Vigilantes Again?

Yes, we're aware that the last instance we wrote about could have been one set of gang bangers hunting down another group of gang bangers doing a stickup, except that CPD Media Affairs attempted to cover up the entire instance by not releasing information to the CWB blog.

This could be the same thing - note the victim:

  • [taken from 016 District community newsletter emailed this way] 31 Oct 0225hrs, Att Robbery, unk / 5400 W Montrose area, alley, JG485307: Victim (IR#1623461, mult Burg hist) relates was exiting an unk garage when he was battered with a blunt object by unk offenders who then tried to take his bicycle.

So the victim:

  • has an IR number with multiple burglary arrests
  • and he was "exiting an unk garage" which we take to mean it wasn't his garage
  • and he was battered by "unk offenders"

Who would batter a guy coming out of a garage that wasn't his?

  • maybe....the homeowner?

Maybe not. Maybe we're completely off base. But it's fun to think that vigilantism is slowly spreading across the city and suddenly, a lot of our job is going to be giving reports to criminals at the hospital after they got caught doing things they shouldn't be doing.

Just as when after the FBI decimated organized crime, the street gangs moved in to fill the void.

Now that there's no enforcement due to political conditions, and no prosecution, the locals have moved in to fill the void.

1. Other thieves did it.

2. Neighbors and homeowners don't know anything.

3. Ditto didn't see nor hear anything.

4. Roaming vigilantes are a fantasy.

5. Homeowners and/or neighbors are self defencing, thus, not vigilantes.

6. The days, and nights, of police being the only option are finished.

7. Ditto for the fire department, as know one can know how many fires have been extinguished without calling for government assistance.

8. The days, and nights, of citizens defaulting to summoning the very government assistance they pay for, being that this is, and has always been, a crap shoot on the end results desired, and desired not, are waning fast.

9. Law and order does not = laws begat order, nor order begats civilized living. Only the resolutely good begat civilized living.

Those three monkeys who see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil get blindsided, just like that little red hen got turned into chicken soup by the barnyard critters who wouldn't help her to bake the bread, were enthusiastically thrilled to help her eat the bread and, when she denied them the eating of the bread, they chose plan B, and imposed it upon her.

Maybe not the homeowner, maybe the local "Guardian Angels" force? Kinda like how BLM didn't hit the west side where the Latin Kings were during the 2020 Summer of Love?

I've always said that the criminals aren't going to like a defunded police department - regular ole citizens don't tend to abide by a multi-dimensional use of force... more of a "Well, keep pounding 'em until they aren't going to come back" kind of a force.

Keep givin' em what they asked for...

In a lot of small Minnesota towns, the homeowners have a rope and pulley system to hang up the the dead deer to drain the blood and gut it. Some people even butcher them down to individual cuts of meat right there in the garage. A few even grind the lesser cuts into ground deer with electric grinders right there. They can process a 200# deer in a few hours.

I am probably mentioning this because it was the opening of MN Firearm Deer hunting season Saturday.

This department never really did like calling a spade a spade. I have always disagreed with the media wet blanket that "news affairs" puts out.

When there are serial killers loose on the streets, they play it down and release community alerts about safety concerns. When vigilantism strikes it is marginalized, saying that "police are investigating. With the short news cycle we have, the media never mentions it again.

When a teen mob or protest occur that erupts in violence, they release that it is "mostly peaceful"

When a celebrity or a politician is involved, they do a complete blackout.

They have gotten good at it. We are essentially being lied to...and no one seems to care.

Vigilantes of another kind - Black Vs Brown

Chicago Insurrection. Obstructing an official democratic voting process, Why is he not in jail?

Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (37th Ward) announced he is stepping down from his positions as Mayor Brandon Johnson's floor leader, and as City Council Zoning Committee chair, following a bullying incident with another alderman during a special city council meeting on Thursday.

The Chicago Aldermanic Black Caucus has accused Ramirez-Rosa of "physical and verbal harassment" of Ald. Emma Mitts (37th) during a meeting on Thursday to discuss a bid to ask voters during the March primary if Chicago should remain a sanctuary city for migrants. In a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Ald. Raymond Lopez (15th) has said Ramirez-Rosa tried to "physically block her" from going into the City Council chamber to vote.

