Career Ending
There was a fundraiser the other day for the Officer injured in the Dexter Reed incident. We didn't mention it explicitly because putting up the poster would have been an invitation to all sorts of assholes to either disrupt, protest or travel to the area to damage off-duty officers vehicles.
But during said it event, it was learned that the Officer, who was shot in the hand by the deceased piece of shit, will never return to the job.
Ever.
Extensive physical therapy will give him some function back, but permanent duty disability is his future, after less than a decade in what he described as his "dream job."
And certain alderassholes and mayor asshole still want to give away taxpayer money to another asshole who denied this young man a future. The Officer was willing, and could have done so much for the city, while the dead asshole only supplied dope, gunfire and misery.

Scc,I say this all the time. After an officer is shot all the msm says is " not life threatening injuries " . But the are often life altering. A man can't use his arms,hands or legs, or officer yanez,shot in the head, all survivable but destroys a young persons quality of life and earning potential for life. Not to mention social life disabled or in a wheel chair for life. I think anyone that shoots police should get the death penalty. The democrats army of homicidal flying monkeys has gotten out of control and must be stopped.
Im sure most have seen these 10th district hard charging tac-tic-toc officer utilizing the new hands off de-escalational training the dept is shoving down new recruits throats at the academy.

I remember a white shirt, don’t remember his rank, that was injured od in a motorcycle accident. He was confined to a motorized handicapped scooter. I believe he may have been assigned to the Crime Lab. If this officer took a bullet, the Dept needs to take care of him. Jayne Byrne always took care of the police.

Not only is he ever to do his dream career ever again , he is still being portrayed as basically an offender by some and even some alderman . I’ll never forget that some officers in the beginning blamed all 5 officers and arm chaired quarterbacked each and every one of these kids and blamed them right after the video , shit others blamed them before the video was even publicly released . Others brought up other stories of the teams work . Every copper who once talked shit about these guys should feel like the cucks you’re .
Young officers still being proactive please please make what these guys have gone through be a wake up call for you . It is great that you think you’re making a difference but you’re aren’t , at least in other cities they have your back when it goes south . Doing proactive policing is not worth it in this hellhole answer your jobs and that’s it , driving a unarmed beat up ford explorer with dents all over isn’t worth your health , your livelihood , your life , and your family . If you want to be a proactive cop do it in a suburb or better yet federal .
What’s sad is they’re still blaming every officer involved including him .
Any officer doing blue cards needs to stop so you don’t end up like them , you see how it goes when a Piece of shit cop killer wannabe tries blasting you . If this happened in a red state like IN or FL these officers would be promoted to supervisors for the heroic actions they did that day . If your current on CPD or retired from the dept and your your son or daughter for whatever reason wants to get on this thankless dept save them and do your best to change them I bet these officers wish they could’ve been somewhere else .
He needs to file a lawsuit against Dead Dex's " estate" for permanent disfigurement and loss in case Dead Dex money grubbing family gets paid...

It’s too easy! FOP should hire a lawyer for said officer and sue the estate of said dead guy. If this city tries to backdoor the taxpayers and give his family money. Due to the judgment, the estate will get NOTHING! Rather have the Officer get the money..but hey this will never happen.

That’s terrible news. So sorry to hear this. I hope this officer sues the estate of Dexter and puts any and all of the money Dexter’s estate may get from any lawsuits into his pocket. Fuck Dexter Reed and fuck anyone that thought Dexter Reed was justified in his actions of engaging the police in a gun battle.
Officers that have received LOD altering injuries have a bond, wisdom, and perspective that needs to be shared with active troops and those that follow, if they are willing, capable, or available to share. May those responsible be held to account for a recovered settlement. Salutes to each and every one.

Being a realist, I see this as a blessing in disguise. While I hope he makes as close to a full recovery as possible, this job is a dead end save for those with the proper pedigree.

While what transpired is absolutely tragic, none of this would’ve happened had these officers - all ADULTS - made the conscious decision to NOT play the Departments Numbers Game. The chances of stepping into a total shitshow on this job go up exponentially when you’re proactive. The alarm bell regarding this has been sounded for a very, VERY long time, only the hardheaded amongst you choose to ignore the institutional wisdom imparted by the “lazy dinosaurs”.
There are occupational hazards involved in any job. And those multiply exponentially in LE… especially in a shithole blue city like Chicago. If you’re not smart enough to weigh the consequences to your actions, perhaps this ain’t the job for you.

Commander Joe Murphy. Automobile accident off duty right after he was promoted to commander (like, the day he was promoted or just a few days later). I didn't know him well, but seemed like a very good guy. They kept him on for many years as a civillian director (=commander rank). My understanding is that the accident was caused by exhausted driving (fell asleep) while he was driving to an out-of-town vacation home for a few days away. Recently passed away.
Watch the one PO approach the dirt bag who still talking smack... with his hand down and in his pockets... back in the day my fto used give me a friendly tap in the face everytime he caught me with my hands in my pockets like that .. straight wana be-ssss. Its like the PO in 10 who got a chunk of his ear ripped off.. watch that video.. then there is the one where the tac guys from 10 are in an alley with a bad guy and someone shoots at them from down the alley ... one of the POs just starts popping shots off down the alley with no one in sight and a good few seconds after the shots at them were over
