Self Defense...in Chicago?
- A suspect has been released in connection with the fatal shooting of 33-year-old man Sunday morning in the Clearing neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
At 5:18 a.m., a 30-year-old woman was being battered by Damien Hernandez in the 6900 block of West 65th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The woman pulled out a gun and shot him three times, police said.
Hernandez, who lived on the same block, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Police called the incident a “domestic” situation. The woman was taken into custody after the shooting, but was released without being charged with a crime, police said Tuesday morning.
Well golly, the mayor and his fellow traveling leftists would be all behind this one, right? Right?

Released without being charged with a crime -- as it should be.
NO NO NO!
Didn't Kimesha "My Peoples an' Folkses Revenge" Foxx
and all the progressive, "Gun Control" nanny-statist
vow much pain and punishment on anyone exercising
their right to armed self-defense in Chicago and
Cook County?
"If you shoot one of our constituents to
protect yourself, we will prosecute, jail,
defame and financially ruin you..."
Right?
So why is this woman walking around free,
unencumbered and not being made an example
of by the media, the City of Chicago and
the Cook County Court System?
Or is all that special treatment reserved
for the one particular demographic subset
that is most assuredly on the outs with the
pandering powers that be in this G*d-Forsaken
town?
>Crickets<
"That's why we hate you guys!"
The extreme fear of guns in all the right
hands and fear of the rightfully irate
self-protective/defensive mindset too.
When the upright man/woman abandons
the vehicle of civility to deal with
the evil that progressivism seeks to
enshrine and protect.
Some old, forgotten early/mid 20th Century
Upright Gunman had it right...
"It's YOUR hide.
how much do you value it?"
>Only you mean, angry, maladjusted
bitter clinger types think it's ever
ok to fight back<
Bet she wasn't called to the scene. Bet he didn't have a knife. Bet he wasn't on PCP or some other narcotic. Perhaps she was protecting the fine citizens of Chicago. Why was she not charged for each shot fired?
Id love to read the case report and all the sups to this one, and how "Domestic Related" was determined since he lived on the same block.
I am glad she survived.
A citizen can shoot someone in self-defense but an officer can't.
Hey SSC readers. A recent video from Spokane PD was released regsrding a police shooting of a man with a knife. The incident is very similar to the JVD situation. It is available on " LIVELEAK.COM". Just go the searh box and type in Spokane PD shooting. Read the comments as well it's about 50/50 for and against the cops. White guy shot, no riots, no marches, no protests......yet.
I drive with my 92fs locked and loaded with +p hollow points inches from my hand. Just being prudent.
Don't be too surprised in the coming weeks when you see Special Ed standing in front of the cameras telling the female population of this fine city to treat each domestic violence encounter like a carjacking.............just GIVE IT UP. Domestic violence stats can be manipulated easier than shootings.
More people should do this.
A woman who was reportedly robbed and sexually assaulted in her South Side home last fall is suing Cook County and a GPS-tracking contractor, claiming they failed to detect that one of the alleged assailants had left home four hours before the attack despite being under home confinement.
The woman, identified only as Mary Doe in the lawsuit filed Thursday in Cook County circuit court, was allegedly attacked at her Roseland-area home in September. News reports of the crime say the 30-year-old woman was sleeping when she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint by two boys, one 16 and another 15, while a third teenager held a knife and acted as a lookout.

And we now pause for a commercial break, so the SJW's can go change their wet panties.
The CCSAO should file a civil suit against the deceased's estate to recover the cost of CPD responding to the incident.
See e.g. http://www.daily-journal.com/news/local/judge-lays-out-options-for-accused-gang-members/article_ee8f9e44-d5c4-55c6-982e-13f9dcae8ba9.html
Where's the video? How many shots fired where's Latino lives matter? Anyone? Oh right no police involved. Nothing to see hear. These assholes went back to "re-investigate a five year old police shooting." They're out of control and are hunting scalps. You can not do proactive police work people.

