Thirty-five years for Attempted Murder:
A man who shot a Chicago police officer in the face in Lincoln Park and then yelled, “You will die!” pleaded guilty Monday to attempted murder and was sentenced to 35 years in prison, court records show.
[...] At one point, prosecutors said, McPherson ripped an officer’s COVID-19 mask off and grabbed the officer in a bear hug.
McPherson then moved into the parking lot, sat inside the woman’s car with the door open, and allegedly told an officer, “I got a gun, too.”
“What? You want to fight?” McPherson allegedly asked the officer as body-worn camera footage recorded the encounter. “I’m not leaving. This is a good a** gun, too, b****.” After an officer alerted others that McPherson was armed, McPherson allegedly responded, “Y’all not going to get this. I’m too strong for this s***.”
Prosecutors said McPherson then pulled a handgun from beneath his legs and pointed it at the first officer, who could see directly down the barrel of the weapon. The officer grabbed the gun and pushed it away from his face. Two shots were fired, and one bullet struck the officer in the cheek, causing a through-and-through wound.
Literally, inches away from death.
He'll serve 85% of the sentence (29.75 years) but probably gets credit for the five years spent in custody.

What I'm reading here says - wild man. Offender controls situation. Moving around, in and out of stores, cars, etc. while running mouth all salty, challenges, death threats, even self-reports being armed. Well, he meant it. Ain't afraid of no po-lice.

There were also several complaints over St. George’s flags, including one filed to West Yorkshire Police, which branded them ‘distasteful’. [Rubber boat invaders don't like them.]
In Wiltshire, a child called police after a stranger told them off for saying ‘sidewalk’ rather than 'path'.

At that one point, dude should have been clubbed to the floor and locked up. The shooting never would have happened.
Of course, the same Ulta Beauty employees who summoned the cops for help would have taped the clubbing and called Sharpton and Crump.

I didn't see the body cam footage but confused as to why the officer let this guy go after that bear hug...and if the offender stated he had a gun, why didn't the officer have his weapon pointed at the offender?!
Him getting credit for the last 5 years in custody is nauseating to me...the sentence should begin fresh...

Hopefully he will get killed in prison or contract some disease and die. Wishful thinking on my part.
Lessons need to be learned, whether its murder or attempt murder, these assholes should be spending LIFE in prison. Bad decisions = consequences.
Let him out. I will lay odds that he will take the sidewalk temperature within days of his release! And on that date, I will buy the attendant taking the temperature a cold drink and hot meal…..as long as this animal is above ground and wasting oxygen, expect his name to appear again as an offender.
They acquitted the Scotsgirl who pulled a knife and hand axe on a child trafficking asshole at a public park tho. Her family nearly went broke trying to keep her out of reform school...they ended up charging the asshole and his sister for solicitation I believe..

What possesses these lunatics, their absolute hatred of any type of authority? Police, Trump, etc. Hatred, deprived jags. Hope the Officer somehow recovers, and frosting on the cake might be this bastard dropping over in prison.
That guy should be dead.
