Any Truth to This One?
We get emails regularly alleging all sorts of things.
Some are obviously trolls. Some sound like something that could happen:
- So the latest from the Police Department news, they are going to strip Northside Police Districts of their most important resources, Patrol Officers. Some districts are losing from 25 to 50 Officers, depending on their actual Officers assigned.
These Districts are already short from everything we've seen and heard. Sometimes someone sends us the daily worksheets and the cars are half staffed. Someone sent us pictures of a parking lot and it was full of unused squad cars. We couldn't determine if it was shift change or something else, so we filed it under "interesting" but didn't post about it.
Moving Officers though - now you're talking about Contract violations and time-and-one-half for being shipped out of bid spots. After all the talk about OT cuts, we can't see paying dozens of Officers OT just for showing up for work.
But we know where there are something like 150 Officers guarding a west side residence and driving family members around when there used to be only twenty-four in years past.
They're all Detailed, so Contractual protections may not be as big of a hurdle.

Pritzkers only stay because JB is running the state, but soon I expect the younger Crowns may be gone, along with any other person with enough cash to do so. A sad end to a city that came back from fire and flood. Foolishness was the fatal blow.
Maybe get the mistress desk dolly’s and side chicks out of their inside spots and CAPS and move them to patrol or is that too crazy a thing?

Don’t believe it that would be almost an entire watch in some. Although changes are coming PRT is gone they will be molded into the new “Large Gathering Unit” which will basically be summer mobile. In the winter won’t be a bad a unit

I thought I've seen the worse during the 2020 riots and it's aftermath but 3-4 99 cars on 1W with no designated wagon plus 1 down on BS Traffic Mission has been the norm.

Put CAPS officers on a Beat Car. Stop catering to the local politicians and clergy men and women. Make the hire private security to babysit their events.

How many coppers are hiding behind desk spots in Force Review and Bureau of Constitutional Policing? What about the academy with all of this non essential training? The police shortage could end real quick if these units were to be disbanded and these coppers put back in a district.

Get rid of Cap officers, Mounted Patrol, All Officers on the desk, Half the Officers assigned to the Acadamy, and send them back to Patrol on the street.Also get all the Watch Commanders out on the street too answer calls. Phoenix P.D does that.
That’s the great thing about “detailed” those people are still counted as manpower in the district/unit they came from. It’s a two for one counting scam.
A bogus rumor. Maybe they will do strategic deployment o.t.or whatever they called it. Definately lots full of squad cars. Need to hire like 5000 more officers. Get rid of bike lanes so store fronts return for revenue. Buy back parking meters and increase revenue. More coppers might have time to write sone extra tickets to make the good sgt happy and increase revenue.

superintendent needs to dump every exempt member that has more than the allowed number of administrative and CAPS officers assigned . Conehed needs to hire private security.

Bottom line 3rd watch should be fully staffed. Everything is open and the city will take a huge liability if someone gets hurt. The fop should be negotiating the reason why a district needs a certain amount of officers. Do not look at calls of service but the demographics hospitals, lake front property, houses of worship, mentals roaming the streets, half way homes and so on. Most of the jobs inside should be civilians. A commander does not need an officer to answer a simple phone call. It will humble most people who are on a high horse.

Officers in our north side district are able to work almost every rdo because we are so short. We even have officers working their rdos and still have down cars. How can they drain us anymore?

That rumor has been around for a while. Old rumors are usualy just old rumors.
When they open a new unit or detail they usualy over staff it as part of an agreement. The department then slowly peels off personell and equiptment over several years. The example was the JISC. Lots of personell and vehicles when it opened. When it closed, it has a sgts car and 1/3rd the personnell. OB's library will be a resource drain at first, but if history has anything to say the staff there will dwindle. Memory will fade and manpower will be short. They may even have an Lt and a couple sgt at first. That will change. Fast forward, and Ill bet that a solitary footpost will be assigned there. Kind of like the Cardinals house up in 018.
150 police officers is way too many. if someone actualy tries to harm BJ the clown, I cant believe any of them would step in and do anything about it. No one with any self respect anyways. No way would I step into harms way for that fool. If he was screaming for help, I would say "We cant arrest our way out of this boss" and " Law Enforcement is a sickness!" you cant have it both ways.

It’s all from the reallocation in the next year or two. PRT is going to be downsized to a citywide unit of 100. The drifting team from 216 will also be included in that 100. Won’t be called PRT anymore. Will still deploy to hotspots but used for large gatherings, trends, drifters, car caravans and anything else that normally drains districts. They will just get bounced from one spot to another throughout the night to help break up parties and work the trends. Doing this will allow many of the tac teams to stay in the districts instead of detailing them 3 days a week.