And, the citizen does not get fucked around by it's handlers unlike our police department.
I understand why the police are fetal. Does our mayor? Better yet, does he care.
Officers, when they say you lay it all on the line for the citizens of Chicago, most don't know ALL includes, injury or death, the preservation of family and possibly loosing all you have worked for. This shit is backwards and I am afraid it needs to remain this way in order to not get fully fucked over by your employer, your mayor (POS), and any other raining turd I may have forgotten.
Stay safe and G_d bless CPD.
~~Off Topic (sort of)~~
I found this linked article in Sun-Times at the end of the Thread's 'Domestic' Self-Defense Shooting article: .....
Hobos gang leader sentenced to 40 years in prison
Chi Sun-Times || 08/10/2017, 07:48pm
>>> 'Gregory “Bowlegs” Chester “embraced the murder and mayhem” wreaked over a decade by the Hobos street gang. U.S. District Judge John J. Tharp said. And he cannot wash his hands of the blood spilled amid the gang’s reign of terror in Chicago. That’s why, in the end, Tharp sentenced Chester to 40 years in prison at the end of a two-hour hearing,...' <<<
[and as Ron Popeil used to say] But wait...there's even more: .......
>>> 'Later Thursday, Tharp gave Stanley “Smiley” Vaughn, an admitted member of the Hobos who pleaded guilty rather than go to trial, 20 years in prison. The judge said he must serve that sentence in addition to a 22-year prison sentence Vaughn is already serving.' <<<
THAT!! .. boys and girls is how you stop >Gang< Violence, with FEDERAL Prosecutions. 40 Years in Federal Prison for one scumbag and for another one, 20 years in Federal Prison -- in addition to an existing 22 years he's already serving (my CPS taught math says that's 42 yrs total).
Are you listening Rahm and Lil' Kimmy?? Yeah, right ... ((( crickets )))
Chicago politicians don't like stories like this. Its a pro bad guy city. As Rahm says "a welcoming city"
A murder by any other name is still a murder.
It's not often to hear of the machismo clause being invoked by a presumed passive armed defender.
Highly unusual...even in Sanctuary.
Clear Closed Exc. - RWOC.
No community outcry about Hernandez being "unarmed and 'unwarrantedly'' gunned down.
No media investigative backstory. No mention on the illegality of the firearm possession.
Rahm will not be swayed into dehumanizing violent armed incidents by challenging anyone's status either.
So who's keeping a list of these defensive shootings? I can remember people whining about blood in the streets when the City lost the McDonald case, but so far it's just been criminals getting shot by the CCL holders.
This is what it's going to come down to, everyone strapped. It's going to be just like the Wild West. The police are neutered and citizens will have to protect themselves. So be it
Scratch one from President The Donald 's deportation list.
Those apartments are like Cabrini Green west. Nothing but scumbags in there.
I like stories with happy endings.
Enjoy your dirt nap scumbag.

Sadly that's very true.
Fortunately for her she doesn't have IPRA, COPA etc. Monday morning quarterbacking her every thought and move.
Let's not forget all the blood sucking lawyers that would also be licking their gills if this was an officer involved shooting.
Drinking fighting dying.

Perhaps you might try a more proactive approach instead of bemoaning the new reality you find yourselves in as of late.
You have a new flop prez and board, make your voices heard and demand they offer traumatic incident training to help you in responding to investigators when you find yourself in that situation. The training could be held at the Hall and offered several times a year.
It would be on your own time, so god forbid you'd have to forfeit one day at the gym or the ginmill.
If your deem your livelihood is worth it, you'd make every effort to have this training made available.

The 92 Series is a lotta gun and a perfectly fine one at that.
If you're riding "freehand," you very hopefully have a
lanyard/tether attached to it.
Nothing like trying to catch a gun that's running around
on the floor of your car when shit happens...
Actually, it's not too bad an idea to have your weapon
attached to you anyways.
Carry two...
Preferably the smaller version of your duty carry
that can accept the magazines from your full size/
duty weapon.
"Justin Case" is a m/fer and nobody in their
right mind really wants to make his acquaintance.
Just another old "funny-thinking" cop.
