Vallas Roasts Rahm
The Contrarian article is quite the read:
There he was. It was Rahm Emmanuel on national television attending a New York Knicks–San Antonio Spurs championship series game. The former Chicago mayor was sitting in floor seats of which the price ranges between $75,000–$135,000. Who knew he was a Knicks fan? It's convenient to have a super-agent brother who also happens to be securing you an interview on practically every mainstream cable show and podcast, lecturing us about how the Democratic Party has lost its way while presenting himself as its moderate voice of reason.
I had been reluctant to write about Rahm, who in presidential preference polling is barely registering. Illinois’ other presidential hopeful — Governor JB Pritzker — is polling at just two percent. One gets the feeling the country is tiring from Illinois expatriates running the country. Not our best export. However, Emanuel took time out of his Don Quixote-like quest for the White House to stop in Chicago to meet with my biggest supporter to urge them not to support me making another run for mayor or a run for Chicago School Board president.
And after that, it's off to the races as Vallas pretty much roasts 9.5 for almost twenty paragraphs.
Fun times and a good reminder of what a tool Rahm always was.

Gee Paul how long were you part of the same daley machine as Rahm? Every job you got was because of the machine. You ran the worst public school system in the country for how many years and still kept your job? Please go away and dont ever run for office again in illinois. You have already lost every possible spot there is.

Paul Vallas needs to just go away. What has he accomplished? What has he done for the police?
Before someone says he helped with our contract then that was a self promotion for himself. The FOP was doing all the hard work and John Catanzaara wanted him on the contract committee. There were strong rumors that he was leaking our negotiating strategies to City Hall. Remember, a politician will always sell you out for their own benefit.

Rahm is the kind of guy that smiles right in your face while shaking your hand, but then drives a knife into your back as you walk away. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

I forgot to add, how soon people forget Rahm’s covering up the police shooting.

Remember Rahm bragging in an email to a friend how he saved millions of dollars by cutting retirees healthcare? POS caused many in their 80’s severe financial problems in the last years of their lives to save the city a multi billion dollar corporation a few million bucks.
Paul Vallas has all the answers, but everyone seems to forget that he was the financial director for the City while Daley, Burke, and his cronies rob the City blind, and never heard a peep out of him then. And speaking of the cheap, arrogant Burke, Vallas wrote a letter of leniency for him before Burke went to jail for a week. Vallas also couldn’t figure out that his Mayoral runs split the vote so we got the Mayor with the biggest Dick, and now Conehead.

There was a time long ago when a college degree actually presented a meaningful credential, and a signal of some degree of smarts. Rahm attended Sarah Lawrence, a historically female-only finishing school for not-so-smart rich girls, as a modern dance major, a classic sign of rich kid with a poor HS academic record and likely modest intellect.

Eye roll. A lot of what Vallas attempts to trash in that article was good. Making it harder for the teachers to strike, identifying the CTU as part of the problem, raising property taxes so give the city a stronger financial footing after the mess Daley created, closing school. He was competent. Not something we can say about the next too.

how about cpd assign captains to 12 hour shifts, two per district and a pool to fill in when captains on furlough. CPD needs a leader in every district. No more merit captain rank, give a written 100 multiple choice questions, immediately followed up by a 3 questions with short written answers of 1 to 3 paragraphs. Then a 10 to 20 minute video of a situation and future captain must answer orally ,recorded with a 4 to 9 minute response on what actions would be taken.
