The last ditch effort by the City Council to allow CPD to work with ICE and support American Law fell flat:
- A proposal to modify Chicago’s sanctuary city ordinance to allow
coordination between Chicago police and federal immigration officials
was struck down by City Council Wednesday.
The amendment, filed by Alds. Raymond Lopez (15th) and Silvana Tabares (23rd), would have allowed police and officials to work with federal agents when they’ve arrested or convicted undocumented immigrants of certain crimes including “gang-related activities,” selling and buying drugs, prostitution, human trafficking and “sexual crimes involving minors.”
The measure was blocked from moving forward Wednesday through a parliamentary process that passed 39-11 before any discussion took place — but not without passionate public comment from Chicago residents.
Heaven forbid human traffickers and pedo-rapists be deported to deny democrats their victims, and corporations and government exploit illegals to the detriment of actual Americans.

I’ve called ICE with tips almost every day I’ve worked for the last several months. Here’s how easy it is. Look at arrests in the queue. The Hispanics with 3 - 5 names is your first clue. Then read the arrest report. You’ll likely see that these scumbags are from Venezuela, Guatemala etc. Snap a pic of that page as it has their booking photo, “home” address, etc. Then scroll down to see if they were in a vehicle and take a pic of that info also. All this makes it easy for the boys from La Migra to find these ILLEGAL INVADERS to start deportation proceedings. Like shooting fish in a barrel!! And I absolutely DARE them to try and fuck with me (if they’re even smart enough to figure out who I am) for upholding my oath. I promise anyone who wants to hear it that I’ll go after any and every investigator, supervisor, politician etc PUNITIVELY who tries to get in the way of me carrying out my oath of office. Yes, except that while entering the US is a crime, that crime ends when the act of entering is completed. You old timer might remember the McDonalds mass shooting in San Isidro. That McDonalds was infamous because illegals would stop there to get a burger, demonstrating that were no longer entering, they were here. Being in the US without benefit of permission is a civil violation, not criminal. This is why people who are deported are not entitled to a trial.
SCC and others have repeatedly pointed out that while the penal code allow vehicle pursuits, it’s not a good idea because the powers to be will jam you up if you do. Some on this site have misinterpreted the supremacy clause of the constitution. Is the Chicago Police Department empowered to enforce federal EPA laws? I think we’ll all agree that it does not.

None of this is true. You aren't suddenly immune from prosecution for entering illegally just because you're no longer entering. The entering illegally happened, and if it's proven, which is very simple to do through a lack of documentation, you are guilty of illegally entering, even if you stop at McDonald's. Illegal entry is a felony, and a more serious felony if it's not a first offense, or if you commit other crimes as well. You can be sent to prison, though it doesn't happen very often. People being deported don't get a trial because they aren't charged with crimes, though they could be. It's just easier to deport them and tell them not to do it again. No one thinks the Chicago police can enforce federal laws, but they can't ignore and break them. That's the point. You really think stopping at McDonald's is some special way of avoiding prosecution for immigration violations? If the father in your ridiculous, bleeding-heart fantasy scenario is here illegally with his family of 12, they can all get fucked and enjoy the streets, with no one but their father to blame. None of this means I think the Chicago police should play immigration police, but your completely ridiculous and inaccurate post needed to be addressed.
