on the same assault charges that were disregarded by Commander Watson. Detective Torres then texted another female officer and told her that if she testifies on behalf of the female detective, he was going to have his commander (Commander Watson) to get her fired just like she was going to do the female detective. Detective Torres was arrested a second time, but this time for threatening the female officer. After his second arrest, Detective Torres asked the court if he could remain a Chicago police officer and check his firearm in daily to Commander Watson since he was a respondent to the female detective’s order of protection. It’s all public record.
Commander Watson was never punished for putting the female detective’s life in danger, although documented evidence shows that she mishandled the investigation and disregarded the safety and well-being of all involved officers. The BIA investigation were all classified as unfounded.
Another one so many coppers are way outside of the limit limits. Total delusion total lies, but they are protected. How does this work then again you look at the Chicago teachers Union what is their 4 to 500 sexual predators praying on the children? It’s ridiculous. I have long believed there is a corrupt element behind the scenes at CPD. A secret cabal of people who routinely put their own personal desires ahead of any shred of morality they may have left.
When one looks objectively from a distance, you can see the foul nature of these people, who for some reason have ended up with the reins of this department. They make decisions that no right-thinking person would make. It should be easy to point out the bad eggs on this job, but time and time again they are protected by this unseen cabal.
The management of this department is "perfectly" possessed. They may not know it or wont admit it. They will even argue that they are in the right.

I'm retired now. I was amazed at how many people I shared a tour with that were in prison or fired for nefarious reasons. They came to the taverns after work and drank with us. Burglars, shakedown artists, and thieves, all of them. Some were recorded via wires hidden in the company cars.