The Black Caucus called Ramirez-Rosa's treatment of Mitts "unprofessional and unbecoming of his role," and said he should resign as the mayor's floor leader and as chairman of the City Council Zoning Committee for "bullying" Mitts. The caucus also demanded Ramirez-Rosa apologize publicly to Mitts, the longest-serving woman on City Council, for is "blatant mistreatment and disrespect."

Five Latino aldermen on Sunday also called on Mayor Johnson to demand Ramirez-Rosa resign as floor leader and zoning committee chair.

Not just Minnesota!! We not only have the winch to lift them up, but we have switched to a mini excavator and bags of lime for our 160 acres. A former K-9 officer also advised to bury them a little deeper and then put the remains of road kill on top in case they use cadaver dogs for a "search". Once they find the road kill bones, they usually quit. :)

Smoke and Mirrors liberal extremist tough on crime is a conspiracy theory

Proposal to extend stiffer gun offense penalty joins school tax credit, end to nuke moratorium on agenda of Illinois legislature’s final week

After more than 770 homicides were recorded in Chicago in 2016, then-Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration pressed Illinois lawmakers to pass a measure that would increase minimum prison sentences for repeat gun possession offenders.

The law that legislators ultimately approved took effect in 2018, and was a rare bit of policy common ground for Emanuel and Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner.

But in the years since, the level of gun violence in Chicago has remained stubbornly high, and most of the thousands of shootings that have occurred in the city each year remain unsolved. Critics cite those factors as among their reasons for opposing the enhanced sentencing law, which expires at the end of December.

An effort to extend the measure for another year is one of the issues facing lawmakers as they return to Springfield this week for their final scheduled three days in session this year.

Crime statistics provide no clear evidence that the law has had a positive effect on gun violence in Chicago. In 2018, the first year the law was in effect, a little more than 2,800 people were shot in the city, a drop of roughly 15% from the previous year. In 2019, that figure went down again, to just more than 2,600. But the number of shooting victims has been higher every year since, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year nearly 3,500 people were shot, and through October of this year there had been 2,500 shooting victims in the city, the statistics show.

The penalty enhancement had been expected by at least one top law enforcement official to put a serious dent in gun violence. In 2017, then-Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told lawmakers in Springfield that change would reduce gun violence in Chicago by 50% in three years.

Brandon Johnson’s administration issued a statement late Friday opposing the law, saying the increased penalties “enhance the cycle of incarceration and are proven to be ineffective, costly and counterproductive.”

Davis Gates would pay four times more in property taxes if she did not take the homestead deduction on the South Bend home

A review of the 2022-2023 tax bill on the South Bend property shows the gross assessed value of the home at $47,400. The homestead deduction, listed in Table 5 of the bill, is $28,440.

That makes the net assessed value of the property $9,324, rather than the $37,764 if the homestead deduction were not taken. That makes the total property tax liability $433.68.

If she weren’t taking the homestead exemption, she would pay $1,997 – four times more than she is currently paying – at the local tax rate of 5.2897, as explained in Table 3 of the bill. Over time, that adds up to thousands of dollars in tax breaks.

The move to take a homestead deduction in a state in which she doesn’t reside – thereby depriving that state of some tax revenue – is notable, given Davis Gates and CTU’s ongoing mission to make the wealthy pay their “fair share.”

California Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after she was involved in a traffic collision in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s online records show that Carrillo, 43, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. on Friday and booked at 4:07 a.m.

According to The Los Angeles Times, LAPD arrested Carrillo a democrat after they responded to her alleged collision into two parked vehicles in the 6200 block of Monterey Road in northeast Los Angeles.

In a cell phone video taken by the owner of one of the struck vehicles that Fox 11 obtained, Carrillo could be seen in her car telling police, “I’m sorry. I sneezed and lost track of the vehicle.”

The video then showed Carrillo performing a field sobriety test, where she appeared to lose her balance. The witness who recorded the cell phone footage also told Fox 11 that Carrillo's speech seemed to be slurred.

Irish and Italians have never had strong relationships in Europe so Italians have no opinion about the Irish (we just associate them with beer, beautiful landscapes, shamrocks and elves).

On the other hand, Italian and Irish migrants to the United States usually competed for jobs, homes, and so on: there have also been years of struggle between the Italian and Irish mobs. Things from the past that do not concern the Italians living in Italy nor the Irish living in Ireland.
