Methadone Mile?
We already had the "Magnificent Mile" (which isn't so magnificent anymore) and it was begging for a new nickname:
Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston announced Sunday that new regulations will take effect Nov. 1 that gives police authority to dismantle a homeless tent encampment.
The city intersection that contains a homeless tent city within Boston that has garnered the nickname of ‘Methadone Mile’ is set to be dismantled following the enforcement of the mayor’s anti-camping ordinance, the Boston Herald reported.
The area got its nickname from the fact that a lot of methadone clinics operate there and for the drug addiction problem of its homeless residents, the Northeast Addictions Treatment Center noted.
The ordinance, however, conditions police’s authority to clear the encampment based on whether they offer the homeless residents a ride to a homeless shelter and help storing the elongings of the same, Boston 25 reported.
Another leftist mayor abandoning the leftist principle of "defund the police and there won't be any crime!"
An anti-camping ordinance, eh? We're pretty sure those already exist here, but they're almost never enforced....even if there are a hundred illegals in the lobby, another hundred on the sidewalk in front and another two-hundred in the vacant lot across the street.

So the leftist mayor is a bonding her drug rehabilitation encampment. That seems odd. Their proximity to their resources seems like a great plan. They should build affordable housing for all the addicts they don’t want in prison for drug crimes
Chicago needs a Hamsterdam.
Miserable Mile?
Plywood Place?
Plywood Mile?
New name: The Empty Quarter.
Ozymandias Avenue.
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Magnificent Mile - Loot & Scoot Mile
why do the police have to dismantle the encampment??!
I think they left out the fact that when the nice policeman delivers his meth head passenger to the homeless shelter, the meth head will be right back out on the street because the homeless shelters will not allow active drug users on the premises. I agree that the City should not allow this nonsense on city streets, but shoving it off on shelters isn’t the answer either. They absolutely should not follow the Chicago model of dumping them on police stations. OK, Democrats. You made this mess; you clean it up.
So many city ordinances.
So few positive effects, other than picking the pockets of those who submit to paying.
Paying and then watching the politicians piss away every penny.
The democratic party way......
So lemme get this straight. She wants the police to clear these bums out but only - per the ordinance - if they also act as chauffeurs and valets?! Pass, thanks - I’ll be in my hole.
Over here a 3 peat hat trick

Wu is a disgusting nihilistic leftist who naturally came from Chicago’s privileged north shore burbs. Hate Whitey is her shtick, period. Boston blows anyways.
The migrant camp at the 017th district has expanded into the neighborhood, with tents set up along the residential parkway on Leland, stretching from Pulaski to Harding.
So blocking a pedestrian right of way(public sidewalk) is called camping and they want the police to move these people to shelters and store their treasures. I don't know who's laughing harder, me or the boston coppers.
Methadone clinics do nothing but legalize and facilitate drug addiction.
Perhaps the Boston coppers should consider the area around the Mayor's house as a suitable storage area...
Don't worry, the city is handling the big problems /sarc. A seventh-grader was Madea for Halloween, and CPS and the local media are on the case.

I thought that once they leave the police station or its immediate (front sidewalk) area that they were no longer eligible for city services (shelter, housing, food, medical etc)
Can they now live anywhere in the city to be eligible? Do those that have taken to living along residential parkways get all the free stuff (taxpayer funded)?
Can she come and show us how to do it.
The Meager Mile
Why would you need an anti-camping ordinance IN AN URBAN AREA in the first place?? Isn't camping just a way to simulate being homeless in the first place?
(No offense meant to you camping fans out there! I had my fill of “camping” in the military.)

As long as someone connected is making money, it's perfectly okay in their eyes.
Mayor Who?
No, Wu.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
