"Borrowing" a computer here at the moment. No, it's not a Department computer.
We're looking into a loaner or new computer, so posting might be light for the next day or three while we assess possibilities. We've secured the use of this one for a little bit, but it's someone else's and we don't want to be greedy or abuse the favor.
Everyone catch this article? Another dead junkie? If people are determined to chase that elusive high, there's nothing the police or politicians can do about it. Just make sure we keep sending the body snatchers out there pick up the results.

Yes, they finally got the right idea. The Chicago Tribune wants the F.O.I.D. fees increased to 100usc. a year. Active P.O.'s would be exempt. But the retired guys, NO. Most of the guys standing on the corner do not have FOID cards. Raising the fee is not going to disarm them or the ones arming them.

hey malcolm, is it the poor, or your kindred that you are speaking of? Perhaps you can tell me why it is that the 007th district which is predominantly (african American)needs so many officers? They have more police in the area than any other distict in the city, and they are not the largest in sq. miles, or per capita, but they have the most. I am happy to be snug in my bed, however, I know for a fact that I don't receive half as much police presence as the citizens of Englewood,or any other (disadvantaged)community. Why is that? Are these communities better than us? Why are they so deserving? Sorry for the rant, but good ole mx and his one sided views get to me sometimes............

Think I have a runner up to 1611. 811 was held down the last 2 nights on curfews. Code talk for unable to man the car. So 812 had to cover an approximate area from I-55 to 65thand Harlem to Central.
