Long Read, but an Excellent One

One of our long time favorite authors, Heather MacDonald:

• This past Memorial Day, more than 1,000 teens swarmed the blocks around Lake Michigan in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. A resident described the scene: “Hundreds of people were walking and running down our street, jumping on top of cars, twerking, smoking blunts.” One group twerked on the top of a city bus.

  At about 9 pm, the Chicago Police Department closed Lake Shore Drive. As sirens wailed, the Hyde Park resident armed himself with bear spray to retrieve something from his car. An hour later, a gunman shot three teens a block from the resident’s home. The suspect remains at large, though police made 13 arrests for illegal gun possession, battery of an officer, and other felonies.

  The previous day, an after-prom gathering in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood descended into mayhem. “It looked like a million kids out here,” one neighbor told WGN News. “They were acting like straight animals. Kids were all on top of cars. They were stopping in the middle of the street, twerking.” Fights involving pepper spray and other weapons were common. Cars sped through the crowds. Shortly before 3 am, a police commander formed skirmish lines. Three minutes later, a sedan veered into oncoming traffic and struck an officer. Moments afterward, it hit a second officer, crossed into another lane, accelerated, and plowed into three more cops. The rampage ended when the vehicle crashed into a police car and a utility pole. The 18-year-old driver was carrying a semiautomatic handgun with an extended magazine. An hour later, shots were fired in the area, but no arrests have been made.

  These two incidents are just a few of the mass-disorder events this year that have been dubbed “teen takeovers.” Nationally, violent felonies overall are down, but disorder is not.

And that's just the first four paragraphs of an extensive and thorough article exploring the teen "takeover" trend, how they started, what's behind it (and what isn't) all backed up by a boatload of interviews, statistics and ::gasp!:: actual research!

We were first introduced to Ms. Mac Donald's work via her book, "The War on Cops" way back in 2016 and have been a reader ever since. A stalwart defender of the police and opponent of political correctness dictating law enforcement policy, her work has only gotten better over the years.

Set aside a good chunk of time for this article - you won't be disappointed. 

Modern "journalists" should take note....maybe they'd learn something....but probably not.

Average Pride Mayhem

Didn't they cancel the St Patrick's Parade for a few years over lower numbers than this?

• Chicago police arrested 34 people during the 2026 Chicago Pride Parade and its aftermath in Boystown on Sunday night into the early hours of Monday, a CPD spokesperson said — a number that falls almost exactly in line with the long-term average recorded by CWB Chicago since we began tracking the event’s data in 2013.

  Five of those arrested this year were juveniles, police said. Among the felony cases, the most common charges involve battery of peace officers and obstruction, but three people face firearm possession allegations, according to the department. Charges remain pending against two people and the nature of those cases has not been disclosed. On the misdemeanor side, battery, resisting, and reckless conduct are the most common charges filed.

Granted, this is post-parade mayhem, probably not by actual parade attendees, but rather but persons who don't pay CTA fares to go north where the victims are plentiful and no one fights back.

If they'd move just set up a general parade corridor downtown where parking is plentiful, neighborhood disruptions would be minimal and exit routes everywhere, perhaps it would make the night time riots less?

It's a Mystery

Anyone notice how the "Hantavirus" scare disappeared completely from the media? 

Like it never existed?

Like it wasn't getting the traction it needed to scare everyone into submission again?

You can see they're trying to do something with the recent Ebola outbreak, except Ebola kills the infected too quickly to have a "patient zero" running around getting everyone else sick.

HANTAVIRUS!!!!!

• The Illinois Department of Public Health said Tuesday it is investigating a possible hantavirus case in a resident that is not believed to be connected to a widespread outbreak on a cruise ship that has raised concerns worldwide.

  In a statement, IDPH said the individual, a Winnebago County resident, hasn’t traveled internationally or had contact with passengers of the MV Hondius cruise ship.

