We only hope a bunch of it is true:
- Right after the DNC, CPS OIG is going to be announcing they found 100's
of principals, assistant principals, teachers, & staffers were
involved in PPP loan fraud.
Here's the rub..since CPS is experiencing a teacher and administrator shortage, few if any of the new fraudsters will lose their jobs. The fraudsters will have to pay back what they took in loans plus a penalty. Most will have their wages garnished with no suspensions, only a warning put in their personnel files.
The CPS OIG already nailed 12 highly paid employees and sent them packing, including 4 assistant principals and a former Chief of Staff to the CPS CEO that was making $225K. This was Crysral Cooper to current CPS CEO (Pedro Martinez).
Cooper is the second Chief of Staff to the CPS CEO in recent years to be dismissed and DNH'd by CPS. The other is Pedro Soto, Jr. as he worked under Janice Jackson and lied to the Feds about his dealings with a vendor in the school cleaning contract bidding war.
The schools need a couple big scandals exposed to provide impetus to any sort of "reform" movement.

President Trump once said he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and he wouldn't lose any support.
Same goes for crooked government organizations like CTU.
It doesn't matter how hard they fail, it doesn't matter that they're all openly communist. It doesn't matter that they have stolen or squandered billions of dollars. It doesn't matter that they have set a new standard for naked public corruption. They WILL get the support from the Democrat scumbags that run this state from top to bottom. They WILL get more money and resources on demand.
CPS OIG wants to wait until after the DNC to publish an update to their investigation on CPS employees committing PPP loan fraud for the obvious reason, not to embarass BJ and the city in front of the nation. Second reason is the CPS fiscal year ends June 30th and any investigations after that date ends up in the 2025 not 2024 CPS OIG Annual Report.
Crystal Cooper was elevated from the Chief of Staff to the CPS CEO to Chief of Operations Manager.
The CPS OIG is self-reporting CPS employees involved in the PPP loan fraud, Like they did for the missing 77,705 laptops, is because they don't want federal oversight over CPS.
The problem with the laptops is most if not all of those laptops were paid with federal governmental money.
There's no teacher and administrator shortage. They just can't fill the positions they created when they already had plenty of teachers and administrators. If they would close a few schools and shuffle some worthless employees around, they'd have more than enough staffing. Even if they fired all the undoubtedly black and brown criminals in this case, they'd still have enough to fail at teaching the students who don't want to learn. But firing them would be the right thing to do, and this is Chicago, so we can't have that. Instead they'll strike until they get enough of a raise to cover the money they stole. But it'll be "for the children."

When they start naming CPD brass & others in the county courts etc. they can’t be punished either right? Soto admitted in the plea agreement that he repeatedly provided non-public information to the lobbyist’s colleague concerning the award of the contract, and that he had done so, in part, because the lobbyist’s colleague had promised to extend various benefits to Soto. Soto further admitted that in 2019 he intentionally made false statements to the FBI when he denied having provided the lobbyist’s colleague with inside information about the awarding of the contract.
U.S. District Court Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman sentenced Soto 18 months of probation, along with a $3,000 fine and 100 hours of community service on March 16, 2023.

Yes, there is. Most of the CPS PPP Loan Fraudsters are Black people, followed by a trickling of Hispanics with little to no White people.
Odds are BJ will propose as part of the reparations for Black Chicagoans that they catch a break, saying unfair opportunities growing up led them to this path.
What other fraud have these CPS employees been guilty of as well? Tendencies. If they committ one fraud, they have a tendency to committ other frauds.
My kids all graduated from top colleges with top degrees.
I administered them successfully.
I’ll take their jobs for half the pay when supplemented by my CPD pension.

Shouldn't the CPD's Financial Crimes Unit be involved in the PPP LOAN FRAUD and the 77,507 laptops and tech devices lost, missing, or stolen?
Two things the unit could ask is "Why did CPS pay for tracking devices on the laptops and didn't use it?" And if CPS was using the tracking devices but turned them off when thousands of laptops were tracked to pawn shops.
CPS OIG doesn't control federal law. Those CPS fraudsters will all be doing time in a federal gray bar hotel. I guess CPS is going to be even more shorthanded.

The rumor is delicious, but I think at least a part of it is likely going to be wrong.
While I believe Mayor Johnson and the CTU President would LOVE it if the fraudsters weren't fired and they may be stupid enough to just try to get them to pay back the fraudulent PPP loans there's little chance the outcry resulting won't result in mass firings.
Fraudsters will be fired. Few will be charged with federal crimes. There's a few million people nationwide who took part in PPP fraud. Simply, too many to charge.
The folks who will be charged are elected officials and those who stole millions.
Plus folks involved in other crimes where the feds can just tack on the charges to the more serious stuff.
Don't lose hope though. There's likely to be some elected Chicago officials charged at some point with PPP fraud. Alderman Clay in the 46th has been tied to questionable loans and she isn't likely the only one.
