Pension Trustee Election
Via a number of people - the relevant info regarding the election:
- In preparation for the upcoming special election, the Fund is sending this email notification to all eligible annuitant voters who have a valid email address on record with the Fund. The IEA will also be emailing credentials and instructions for casting a vote to all eligible annuitant voters who have a valid email address on record with the Fund in order to ensure eligible voters are aware of the process to cast a vote. The email from the IEA is scheduled to be sent during the day the polls open, January 29, 2026. It will be sent from the email address noreply@directvote.net.Election materials will be sent by both email and USPS mail. Please be on the lookout for emails and notifications in the mail for the special election.Only annuitants who are eligible to vote in this special election will be receiving notice via email and USPS mail. Be on the lookout for these notices.Voting for the Annuitant Trustee Special Election will begin on Thursday, January 29, 2026 and will continue through 11:59 pm (Central Standard Time) on Monday, February 9, 2026.

If you should become the retirees’ trustee on the Pension Board, it is imperative that you learn quickly who your friends are and who they are not. You will be trained and groomed to think like everyone else on that board. How you respond to that will define your legacy.
It will be up to you to be your own man, not swayed by dinners, favors, perks, or the pressure to become part of the “good-old-boys” culture. Disabled officers and retirees have paid dearly for trustees who stopped thinking independently.
If elected, do the right thing. Think for yourself. Take orders from no one, not even JRAT. He’s out for himself!! Serve the retirees, injured and disabled officers, not the system.
Please know that as much as we all may not like Gene Roy for his personality and his time on cpd, there are a lot of positive things he has been doing for us since he retired. Things you do not know about.
He has been instrumental as a civilian in speaking out for officers injured on duty who are getting screwed over by the pension board. He has gone to pension board meetings and called them out on their injustices and corruption.
You may not be aware of how much corruption is going on over there on the pension board. There is a reason they have fought so hard and dirty to keep Ro, and now Gene, away from the Board.
I don't care about someone's shitty personality if they are honest and fighting for me to keep my pension benefits whole. I beg of you to trust us retirees in on the know - vote for Gene.
From what I understand, the FOP-endorsed candidate, Saul Del Rivero, had only 18 years on the job before retiring in 2015, for reasons that have never been clearly explained. After retiring, he reportedly moved to Arizona, where he sold golf carts, then later returned to Illinois and is now working in real estate.
So here’s the question that needs to be asked: how does someone with that background qualify to sit on a pension board, especially when he has never attended a pension board meeting.
There have also been reports that he was collecting signatures for his petition just two days before TL passed away, during an FOP general meeting. If that is true, someone needs to come forward and tell the truth.
Your pension is often all you have after you retire. It deserves transparency, accountability, and trustees who are genuinely engaged and informed. If voters are being influenced to support a candidate simply so someone else can control him, (JRAT) they may regret that decision later, especially if it results in one person consolidating power over the pension board while collecting yet another salary.
Be careful who you vote for. The decisions made now will affect retirees for years to come. VOTE GENE ROY
Saul Del Rivero retired in 2015 with only 18 years on the job, moved to Texas selling golf carts, and suddenly reappears with a polished resume being pushed by Paul V. Now he’s endorsed by the RCPA and the FOP. That alone should tell retirees everything they need to know.
This guy came out of nowhere, and nobody does that in this system without being bought and paid for. If he gets in, nothing meaningful will get done for the next year and a half. He’s getting something out of this, and make no mistake, JRAT and BEYNA will be pulling the strings. Once they get a foothold in our pension fund, we’re in serious trouble.
If you care about protecting your pension and keeping outsiders from controlling it, run in the opposite direction and vote for Eugene Roy.
