Manpower

Well, it seems obvious to us, the manpower situation is getting a wee bit desperate. Low crime districts are getting stripped of manpower to cover high crime areas and as a result, the criminals are realizing it's easy pickings where there aren't any coppers (cause and effect). Does anyone have the budgeted numbers for patrol versus what patrol actually fields? We know you can run a 9161 title code search but that doesn't give you a true picture of what the districts are putting into the field. How about some information regarding "ghost" cars or down cars or denials of time off due to shortages?

Even when districts like 022, are fully staffed, there's rarely more than 5-6 people available to take jobs and handle assignments. Its rather harsh to blame the working officers, not matter how bad you think they might be, there just are any bodies available. There's no body available for backup or to assist officers who may have questions, etc. Sgts are often working on CR#'s or some commander's latest project, handling a funeral detail, or running errands, so where do you find anyone to do anything.

Cline/Mauer have so stripped the districts of manpower to fill their TRU unit, that the Districts can barely man the primary beats. Check out the S/S districts if you think I'm wrong.
