"Why is this a$$hole parked in the middle of the street???"
- For more than two hours, a gunshot victim sat dead or dying inside an
SUV on a Gage Park street Tuesday evening. His body was only discovered
after a resident called 911 to complain because the vehicle had been
running, double-parked, and occupied for so long.
Nobody called 911 to report gunshots in the area or another nearby police district, according to dispatch records. Had Mayor Brandon Johnson not disconnected the city’s ShotSpotter network in September, the gunfire detection system would have been active on the block, and first responders could have learned about the shooting without waiting for someone to complain about the victim’s double-parked car.
For more than two-and-one-half hours.
According to CWB blog, this is the 27th dead or maimed gunshot victim that wasn't discovered or reported since Conehead decided the wrong gunshot detection system was being utilized.

Too bad it doesn’t happen more often in 015. Let a few of his neighborly constituents hassle him if he’s not too busy in Elgin or doing photo ops.

Facedown in his car blocking street with a gun in his hand

Why was Shotspotter racist but this new system isn't? Perhaps the new system is run by the connected and bribes are changing hands?
but the victim's car did get a parking ticket
he is now the prime example of the new shot spotter technology, he lets you know there were shots fired and costs nothing

That actually DID happen in 007 some years back. Officers had to explain why they didn't look in the car and see the corpse
But, those same community members who didn't call "911" will be the first to call it and request a Supervisor to get a CR# on an Officer who wrote them a parker. "Brandon's DemocRATic community", a bunch of winners.
…..or slap a parker on the window without looking inside, and drive away.
At least when they walk in the middle of the street, like Kim Foxx, you can tell they're alive, but that's not so obvious when they park in the middle of the street.

It highlights the stupidity and ineffective leadership of the idiot mayor, and shows how his decision directly caused the bodies of his people to literally lay in the streets for hours instead of police being immediately dispatched to the area. It's not being pointed out because we all wish the nice gang members got swift police response and medical treatment. It's just to show the hypocrisy and failures of the mayor.
I'll let you in on a little secret. Shotspotter was run by the connected. No big money contract gets signed in this city without the right people getting their cut. The new system will be deemed racist or ineffective as soon as everyone gets whatever money they can from it.
If Conehead is actually residing outside the City, the media and every blog should be blasting this out loud to the everyone n the City. It would be unacceptable for him to be doing this.
It happened in 003 too. Neighbor reported abandoned vehicle for weeks. Numerous parking tickets slapped on the van..... when the dead, bullet-ridden body started to percolate, neighbor called in the "odor from vehicle".
We went from shotspotter to shotspotted. Works for me.
Clearing the board is sometimes necessary, explainable and excusable when the living need assistance. Let midnights or days handle it. Body isn't going anywhere. Old-timer yes. Salty, yes.

Two hypes from N.Y. realize their are overdosing and park in front of the 011th district Station. The late D.C. Nate Gibson orders the desk officer hang a ticket on the van that was parked in front of the station. A few tickets were issued and affixed to the windshield. A second wave of tickets were issued hours later and the van had visible tickets.
A citizen tells the desk crew there is someone laying on the floorboard. Fire arrives and discovers both dopeheads are dead. A crime scene complete with yellow tape is cordoned off.
How embarrassing it was when the afternoon newscasts show the van with tickets, two dead bodies and crime scene tape in front of the station. You would think someone would have peered into the van. Captain obvious was RDO that day.
Double parking is not uncommon there. Nothing out of the ordinary there. Dead body in a car. Not so uncommon either in Chiraq. Its sad but just another day in our city of joy
I skimmed the article. Was it confirmed that the person was shot on that street /block? Could have been called-in elsewhere and they drove to this spot and expired. Not defending the end of the Shotspotter contract, just saying that this scenario could have happened with or without it if the person shot drives away from the shooting location.

That's an easy one. You don't have to look inside a parked car to issue a parking ticket. You don't even have to look at much more than the plate sometimes. You're not required to look in the windows for corpses.
The real problem is that shitheads in the ghetto park like assholes all the time, like an entitlement. So the blame for him going undiscovered for so long is the prevalence and frequency of illegal parking in the ghetto. Prove me wrong

Hmmmm. 2 + hours? So there must be no patrol being done in that area. Surely the Beat car or a rapid or a Sgt would have driven past it.....Or was someone afraid of catching a DUI arrest and put their blinders on. We cant blame the Mayor or lack of shot spotter for everything. Although he absolutely screwed up getting rid of it and is quite inadequate for the job.
It was unacceptable for Rahm to get elected when he wasn't a resident, but nothing happened. It was unacceptable when Groot spent more time in New Buffalo than at her supposed residence in Chicago, but nothing happened. It's unacceptable that Conehead lives in the suburbs instead of the black west side with his black wife and black kids, but nothing will happen. A large portion of CPS "teachers" live outside the city, but nothing happens. Police bosses live outside the city, but nothing happens. Unacceptable doesn't mean shit in Chicago. You just have to be special enough to have your misdeeds ignored. Nothing will ever change.
Sometimes even the most proactive officer will drive around a double parked car without making them move or issuing a ticket. It's a big city with a lot of double parked cars. With the ridiculous manpower shortage, sometimes you have certain streets that don't get patrolled very often. Your silly jump to assuming someone ignored it to avoid a DUI arrest is just ridiculous. Most likely scenario is that no police drove past it while it was parked there, because they were busy elsewhere.
I wonder how many carjackers approached the car only to change their minds after seeing driver with a hole in his head