  Health officials said the person may have been exposed to the North American strain of the virus while cleaning a home where rodent droppings were present. The cruise ship outbreak involves the Andes strain of the virus, which is carried by a rodent species not found in the United States. The Andes virus can spread from person to person through close contact - in rare cases.

Oh, this is (likely) the non-transmissible version, not the Andes strain. But that hasn't stopped the usual lunatics on the left from calling for lockdowns, masking, and vaccines (which barely exist). 

Be smarter than last time - start lining up your religious objections early.

UPDATE: And get a haircut....the chances of you getting elected mayor and being able to go to your local hair salon like Groot are minimal at best.

This is from sworn testimony introduced in front of the US Senate: 

• On August 31, 2022, the Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) authorized the PfizerBioNTech COVID-19 bivalent booster. By late October 2022, HHS reported that approximately 14.4 million people 12 years and older had received the booster. In November 2022, federal health officials became aware of a statistically significant safety signal for ischemic stroke among individuals age 65 and older following administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 bivalent booster. An ischemic stroke occurs when a blood vessel supplying the brain becomes blocked, preventing blood and oxygen from reaching parts of the brain. Despite the monthslong persistence of this safety signal in multiple vaccine safety surveillance systems, Biden’s FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) did not issue any formal health alerts, nor did they advise the public to avoid the vaccine. Instead, federal health officials continued to tell the public the vaccine was safe, but behind closed doors, they initiated multiple studies and statistical analyses—including a so-called “Stroke Project”—to investigate the validity of their assertion. These investigations continued through at least September 2025.

Hundreds of strokes were documented....and no one said a word. Just for historical reference, they pulled a polio vaccine in the mid-20th century when something like five adverse effects were reported and kept it off the market for years.

COVID "Vax" Cancelled

UPDATE: This post was flagged and cancelled by eBlogger because it ran afoul of their "misinformation policy." We don't know what "misinformation" they're referring to as every single day uncovers more and more of what may turn out to be the largest unsupported public health scare in human history.

So instead of quoting from the "JustTheNews" website, we'll quote directly from the Reuters News site that appears to be part of the approved tech-regime information sources:

• LONDON, April 1 (Reuters) - Vaccine makers Pfizer and BioNTech halted a large U.S. trial of their updated COVID-19  vaccine in healthy adults aged 50 to 64, saying enrollment in the trials had been too low to generate the needed data. In a letter to  trial investigators dated March 30, seen by Reuters and previously unreported, Pfizer said it would stop surveillance for signs of COVID illness of all participants in the study after April 3.
  
  Enrollment was closed on March 6, following a review of current epidemiological trends, it said.
  The move comes as COVID vaccine makers grapple with pushback from the U.S. administration and weak U.S. demand for the shots.

Pretty much the exact same reporting.

 

Oh No, Must be an Election!

How can we tell?

• A new Covid variant is spreading across the U.S. and it may be able to evade protection from current vaccines.

  The variant, known as BA.3.2, has been detected in nasal swabs taken from four American travelers and clinical samples from five patients in four unidentified states. It’s also been found in three airplane wastewater samples and 132 wastewater samples taken in more than 20 states, suggesting that its reach is actually far more widespread than what scientists see right now.

Four cases!!!!  SHUT IT DOWN!!!!

• BA.3.2 has been found in California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming, Louisiana, Michigan and Ohio.

AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Illinois!?!?!?!  Quick, someone evacuate the governor's family to Florida and fly the daughter's horses down on a private flight!!!

How many dead already????

• The variant was detected in hospitalized patients in December and January in three unidentified U.S. states.

  The patients included two hospitalized older adults with additional health conditions - including one who had been admitted for heart care - and a young child who received outpatient care.

  All of the patients survived and the researchers said detection in hospitalized patients does “not necessarily indicate that the variant causes more severe disease, nor does it establish any association with risk factors.”

Oh.

So 100% survivable, doesn't effect kids to the point of hospitalization and one of hte two hospitalized adults had a contributing health factor.

Just like the original virus.
