"Why is this a$$hole parked in the middle of the street???"
- For more than two hours, a gunshot victim sat dead or dying inside an
SUV on a Gage Park street Tuesday evening. His body was only discovered
after a resident called 911 to complain because the vehicle had been
running, double-parked, and occupied for so long.
Nobody called 911 to report gunshots in the area or another nearby police district, according to dispatch records. Had Mayor Brandon Johnson not disconnected the city’s ShotSpotter network in September, the gunfire detection system would have been active on the block, and first responders could have learned about the shooting without waiting for someone to complain about the victim’s double-parked car.
For more than two-and-one-half hours.
According to CWB blog, this is the 27th dead or maimed gunshot victim that wasn't discovered or reported since Conehead decided the wrong gunshot detection system was being utilized.

please stop banging the shotspotter drum...if the neighbors dont choose to call 911 for shots fired or bodies in the street---so be it
Too bad it doesn’t happen more often in 015. Let a few of his neighborly constituents hassle him if he’s not too busy in Elgin or doing photo ops.

It’s the new reporting system. It’s called Spot Spotter.
You taken up a spot in traffic annoying other drivers…police are alerted
You block an alley by lying on pavement so someone can’t get past that spot…police are alerted
It all gets reported once someone spots you
And the Shot spotter contract died.....
Then one night in desperation
The young man breaks away
He buys a gun, he steals a car
Tries to run, but he don't get far
And his mama cries
As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
Facedown in his car blocking street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto (In the ghetto)
....And the Shot Spotter contract died.....
And the band played on.
Why was Shotspotter racist but this new system isn't? Perhaps the new system is run by the connected and bribes are changing hands?
but the victim's car did get a parking ticket
he is now the prime example of the new shot spotter technology, he lets you know there were shots fired and costs nothing
Best idea conehead has had. Only good idea, really….

Good thing a SGT didn't just slap a 6P on that one to clear the board.
