Someone Evaded Gun Laws?
When we last bought a gun, we remember filling out the Form 4473, that piece of paper that Hunter Biden lied on. And there was this question:
- Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance? Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.
A concealed carry holder shot an armed man during a dispute Monday night in South Shore on the South Side, according to Chicago police.
A 30-year-old man was standing outside in the 7200 block of South South Shore Drive around 9 p.m. when he began arguing with someone inside a vehicle, police said.
The two began fighting and the concealed carry holder noticed the other man had a gun, police said. The 30-year-old then opened fire, striking the man once in the chest.

The Slum Times, which never misses an opportunity to bash gun owners, completely hides the fact that someone must have lied on a Federal Form (felony!) to buy a firearm.

PCO II Amanda committed suicide in August at approximately 00:15. That very day a supervisor was retiring. That supervisor had previously been demoted from a watch manager for allegedly being involved in acts that led to others firings. That supervisor used to punch the supervisor desk with her fist. That supervisor had threatened to write people up for wearing CPMF zip up hoodies above their uniforms.
Im not accusing her of wrong doing, I am pointing out how sick the OEMC is that they allow people who have been accused of wrong doing to oversee lower ranking employees. NO ALLEGED REQUIRED. The supervisor with 7 pages worth of harassment allegations is still there.
Maybe the CCL holder was a "franchisee or middleman," not a consumer. All good.
The 4473 devil's lettuce question has been shot down at least 3 times in Fed district court, 10th twice &11th once as I recall. So perhaps it will eventually make it to the USSC.

They actually tried that approx. 30 years ago. They mothballed the Marine unit. Soon after when a boat was in distress on the lake they sent out a CFD helicopter. It proceeded to crash into the lake. The marine unit was immediately recommissioned.

CCL holder should be fine for the shooting, if everything suggests it was self defense. However, there's this little minor thing that he probably should've been charged with, since you can't legally carry a concealed firearm while illegally purchasing drugs, including cannabis:
"(720 ILCS 5/24-1.6)
Sec. 24-1.6. Aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.
(a) A person commits the offense of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon when he or she knowingly:
(2) Carries or possesses on or about his or her person, upon any public street, alley, or other public lands within the corporate limits of a city... any pistol, revolver, stun gun or taser or other firearm; and (3) One of the following factors is present: (E) the person possessing the weapon was engaged in a misdemeanor violation of the Cannabis Control Act, in a misdemeanor violation of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act, or in a misdemeanor violation of the Methamphetamine Control and Community Protection Act"
I guess if he was just having a business meeting or discussing politics with his weed dealer, rather than actually attempting to purchase weed from him, then he's in the clear. Though it does seem pretty clear that he was engaged in a violation of the Cannabis Control Act.
