What Changed?
Someone pointed out that Cuck Goudie made his name chasing down mob bosses and asking them questions about their illicit businesses. A lot of these were old men, but dangerous men, who had people killed for various reasons and probably would do it again given the correct set of circumstances.
But for some reason, Cuck wouldn't do that with Chicago or Cook County or Illinois politicians....at least not in the recent decades.
Were those politicians scarier than actual Outfit guys?

On the topic of cooked and sellout politicians, Ald. St. Nick Sposato (38th) wasn't the only alder giving out Christmas bonuses to this staff in 2024.
Sposato gave out 3 - $20,000.00 bonuses & 1 - $18,155.00 bonus to his staffers
Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) gave out 1- $14,872.00 bonus to Trina Mangrum in addition to her $120,000 salary
and 1 - $14, 782.00 bonus to Nanida Cleveland in addition to her $85,008 salary. Cleveland already collects a CPD pension of $76,414.32 (2022) after retiring on 11-16-2013.
All staffers getting the bonuses were working in positions titled Asst the Alderman.
More aldermanic staffers bonuses to come, including staffers in Ald. Gregory Mitchell's 7th Ward office.
It's all about ratings. People worship the old outfit and it's tales. Anyone born and raised in Chicago has a story of bumping into a "connected " guy. Whenever it was sweeps week the mob stories came out of the closet.

Each time political news reporter Heather Cherone asked Superintendent Snelling or Conehead a legit question, Snelling yells at her and over talks her. Media personnel tries to stay “in line” or else their CPD media credentials will be revoked by News Affairs. Often times they have to inform the News Affairs of the questions they want to asked first, before the cameras start rollings. The days of Chuck Goudie, Dorothy Tucker and Pam Zekmam are over.

I remember when he confronted Betty Loren Maltese, the Town of Cicero's president. She was a local official. He uncovered all sorts of corruption and improprieties. Her armored Jeep suv paid for with Cicero tax dollars.

Yessir, like the sinkhole potholes on Irving Park Rd between Harlem and Oak Pak Aves. in Sposato's 38th Ward. These potholes haven't been fixed and then repaved correctly in over in almost 4 years.
That may be because Heather Cherone is not a serious reporter. She is anti-police and only trying to make a name for herself. Bad example.
Alderman Irvin and his wife, City Treasurer Melissa Irvin are Chief Talley’s clout. The DEI westside connection prevails against.
Mob guys have far more class than politicians. The mobsters want to stay out of the news. The politicians want to be in the news, but only in a positive way. The politicians can get press credentials revoked if they don't like the coverage.
All those bonuses should of went back into the budget that was short. Again Nick has become as big an a--hole as previous alderman.
Why didn’t that insurance guy Michael Segal sing to the frds rather than go to prison? Who were they really after, Sh-rt Sh-nks?
