$68,000 per Student?

And not a single one could pass the SAT test:

  • Only 35 students enrolled in Douglass Academy High School for the 2023-2024 school year, but the building can hold over 900 students.

Logic would say it should be closed, but the Chicago Teachers Union prohibits closing it and other underused schools. In fact, CTU sees the 23 staffers at Douglass as inadequate.

CTU’s new contract demands would put at least eight additional staff members in the school. That would mean 31 staff members for 35 students.

Douglass already spends over $68,000 per student. All that money and all that potential staff attention, yet it failed to produce even a single student who was proficient in either reading or math on a recent SAT.

There are half-a-dozen other schools with enrollment in the low double-digits, all fully staffed so the Staff-to-student ratio is almost 1:1.

That's insane when other schools are staffed at something like 30 or 35 to 1. Time for some fiscal responsibility to be introduced to the broken (but far from broke) schools.

Have you been at the crack pipe again SCC? You want real, actual fiscal responsibility from the Chicago Teachers Union?

Who's going to enforce such heresy around here? Is it the handpicked CTU Stooge serving as mayor? How about his 50 communist thieves?

OK, OK, we know that's not happening so maybe someone in County government will step in? Toni Preckwinckle will SURELY bring some sanity, right? Well, I guess not.

Well maybe the state will step in and put an end to this madness. Oh, you mean the Democrat super-majority and a fat, leftist tub of shit governor with presidential ambitions?

Yeah, never mind. CTU will get exactly what it wants, when it wants and the sucker's still living in and paying taxes in Illinois will pay for it.

$68,000 per student is INCORRECT. This amount only reflects direct expenses. Current year pension payouts MUST be included for an accurate reflection of cost outlays. If you add in annual pension payouts, the total most likely is over $100,000 per student. Other states don’t have the gold train teacher pensions, that’s why their property taxes are 1/3 or less than Illinois. Including pensions will allow for a proper comparison to other states.

CPS would be, if not for what it is, a swag pot of graft, each seperate school building standing effectively alone, only operating costs common to all school buildings, heating, cooling, janitorial and building repairs, being covered by contractors individually agreed to, still ample graft opportunities, with the hiring, firing, of teachers, administrators and the like being the totally determined by each individual school buildings parental councils, as elected by the enrolled students' parents.

No restrictions by district residence, only on a first come, first enrolled basis, funded by 50% taxpayers' contribution, via vouchers issued to parents, and 50% parental contribution to tuitions determined by free market competition.

Publicly financed educations are, and have been, deeeeeeep pits of graft swag, and are so egregiously obviously so these days as to sicken even the most tolerant taxpayers to quantities of puking, at least those who have not yet moved to any other pastures not substantially flooded in grafters as ours are.

Hereabouts, hogs do not get slaughtered, they get hog trough swag pension fed until their deaths, and maybe even beyond, with their mummified corpes stashed snuggly amongst the cobwebs in their basements.

That is called a steal of a deal! The CTU want to add more teachers to a school that has less students to teach? This is called the new math theory………where the CTU can place high paying jobs for less work? What we have here is a failure to communicate!

Chalkbeat Chicago says its $73,000 per student at Douglass HS.

More tidbits...

-Douglass principal Michael Durr is the highest paid CPS principal at $171,000+

- Assistant Principal makes over $130,000+

- 4-yr Graduation Rate is 68%, meaning 11/35 never graduate with a staff of 23+ now

- Austin College and Career HS is 0.6 miles away from Douglass. Austin's enrollment is 151 students. Austin's utilization rate is 12%, meaning their building is nearly empty too

- Both Austin and Douglass have 8-12 employees making over $100K with another 8-10 making at each school making $90,000+

Next up is the millions of dollars being spent on Uplift HS with an enrollment of less than 100 students

Leaked..

Right after the DNC, CPS OIG is going to be announcing they found 100's of principals, assistant principals, teachers, & staffers were involved in PPP loan fraud.

Here's the rub..since CPS is experiencing a teacher and administrator shortage, few if any of the new fraudsters will lose their jobs. The fraudsters will have to pay back what they took in loans plus a penalty. Most will have their wages garnished with no suspensions, only a warning put in their personnel files.

The CPS OIG already nailed 12 highly paid employees and sent them packing, including 4 assistant principals and a former Chief of Staff to the CPS CEO that was making $225K. This was Crysral Cooper to current CPS CEO (Pedro Martinez).

Cooper is the second Chief of Staff to the CPS CEO in recent years to be dismissed and DNH'd by CPS. The other is Pedro Soto, Jr. as he worked under Janice Jackson and lied to the Feds about his dealings with a vendor in the school cleaning contract bidding war.

Also, the US Deptnof Educations investigation into several schools financial malfeasance is heating and now includes several South and West sides schools along with South Suburban high school districts. One such school district is Proviso HS District 209.

According to the investigators, all schools and districts being investigated have financial books that are a complete mess with multiple payments for the same work and products to the same vendor.

Not many of the 77,705 missing or lost laptops of tech devices have been found.

In fact, CPS was FOIA'd for the school by school breakdown of how many of the laptops and tech devices were ĺost or missing and CPS claims they don't have those inventory records.

Yet, the CPS OIG was able to look through CPS files and determined 77,705 were lost or missing and 36 schools had no idea where the laptops and tech devices were at.

CPS OIG doesn't maintain any inventory or procurement records of CPS.

BiG time cover up by CPS.
