Dumbass of the Month

Welcome to our "Dumbass of the Month" for March - and March is only 4 days old:
  • A woman who apparently thought a block of white cheese was cocaine has pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hit man to rob and kill four men.
You read that correctly - she mistook a block of fresco cheese (common in Mexican cuisine) for a block of cocaine and hired a hitman (read "police officer") to whack the entire family. Wow. Maybe we ought to make it a "Dumbass of the Week," because someone is going to top this one - probably someone from here.

And at the end of the day, and into the second day of this post, not one "BOSS" had a comment. Now who say's politic's don't rule this department.
I'm here just to say this is pathetic. Purely pethetic. Behind closed door's patrolman are looked at as a pain in the ass, or we just don't get it.
I've lot's of friend's that are bosses, and I hear this.
I've been to FOP meeting's, and I hear the same thing: "You got it all wrong, or that's how it is...there's nothing we can do"(ON ANY SUBJECT).
Pathetic... If the patrolman, who has no clout, has a union that is physicaly and verbally anonymous, then expect nothing.
My point is that if the city government support's (f)red (h)ampton, and not a single command member has the gall to speak up, and your union hasn't called an emegency...Then we have become nothing.
Thank only the politic's for the fall of the CPD. I never thought I would see this day.
God bless any of you that has lost a family member, or comrade... St. Jude's day is near.
God bless any of you that has lost your families to divorce, and continue to work.
God bless any of you who have ended your night in a bottle of booze, and continue to work.
God bless any of you who suffer the incompetence of corporation counsel at your law suit, and continue to work.
God bless ALL the patrolman that see through all this thin B.S.

No union support, no political support, no brass support.
No support, and they scratch their asses wondering what's wrong.

Soooooo you really think that you're pissed off! You really believe that the politicians, bosses are looking the oher way!
Well now that we have established that naming a street after a cop killer has no priorities with the powers to be....THE BEST THING THAT OFFICERS AS GROUP CAN DO...is to BOYCOTT ST JUDE'S...The Mayor and other are only there for a photo-ops, they can't be sincere about honoring the memories of fallen comrades, so why does the rank and file buy into this fakery
Po's by their presence and participation rubber stamps this continous mockery......some would argue that the parade is to show solidarity, honor to and for the rank and file who are no longer with us.....in that case next year St. Jude's should start off on Fred Hampton Blvd

MUMIA Abu-Jamal, aka Wesley Cook, the former "minister of information" for the Philadelphia Chapter of the BPP, executed, Officer Danny Faulkner, Philly PD.

Let us not forget that the fugitive Joanne Chesimard (aka: Assata Shakur), since escaped to asylum in Castro's Cuba after being convicted and imprisoned for the execution-style murder of a NJ state trooper. She was a former member of the BPP and the Black Liberation Army in NYC. Chesimard was the "mastermind" of the separate double murders of Officers Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones in Harlem as well as Rocco Laurie and Gregory Foster in the East Village. Officers Jones and Foster were black. All were BLUE!

The triggermen, born Anthony BOTTOM and Herman BELL, have since adopted Arabic/Muslim names and are currently seeking parole from the penitentiary.

To 10:23

We go to St Jude's to honor the memory of our fallen brethren....it's an opportunity to be unified...it's an honor to walk the streets with ALL of the officers who are there....it's a chance to see friends we haven't seen for a while.....boycotting that parade would be turning our backs on the sacrifices others have made...to keep this city safe and to keep us safe.

In my humble opinion, 10:23's idea is absolutely brilliant.

Odds are that 11:59 and 12:52 are spineless bosses who realize that a mass boycott of the St. Jude's Parade gives the troops the greatest possible leverage in bringing the mealy-mouthed, hypocritical politicians and the spineless, suckhole police brass to their knees.

Do any of you really believe that these scumbags would hesitate to take a dump on the graves of our heroes, specifically John Gilhooly and Frank Rappaport, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the most noble and exemplary traditions of the Chicago Police Department?

FUGGEDDABOUDIT! Not if they can prostitute themselves by attempting to curry favor with certain factions of the electorate.

Unless Daley and your "leaders" grow a pair and STAND UP for our fallen comrades, I would suggest that on that very special Sunday, each and every one of you go to your respective houses of worship without fail and quietly offer prayers for the repose of the souls of our MURDERED HEROES!

BOYCOTT THE TRAVESTY! Unless things change, it's nothing but a dog and pony show!

The silence out of City Hall and 35th and Michigan is DEAFENING! They have time to act.

Tick-Tock!

Hey....2:26....are you brainless?
St Jude is not about making a political statement. It is about honoring our brothers who have fallen in the line of duty. God forbid, if you ever have a friend who was murdered on this job, you will one day understand. If we don't show up, it looks like we don't care about those who have fallen. You might figure this out after a few years on the job.
Have a nice career.

St JUDE BOYCOTT IS "NOT" the answer. This is OUR time to remember OUR fallen brothers in Blue. Don't screww this UP.
Other alternatives are work slow down, NOT writing Tickets for a day etc. NO DOPE< or GUN PINCHES. But just don't screw around with St. JUDE!!!!!!!

