Prosecutors said the substance cathinone, commonly known as khat, has “no acceptable medical use” and presents “a high degree of addiction.”
Golly, sounds dangerous. They're in custody, right?
- Mustapha Fisuru, 24, and Tiekoro Diawara, 25, are each charged with manufacture-delivery of a controlled substance and controlled substance trafficking. Judge James Costello denied the state’s request to detain both men.
So passports confiscated? Restrictions placed upon the drug runners? Or are the Courts just making them "pinky promise" to show up for their next appearance and not flying back to Asia?

Apparently the judge did listen to the facts of the stop. We will be reading about these two scumbags again unless they are already back in Africia.
Didn't someone do the same with a bunch a coke not long ago and they weren't detained.

Same as the weed from last week. It's a non violent crime and no background. It doesn't meet federal threshold. State won't do a thing. They are all back home already. It's nothing new. Every single day there are huge amounts of contraband going in and out of Chicago. It's the hub of the midwest. More important is the money. And even more important is CPD has been doing nothing for years. We haven't had a transportation for years. All those teams are gone and so is the money they recovered. It's been so long since those teams existed that there isn;t anyone working that even knows how to do that work. You think there is a lot at the airport, the traind and buses have way more. All unchecked. There is money and drugs moving around Chicago more then ever. CPD is a giant clown car with mr. magoo driving.

HSI investigates criminal activity for CBP. The Federal Magistrate declined charges for no reasons.
Maybe the self cleaning oven will take care of these two deliverymen. That is of course if they weren’t just the decoy to get the real load through.

That goes for just about ever cannabis case too. The feds dont want it. The big goof with khat is that it looses its potency as soon as it starts to wilt. So if they are charged by the state, the state lab will get around to test it some time next month. By then it will be a big brown puddle. The lab results will say its untestable and case dismissed. State lab has to come out and get samples at the time of seizure. Call the lab and ask them. They won't know how to do any of that. Just like CPD.

Product may indeed follow tsunami of Biden illegals. But Trump's DOJ at fault here. These guys should face federal prosecution, short jail terms--do YOU want to feed them for many years--and immediate deportation. Cook County will not punish.
