Save Some Money

Fire this guy:

  • A high-ranking member of Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration was arrested over the weekend on drunk driving charges outside the Park District’s South Shore Cultural Center, authorities said.

Luis Zepeda, first deputy commissioner of the Department of Streets and Sanitation, was taken into custody about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 7100 block of South Exchange Ave, according to Chicago police, and released later that day.

He was cited for two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and one misdemeanor count of obstructing traffic. It wasn’t immediately clear when his next court date was.

Asked whether City Hall was separately disciplining Zepeda, Johnson’s spokesperson deferred comment to DSS, which confirmed an internal investigation but did not elaborate.

For some reason, the only local coverage was the Tribune, and it's behind a paywall. Every other site seems to have neglected covering this story.

There is information on other sites just run his name, Chicago Streets & Sanitation. You may want to let the Kissing Bandit know there is a rather debonair photo of him on Chicago Flips Red if you use his name.

They didn't mention how much he make, usually they do, especially if it's the police in the news. Im guessing $160k a year. It's going to be a costly incident for not taking a $20 Uber ride.

"First deputy commissioner?" No doubt one of many invented six-figure salaried positions that accomplishes absolutely nothing.

At y gym, they have ch 7 on everymorning. Last week, they had a follow up story on some ICE agent, who was arrested for DUI, a week or so prior. ( No accident, just a simple DUI) They had their cameras on out side of Dupage Co. court to show he when he was to come for his court date. This was on the same day they arrested the DC pipe bomber, yet they didnt cover that story, they followed an ICE agent for a simple DUI, to keep it on the news, and to signal the leftist to know who he was, and when he was to be in court. You cant hate the media enough.

We seem to be at this phase of the decline. Covering for the protected class. It's happened before and we know it, but back then the press corp wasn't taking orders from the political class.

I haven’t seen the Superintendent on TV lately. Is he incommunicado? Could he have gone out of town for a job interview?

One of many deputies and assistant deputies making 200k with no clue. The worst is that the supervisors in various departments have been replaced by idiots.

I wonder if this guy is related to the Zepeda landscaping/construction that used to get all the city contracts years back. The city "cut ties" after they caught caught up in some bribery investigation in new orleans.
