Judge Reassigned and other Quick Hits

That judge who kept releasing domestic offenders on no bail finally got taken out of Domestic Court:

  • The Cook County judge who refused to detain a man charged with a violent domestic attack in October, about a month before the man went on to kill his wife, has been permanently removed from domestic violence cases. That’s one of the announcements made Thursday night by Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans. Evans’ press release came just hours after Chicago’s police oversight investigators released video and other evidence related to the November 19 stabbing in Portage Park, which was witnessed by an off-duty Chicago police officer.

He's now in Traffic Court, which as we remember, is where they put new judges, judges under various punishments, and morons.

==========

In addition to the questions everyone was posting about the FOP spending 80K for a new truck, we're now getting a couple emails about a Field Rep who got her own PPP loan for $2,000 for a sole proprietorship of a "performing art company." By the way, there is no record of this company ever existing. The "loan" was forgiven, meaning the $2,000 was essentially a gift from taxpayers.

==========

John Kass, among others, have opined that the California wildfires and subsequent revelations of the utter incompetency of democrat governance there for the past forty years, might actually swing the state toward the Red side of things.

While it might be an interesting theoretical exercise and in the short term could result in a right-leaning law maker or two sent to DC, the fact of the matter is that the mental illness that pervades California politics and voters is probably too far gone to produce any real change.

Anyone doubting it, just take a look at Minnesota and how red they voted after St. George of Fentanyl and the following months of riots and looting and burning.

==========

The Contrarian has a deeper look at the 007 Pilot Program allowing felony gun charges to be approved by the Watch Operations Lieutenant, bypassing Felony Review. This is going to have to be studied over the long term to see if any impact can be made on what is wisely recognized as the second crappiest neighborhood in Chicago after the Austin/North Lawdale area.

Ohhhhh Chicago FOP 7’s very own Kenyatta Gaines (name as listed on the ProPublica site)… might this be YOU?

A “performing arts” business? Like… say… where someone would learn to sing the National Anthem? 😂

We’re cheering with all our fingers and toes crossed that you get jammed up for this. It would be beautiful karma coming full circle.

Remember. Piñata… when the Feds come asking questions about Lodge finances and offer you a deal on this case, it’s best to tell the truth. First one on the bus gets the best seat, ain’t that right, Dennis and Rob?

OT: It is now known that Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has been serving as our Mayor while simultaneously being on official leave with CPS and directing negotiations with the CTU contract talks. Whether in government or private sectors, there are clear definitive lines that should not be crossed and this is one of them.

Mayor Johnson cannot objectively carry out his responsibilities to the taxpayers while he takes advantage of the discussions and financial benefits of the CPS/CTU negotiations. From Scott Waguespack

California wildfire coverage has yet to discuss the 8000 pound elephant; Prop 13. As in why old pharts and ne'er do wells are sitting on millions of real estate while paying taxes based on 1978. Capped at 1% raise per assessment, and a max of 2% a year. So... imagine how that affects EMS, Public Works and the school districts. Leaky pipes make for low pressure at the hydrant. Low funding makes for minimal Fire Dept. staffing, and even those green-haired nose-ringed jagoff teachers can be understood when we realize just how cheap they work. Starting pay being in the neighborhood of 50 less, than in 2000. Which added to additional credentialing (read debt) required has driven the aspiring professionals out, with the weirdos taking over. The state has lost billions between the property tax cap, and the insurance prop 103 took the free market out of the actuarial equations. When it comes to f...king up Paradise the Devil in alive and well in the Democratic Party

OT: With ICE agents expected in Chicago on Tuesday, it’s important to clarify our responsibilities. While we do not assist with immigration enforcement, we also must not impede or interfere with ICE operations, as doing so would violate federal law. Here is some guidance:

PATROL OFFICER ICE RESPONSE GUIDE
EMERGENCY/VIOLENCE SITUATIONS

Active violence/threats:
Respond immediately as with any violent crime
Focus only on stopping violence/criminal acts
Make arrests for criminal violations only
Treat like any other assault case regardless of who's involved

ICE OPERATIONS - GENERAL RESPONSE
Your role:
Keep the peace
Document call for service
Handle any criminal violations
Stay neutral - this is a federal operation
Maintain professional conduct

NOT your role:
Advising about immigration rights
Interfering with ICE operations
Assisting with immigration enforcement
Getting involved in their arrest process
Blocking/impeding federal agents
Helping people evade federal law enforcement
Taking sides in the operation

IF ASKED TO INTERFERE WITH ICE
Response:
Clearly explain you cannot interfere with federal agents
Notify your supervisor
Document any threats/criminal activity
Maintain order and public safety only
Stay neutral and professional

REPORT WRITING
Document only:
Your specific police response
Criminal violations you handled
Violence or threats you addressed
Basic incident information

Remember: While Chicago is a sanctuary city, this only means CPD won't assist ICE or share immigration status. It does NOT authorize interference with federal operations.

Conehead and his flunkies better get out of dodge. I.C.E is coming Tuesday and No Chicago police officer will arrest an ice agent. They wouldn’t if they could. There's an interview with Gavin where he's all giddy making crazy body movements and he's talking about how he met with people and he's talking about rebuilding. Most of those people who lost their homes will never be able to rebuild. They can't afford it. There's a prominent real estate agent who said some people are already trying to sell the land their homes were on. It's estimated it will take 5 years to rebuild because of the permit laws in CA.
