Shut Up Already

As unrepentant members of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (VRWC), we have an obligation to our neocon Haliburton puppetmasters to point out the idiocy of the media every so often because we earn up to 20% off our VRWC dues for every 50 mentions.

Oh, we weren't supposed to mention that? Sorry Mr. Cheney. Sorry Mr. Rumsfeld. Our bad.

Has anyone else noticed that as soon as a "media celebrity" gets beyond the shores of the USA, a country that guarantees freedom of the press, they can't help but reveal their true colors and slam the USA, the troops, or the ideals that actually allow them to their jobs? Case in point - Chris Matthews, MSNBC anchor and host of "Hardball" (via AceofSpades and LGF):
  • “"The period between 9/11 and Iraq was not a good time for America. There wasn'’t a robust discussion of what we were doing,"” Matthews said. "“If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we'’ve given up. The person on the other side is not evil -— they just have a different perspective."

Just a reminder - here is a "different perspective"

This isn't evil? THIS. ISN'T. EVIL? Don't we have Sedition Laws in this country?

"The other side is not evil, they just have a different perspective??" Wonder if Matthews would retain that perspective if he were a passenger on one of the airliners heading for the WTC (maybe his hardball would not be so.....hard?)

Speaking of "evil", today the FBI issued its UCR for "Law Enforcement Officers Killed" during 2004 with statistical tables. Note that in the 2001 totals, all NYPD and Port Authority officers killed in 9/11 are NOT included.

Why Iraq war support fell so fast

US public support has dropped faster than during the Vietnam and Korean wars, polls show.

By Linda Feldmann | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor

WASHINGTON – The three most significant US wars since 1945 - Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq - share an important trait: As casualties mounted, American public support declined.
In the two Asian wars, that decline proved irreversible. With Iraq, the additional bad news for President Bush is that support for the war in Iraq has eroded more quickly than it did in those two conflicts.

For Mr. Bush, low support for his handling of the war - now at 35 percent, according to the latest Gallup poll - has depleted any reserves of "political capital" he had from his reelection and threatens his entire agenda. Last week's bombshell political developments, both the bipartisan Senate resolution calling for more progress reports on Iraq and the stunning call for withdrawal by a Democratic hawk, Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania, have not helped.

But the seeds of Bush's woes were planted early on. Just seven months into the Iraq war, Gallup found that the percentage of Americans who viewed the sending of troops as a mistake had jumped substantially - from 25 percent in March 2003 to 40 percent in October 2003.

In June 2004, for the first time, more than half the public (54 percent) thought the US had made a mistake, a figure that holds today.

The Man Who Sold the Iraq War: John Rendon, Bush's General in the Propaganda War

Investigative journalist James Bamford examines how the Bush administration and Iraqi National Congress used the PR firm Rendon Group to feed journalists - including Judith Miller -- fabricated stories in an effort to sell the war. The firm has received millions in government contracts since 1991 when it was hired by the CIA to help "create the conditions for the removal of Hussein from power." Iraq wasn't the first regime change case for Rendon. In 1989 the CIA turned to Rendon to use a variety of campaign and psychological techniques in Panama to put the CIA's choice, Guillermo Endara, into the presidential palace to replace Gen. Manuel Noriega

So you'd like to see the C.P.D. do someing about the antiquated firearm regulations. Several years ago and after the whole world had direct deposits for years for their paychecks the C.P.D. started a pilot program in one of the districts for 6 months to see if it would work.

Good luck with a change in firearms regulations.

I too wonder what Chris Matthews was thinking when he said: “The person on the other side is not evil they just have a different perspective”. However information from your posting is lacking in context. I checked the source of your information and again no context. I went to the Toronto Sun and again the quote is not put in any context. The remarks were apparently made at an event at the University of Toronto on 19 November 2005. Was he referring to Osama Bin Laden and those responsible for the 9/11 attacks? Was he referring to Saddam Hussein? Was he referring to individuals who would blow themselves up to make a religious or political statement? Was he referring to apparently educated individuals who have middle class backgrounds who for whatever reason participate in coordinated attacks like 9/11 or the London underground bombings? Was he referring to one of the 45% of the Iraqi populace who believes that it is acceptable to attack their American protectors? Was he referring to one the 80% of the Iraqi populace who want the U.S. to withdraw? Was he referring to all persons that do not support U.S. policy? Was he referring to the endless babble that is the left vs. right debate? We don’t know the answer to these questions because your use of the quotes, like the rush to the Iraq war, lack intelligence and context.

What we need in this country is not attacks on the present administration, on politicians left or right. We need thoughtful debate. We need to state plainly and simply our objectives, and then debate if we want to devote the resources in blood and treasure to achieve them. We need to ask all our citizens to engage in this debate. We need all our citizens to share in the sacrifice of our men and women that serve us so proudly. We need to pay for this war as we fight it. We need to put partisanship to the side.
I think our troops have served us proudly, and have accomplished their mission. They were sent there to topple Saddam Hussein and render safe the capability of his regime to use weapons of mass destruction. They have done this and more. What more do we ask of these brave men and women? That should be the question.

11/21/2005 08:46:00 PM

WELL SAID! The "mission" is accomplished- bad guy locked up- now let them "manifest" their own destiny, or we WILL be rightly seen as the NEW ROMAN EMPIRE (and then you'll finally realize why more and more of the world will grow to hate our guts- it won't be for our "freedom"!)

