Really Secure?
We don't know about you, but stories like this make us feel completely safe and secure while flying to vacation and/or retirement destinations:
- A body was found in the wheel well of a United Airlines flight that departed from Chicago on Christmas Eve, the company said. Flight 202 departed from Chicago's O'Hare airport on Tuesday morning and landed at Maui's Kahului airport.
After landing, United Airlines said a body was found in the wheel well of one of the main landing gears on a United aircraft. "United is working with law enforcement authorities on the investigation," the company said in a statement to ABC.
Screening long before you get to the gates. No one without a ticket permitted in the concourses. Cameras everywhere. Reasonably well-lit wide open flat spaces for miles around. Secured doors and hundreds of workers all supposedly keeping an eye on things to prevent a terror attack or an airfield incursion.
And that's not even mentioning the ground crew and flight crew physically inspecting the aircraft prior to takeoff....we see them wandering around underneath the plane with flashlights, checking out cargo doors, exterior structures and wheel wells.
And this still happens every year or so. Any airport people want to update the readers?

Where’s the 050 tact rangers??
Somebody who always has solid info said the body originated in Brazil, and was missed on the inspection here before the plane took off for Hawaii. Not sure if that really makes me feel better.
I bet the person was from the previous flight which arrived from from Sao Paulo, Brazil that morning. If so, the flight crew will have some explaining to do.
Well you should have seen all the FAA then FBI and Air Marshall’s at Ohare on Christmas? All wanting to watch video of the United plane as it sat waiting to be loaded? They watched the pilot do his pre flight walk around and all the ground crew doing the loading of baggage. Trying to find when the DOA climbed into the wheel well of the aircraft? They will be watching video for some time to find how? With all of the alleged security at any airport? Or at Ohare? How did one person crawl into a plane and fly from Chicago to Hawaii? Simple answer is, there is a big hole in the security at Ohare? My question is why are planes still taking off at Ohare? Since the hole has not been identified? Was this a test to see how to gain access to aircraft?
I really miss seeing that Marilyn lady who would always slip past O’Hare security. She was a crafty expert.
Someone didnt check well enough.
Would have to be a badged employee. Ramp person etc. As you stated lotta of people and cameras watching, it would be extremely difficult for a passenger to walk up to an aircraft’s wheel well.
Where is the Dept of Aviation (SECURITY GUARDS) who are supposed to be patrolling the secure side of Ohare airport???????
Asshole got what he deserved in the end on his way to Hawaii!
19-Paul as far as I'm concerned!
somewhere they are missing their dei mechanic who checks the tire air pressure
Perhaps a migrant. They don't need papers to wander the US.
The plane was in Chicago on a 4 hour layover after arriving from Brazil?
Have you seen the people fueling the planes and loading the luggage. DEI hires, some smoke weed while loading your bags. None of the airlines would hire my son because he doesn’t fit the profile for their diversity. In fact a few years back I went to an interview with AA. It was a group conversation. The only people who were sent home were 2’s. I noticed when i was walking out and confirmed with someone else I knew that went for an interview. My guess, Someone looking for a cheap vacation. Probably crushed by the gear
Probably a DEI employee sneaking a nap @ work.
I think that plane began its day in Brazil. Nevertheless one wonders why the body was not discovered during preflight inspection
EEEEEz Ok
