Don't Be Dumb Part II
Everything is tracked and traceable to you:
A now former Joliet police officer has been accused of abusing the Flock license plate reader database, according to Illinois State Police.
Jeremy Harrison, 50, faces a charge of computer tampering and official misconduct in Will County, according to Illinois State Police, which conducted the investigation after accusations were made against Harrison.
Court documents say the alleged offense occurred July 23, 2025, when Harrison was serving as a lieutenant with the Joliet Police Department.
Investigators offered no other details on the case. Harrison is due back in court Nov. 17, per court records.
Harrison makes for at least the third known case of a law enforcement being accused of misusing the database that tracks millions of drivers’ real-time locations in Will County this year.
Of course, police shouldn't be mis-using tools like these. But perhaps the more pertinent question is why are companies (and government) tracking millions of drivers in real time without some known purpose? Just because they can doesn't mean they should.

These cameras shouldn't exist in the first place. It's mass surveillance that no one asked for and no one of the common class will benefit from. Think of this folks, the technology to track pretty much anyone on this planet has already existed for years now. But it's only used when it's beneficial to those in the ivory tower. For example, every person who attended J6 had every single footstep they made tracked. They could pinpoint the exact times every one of them farted that day and beyond. But they can't track down pedos, illegals, or rioters. Uh huh... For those of you in favor of Fluck, just wait until they start programming them for traffic violations and you start getting tickets in the mail for distracted driving, not using signals to change lanes, rolling stops, ect. It's already happening in other districts.
Information is worth money

To answer your question, because LPRs are invaluable tools
Years ago it was giving out rap sheets that got people fired.
Well, in order to track someone specific or see where they’ve been. You must record it all. Is it all being used? No. But it’s part of a bigger program. Have you seriously never used a LPR before?
of the 23,000 searches conducted by CPD officers & detectives in the last few months, "every single one of them did have a reason attached to it, for specific crimes.
