IOD Rumor
We have it from two different people that the officer currently stripped for killing his partner isn't serving at Alternate Response (callback), Unit 376.
He's being carried IOD.
If true, we'd imagine taxpayers would be entitled to know, what type of injury?
Otherwise, shouldn't he be at Callback, answering phones and typing reports, the same as numerous other Officers?

He should be fired because he killed his partner. That is the very least. He just isn’t cut out for police work. It shouldn’t come to all this. You never point your gun at your partner. End of story. He’s lucky you don’t get brought up on some type of charges. Getting off the job is the best thing for him. It’s only a job.

IOD: stress. They are coached nowadays to get the stress/anxiety IOD. Just like that girl who shot her boyfriend after he threatened her coworkers. She was out a year on stress iod.
In regards to JCat's recent youtube video demonizing the recently filed lawsuit and defending PO Baker, how about saying something that makes sense? How did Baker not know he discharged his firearm? Don't give me "stressful" situation. I've been in an OIS and plenty of stress. With our training, practice and experience, not knowing you discharged your weapon doesn't make sense and isn't believable. If Baker was first in the doorway with his weapon at his side or even pointed forward, how did he accidentally shoot his partner in the back with a single shot? It doesn't make sense. I'm sure the family and their attorneys would love to have this cleared up. The only way to do that is to release the videos. Then we can see with our own eyes that which has been so poorly explained by Baker's defenders. I want this to be an accident but I don't accept or believe what is being said about this.

I thought it was odd when the news was reporting on her mother's lawsuit that near the end of their reporting they said Baker was "on paid administrative leave."

Due to the publicly available "Chicago Employee Salaries" on the City of Chicago website, I see this officer makes a whopping taxpayer funded salary of $102,822 a year, not including benefits and pension! A beat cop! Ain't free money great? Long gone are the days when Virgil Tibbs made $162.39 a week as a homicide detective. That still only translates to $75,426.04 a year in 2025 dollars!
The little homicide shooter has been on disability since the incident. It’s common to be “coached” sort of to get on disability. I know two coppers who defended themselves and they never took a day off iod/disability for it. These young coppers are soft in their mental state.

It’s true! The medical administrator wants the officer to stay on IOD for treatment which is not fair to taxpayers. Stress is not an injury on duty. He should have been changed to medical. Plus he’s purposely staying on IOD for treatment to avoid going to callback.
If there are ADDITIONAL ways to mishandle this criminal, you can count on the CPD (along with city hall oversight) to touch ALLLLLLL the bases.

Keep an eye on this case. Could be the opening kickoff of PTSD disability for police officers. While everyone says how stressful police work, PTSD for officers doesn't exist. Perhaps meaningful treatment will be on the way.