The war in Iraq is bigger than Saddam and his WMDs. The war in Iraq is the battle royale for Al-Queda/Sunni extremism. This is what Osama wanted, us vs. them. If we pull out of Iraq Al-Queda will move onto the Saudis, Jordanians, Egyptians, and Europe. This is their Stalingrad. Show some nerve and steel like our fathers at Valley Forge, the Alamo, Gettysburg, Normandy Beach, Inchon, the Tet offensive. Honor and thank the volunteers in our armed forces who fight to protect us in the brutal mountains of Afganistan, streets of Fallujah, Ramadi, Mosul, and Najaf. Someday these names on a map to you, will be great American victories for the defense of freedom to future generations. So go ahead and keep whining that GWB lied and thousands died. Slap some stupid bumper sticker on your car, that's all people like you have ever done for freedom, and will ever do.
Rome you say? WE are a freedom loving people who only wish to live in peace, but will fight when pushed. Rome dominated the world through military might. We dominate the world through our culture, acadamia, finance, medicine, freedom. PAX AMERICANA

http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/killed/2004/openpage.htm

Circumstances

An examination of the assault data revealed that most officers, 30.7 percent, were assaulted when responding to disturbance calls. Thirteen percent of the officers were handling, transporting, or had custody of prisoners, 11.1 percent were conducting traffic pursuits or stops, and 9.3 percent were investigating suspicious persons or circumstances. Nearly 2 percent (1.8) of the officers were handling mentally deranged persons at the time they were assaulted, 1.4 percent were investigating burglaries in progress or were pursuing burglary suspects, 1.2 percent were policing civil disorders, and 0.9 percent were responding to robberies in progress or were pursuing robbery suspects. The circumstance in which the lowest percentage of law enforcement officers, 0.3 percent, were assaulted was ambush situations. Over 16 percent (16.3) of officers were attempting other types of arrests, and 13.8 percent were attacked while performing other duties. (See Table 67.)

PAX AMERICANA ?
War Is Peace
Freedom Is Slavery
Ignorance Is Strength

Over 50 years of treachery (and counting!)

2002: In September, the White House issued its "National Security Strategy", which declared:

"Our forces will be strong enough to dissuade potential adversaries from pursuing a military build-up in hopes of surpassing, or equaling, the power of the United States.... America will act against such emerging threats before they are fully formed.... We must deter and defend against the threat before it is unleashed.... We cannot let our enemies strike first.... To forestall or prevent such hostile acts by our adversaries, the United States will, if necessary, act preemptively."

Preemptiveness is essentially the rationale imperial Japan, without being overly paranoid, used to justify its attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, and which Nazi Germany, as a sham pretext, used to justify its invasion of Poland in 1939.

WTF? There is no comparison between the U.S. and The Nazis or The Empire of Japan. U.S. Foreign policy has been to attack enemies on Foreign soil before they attack on U.S. Soil. It's been that way for more the 50 years as set fourth by The Marshall Plan and The Truman Doctrine in order to contain communism abroad. GWB didn't just create this Sh!t!!!!!

A 39-year-old detective with the Riverdale Police Department was shot and killed on February 4 while handling a prisoner who was brought to the police department on charges of Home Invasion, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Attempted First-Degree Murder. At 8:15 p.m. , the veteran detective with 12 years of law enforcement experience was moving the prisoner from an interview room to a lock-up area for processing. The man, who was not handcuffed at the time, managed to remove the detective’s service weapon, a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun, from its holster. He led the detective outside and forced him behind a building where he shot him in the side of the head, killing him instantly. The 27-year-old suspect then attempted to carjack three separate cars but was unsuccessful, even though he shot at and wounded the driver of the first car. The drivers of the other two vehicles used their cars to knock him down as they sped away. Three Riverdale police officers arrived on the scene and ordered the suspect to drop his weapon. He responded by firing the weapon at the officers. The officers returned fire, striking the suspect. He died at the scene.

Now, if you want to do the "Parking Lot Shuffle" with me, you'll have to stop primping and actually come out of the ladies washroom and actually ask to "dance". See you at work, like always, whomever you are, or try hard claiming not to be! You're starting to sound like a budding abortion clinic bomber or something- you're not that cowardly, are you? Hell, try and shoot me, bomb me- if that's all you've got! You couldn't hit the side a barn I'll bet. Lots of brave tuff guyz behind the keybored lately. Remember- you don't have to call me on the phone when we're both at work, Einstein! But honestly- if goading me helps with your sexual dysfunction, by all means keep on keystrokin' my name and strokin' yourself to it. Hard to be you when it don't get hard no more. Try losing the CAPS LOCK too, or stop alternating between the two styles to "throw me off"- your jumbled thoughts just might coalesce in a more cogent fashion, Binky! Usually carrying on a multi-person dialogue with yourself is defined as dysfunctional in the Minnesota Multi-Phasic, but maybe it just works for your particular style of sadism. I shall hereby call you "Feeling Minnesota", in honor of the movie, the Soundgarden song and your Berkowitz like rants... "Sam of Sam" has a nice ring to it as well, come to think of it...! S.O.S...