I can assure you that Northside is far from brainless. I know that he has actually handled at least two double homicides of police officers, both as a homicide detective in Area 6 and as a supervisor in 025. Your "nice career" comment is belated since Northside's career of over 30 years is over.

Perhaps with LEADERSHIP from Daley and Cline, we could have a record turn-out for the St. Jude's March.

I also agree that only if necessary, a boycott is the appropriate response. Go to your own church or synagogue instead.
While Rush and Haithcock speak for "Kill the Pigs" Hampton, who will speak for Gilhooly and Rappaport? How can we show solidarity if we don't have leaders?

Do you have a better idea? If so, let's hear it.

Currently there are 453 Chicago Police Officers killed/died in the line of of performance of duty. Shame on anyone to even think about boycotting St. Jude. Let's see what happens at City Hall first. And to those who don't realize it, Daley won't go to St. Jude to support his police department. It's his family day to be with Maggie or Rev. Meeks depending who's on the rag that day.

Never say never. Desperate circumstances call for desperate measures, Sharky.

Rush and Haithcock sure stirred up a hornet's nest by trying to name a street after a scumbag that indisputably advocated the wanton murders of police officers. Then the Panthers name a couple of clinics after a 19-year-old cop killer.

You can't sit this one out on the fence. Unless the powers that be lead the way, BOYCOTT!

The ball is in the city's court!

R.I.P. John Gilhooly & Frank Rappaport

You know I have been reading the last few days like everyone else. I agree boycotting St. Jude is not the answer and there will never be enough unity to accomplish a work slowdown.

I think the answer is a unified showing at the 29 March City Council meeting for the street sign vote. Let's see the council members actually make their votes while looking at our people. We should be respectful and quiet but a presence none the less.

I think FOP and PBPA should organize this showing jointly. Finally spend some of our dues for good rather than line their pockets with it. If the street sign passes, FOP and PBPA should use that PAC money to work to at ousting those members of the city council who voted for the street sign. These politicians are not our friends. We have ousted a judge, we can oust a aldercreature. It doesn't matter what color they are as we have members and family members of all nationalities who live in the wards that these people supposedly represent. We represent a large influential voting tax paying block who could do great things with one little punch of a card.

Think about it people, there is more than one way to get the job done. We would be hitting the aldercreatures where it hurts, in their pockets.

One of working folks, including police officers, major problems is APATHY. It much easier to make a statement by NOT showing up than as you suggest, having hordes of people with lives to show up for a city council meeting.

Often times, demonstrators that do show up are unemployed and have nothing better to do than hop on an organizer's buses with placards and signs made by the organizers. You know this is true!

If only City Hall would defend us or Haithcock and Rush would have the courage to admit that their proposal is polarizing and devisive. The evidence that Hampton and the Panthers advocated the murders of police officers is blatant and beyond dispute.

Before you talk about "ousting" Ald. Haithcock, perhaps you should check the boundaries of the 2nd Ward.

Same goes for ex-Panther Rush and the 1st Congressional District.

Let's see what happens in the days ahead.

In the worst case scenario, BOYCOTT ST. JUDE for the sake of our beloved fallen comrades. They made the ultimate sacrifice and are not receiving the RESPECT they so richly deserve.

I still can't believe that any rational, decent, law-abiding person could even conceive of naming a public street after the local leader of avowed cop killers.

It is obvious that those calling for a boycott of the St. Jude March are
a) not police

b) rarely attend the march and never appreciated it's meaning.

c)have an aggenda to divide us for greater or lesser reasons.

So ignore 'em.

It is also obvious that the silence on this issue is political. This is PRIMARY month.

Mike Royko explained the Chicago Machine credo in his book "Boss".
"Don't make no waves, don't back no losers".

The order to the brass deals with the waves. We know who the losers are in dealing with the hall.

The smart move is to simply, quietly, in unison, TURN EASTBOUND on CHICAGO AVENUE.

He would not have to be there to get that message, and we can solemnly pay OUR respects. Together, as ONE

Please be more lucid. WTF are you talking about?

In your last paragraph, who is "he"?

Consider that "it is obvious" that the comments of "lp" are at best, abstract, even illogical and clueless as to the critical importance of leadership (or the abysmal lack thereof).

Why should this dysfunctional police department stage a disingenuous dog and pony show when the so-called leaders don't even have the courage to defend the honor of Officers Gilhooly and Rappaport against racist demagogues like Rush, Haithcock and their ilk.

Does our Creator ignore our private prayers for our fallen comrades?

Solidarity??? Keep it real!

The St. Jude's Parade is ours, richie does not show up and I don't want him there. So let's Show up and march.

At the St. Patrick's Day parade, a large group of retirees and widows ought to lay down in the street in front of da mayor. Make him leave or step over them.

Have spokespersons ready with stories for the media. Arrest them? Make the gold braid bunch do it.

THIS WOULD BE ON THE FRONT PAGE AROUND THE WORLD!!

2016 Olympics...not likely.

Go to the parade. Honor our fallen.
If you must use the parade to make a statement about the hampton stret sign, how about we let 002 and 003 carry Gilhooly and Rappaport banners (as large as possible) during the parade.

Or, if you must, fall out before the review stand.

While the idea of turning east on chicago avenue, and having a private service by the lake sounds almost magical, it would require the brass to be willing participants, something they will never do.
