Are all of the POs that Starks brought with him to the First Deputy's Office still there now that the Department has been reorganized. It would not make sense to have all that personnel up there considering he just is responsible for CAPS now. Maybe his staff can come back and join us in Patrol PUSHING BEAT CARS. All are welcome.

You South siders just don't get it. I live in 016 and I personally do not have anything against the South side but I have noticed that Southsiders do have a chip on their shoulder about being from the southside. Do I live w/ my parents? NO. Do I own my own home? YES, just had it appraised for $485,000. and only spent $170,000. on it.
Are their dog coppers in 016 ? Absolutely, but their are dog coppers in EVERY District including the Southside.
has anyone ever wondered why coppers takes a long time to get to calls involving o.d. p.o.'s? The answer might not be with the copper, or dispatcher, it might be the dumb call taker. I'd love to see a thread started on calling out OEMC and the neanderthals that they hire as dispatchers. Zone12 is pathetic! These women (Michelle Driver and Dana (can't remember her last name) have the communication skills of a 4th grader. It's like I'm listening to someone who just came "out da house" from "day crib" over at Hirsch & Karlov and just sat down to dispatch jobs. I was on the wagon one night with no PDT and a job came over from M.Driver who said, "72 go assist 25 over on lacrosse - something 'bout that cobra that was kilt over there.' A few minutes later another unit came over the air asking the zone to read the ticket over the air for units without PDTs. She said, "um - duly noted." But never came over with anything. Guess she didn't want to put down her chips and red pop. So we show up and there are 10 units on the street and someone says, "Did you read the ticket on this one?" Turns out shithead called 911 and told the call taker that "I'm going to kill any police that show up and those that I don't get with my gun, I'm sicking my pitbull on!" That would have been nice to know before rolling up in front of the house. Old timers tell me it was much better back in the day when they had P.O.s putting the jobs out. I live in 016 and it's a GREAT place to live. Great schools, parks, and shopping. Yes I have called the police and have waited many many many minutes, and it does piss you off. I know there are some GOOD coppers in 016 and there are some REAL DOGS in 016. I have a theory as to why there are response problems in 016. Back in the day when there were only soooo many training districts 016 was NOT one of them but then the city in their infinite wisdon decided to let all ditricts become trainging districts BIG MISTAKE. Send a new guy there and odds there he will never leave. As far as working in 025, that place ins built on an ancient burial groung and is CURSED. If anything can happen it will happen in 025. Without a doubt the Bermuda Triangle of the CPD.

It's the Officer that counts not where they work. I've worked in virtually every part of the City during my career and I can tell you that EVERY district has their fair share of dogs and their fair share of working coppers. I've worked in 025. Its a fact, dogs exist everywhere. Some of which are dogs who like to act like they have done their work. I respect the officer who has worked for 30 years and still makes street stops and brings in activity. working 7-15 years 3 of which were activity filled doesn't mean that you have the God-given right to stop doing anything. We all have our days but refusing to do anything is contagious and bad for the young guys who will take over.
The quality of Policeman is a direct result of the amount and the variety of things they have encountered. As said, places like 016 have no business taking in recruits. But, in the same respect, you can't work in 16 since probation, make the gang team and feel you can be the Police anywhere. I feel that, in this day and age, the activity of someone with 7-15 years on should take it upon himself to teach, and lead by example. There are soooo many young, new kids, that the teachers have retired, or found spots until retirement. The greatest thing aboutthis job 7-15 years ago were the teachers, and the teams of people who always looked out for the naive. This is something I wish would come back.
Some of you guys are embarrassing. To refer to another copper as a POS or say "Fuck 016" or that you would prefer the Niles or Norrige PD's is absolutely unforgiveable. I worked 20yrs in the worst parts of the city, i was always working hard when i came to work,,,i have been in shootings,i have seen other police officers dying in the street, i have more c.r. numbers that most tact units put together.i worked with some of the best officers in the city and know the best of the best,i now work in the 016th dist,, i came here to work my,,,,i said my neighborhood,we have many,many good working police officers here,but the ones that work and stop those shitheads also have to answer their radio calls, from people that pay us, like OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICERS,fireman,and other tax payers. but again we do have lots of DOG COPPERS that also pick up checks for doing nothing here, if anyone knows me, they will tell you,,he earned that 016th dist car,why is he still out there being the REAL POLICE, and i tell them...
