The Wrong Boycott

Some readers are advocating a boycott of the St. Jude's Memorial March. This is silly. We haven't missed a St. Jude march in our entire careers and don't plan on doing so in the future either. We don't march for the bosses. We certainly don't march for the mayor (who hasn't been seen at a St. Jude parade in years) or aldercreatures (we couldn't identify them if they did show up).

Simply put, we march for the dead. Because someone has to. Because someone should. Because some of us feel it is our duty to remember, because too many people don't. Fortunately, most of the people who don't remember are not police officers. The Chicago Police Department is blessed with a very long collective memory. And we are a part of that memory, having been on the scene of and acquainted with more than one line of duty death.

Boycotts only work in cases where economic pressure can be brought to bear. All other movements benefit from a large physical presence. If we want to make an impact, then we have to stick together, show up as a whole, and present a united front to our opponents. Retreating from the field does nothing but dishonor the dead.

St.Jude's Memorial March is for the fallen officers. My God its also for the families of those fallen officers. In this day and age of "fast" food, high-tech technology, sometimes a misguided sense of "values" occur...a sense of laziness developes. could be a "pain in the ass" to get up in the morning, "go down there"..but its a small sacrifice to make for "bodies of our own" that can't do what the living can.

I know my thought may not count a NO SHOW at ST JUDE is really a moot point. We would be no better then the Brass. Are you there for yourself, the brass, or the no uniform inspection. No, you are there for one reason and one reason alone. Your the representation of their silent voice an honor to their sacrifice.

Not to be there is silence of the sacrifice! Is this not what we are accusing the Brass of silence?

For those of who choose to trash the memories of our fallen you need to be ignored, no response.

We are carrying our fallen, you see they are not here to walk the march themselves. This is not a parade. It is a death march with honor, it is every officers opportunity to help us lift them up high, not to drag them.

They are marching with us end of story!

On Commands Fears:

We need a different direction then to boycott ST JUDE. Action after the Grand Stand should be considered as the focus. Do not allow the selected crowd controler's to run you off.

The essence of St Jude is for us as police officers to pay honor to our fallen.

What we are actually doing, is carrying them physically within and through our hearts, and on through the Blue Wave.
Why, because they are not able to march on their own.

In essence during the march we hold each and everyone of them within ourselves at that momemt. Honoring their ultimate sacrifice the life they gave for each and everyone of us.

Why did Daley kiss the great collective ass of all those illegal immigrants earlier this month. Because they were powerful enough to raise that kind of crowd.

He FEARS that kind of power.

Make him FEAR US.

WE should not only march ourselves and our fallen brethren, but also get our comrades from other departments to march in solidarity with us. We should bring our families to the march get them in front of the TV cameras. Bring scout troops, anybody you can to create as big a crowd as we can. I want to see a lot of coppers from the C.C.S.P., I.S.P., N.Y.P.D., L.A.P.D. , the R.C.M.P. and anyone from anywhere who wears a uniform and are honored to call themselves the police to march with us.

I belong to a couple of organizations with suburban and county, state and federal law enforcement officers as members. I will ask the membership to get their departments to march. Maybe Crimefile can put in his blog that we want cops from everywhere here to march. If you have a foreign consulate on your beat, ask that their uniformed security force march with us and their families. (Some of them have really cool uniforms.)

The local news organizations should get their first team reporters on the parade. They should have a helicopter aloft to show how big a crowd we can raise. When in front of the cameras, tell them how we feel, think of good sound bites.

Remember, Ritchie will not be at the St. Jude Parade. Frankly, I don’t want him there, but I do want to make him FEAR US.

BREAKING NEWS! This just in after serious thought and disgust M.Seiser went to see the new chief of emergency commander Cortez Trotter and made it clear that he was the only man qualified for the job and was only a stepping stone on his way to world domination. M. Seiser was met with little resistance even after Trotter called his 40 henchman to dispose of the legend. After a series of rights, lefts, roundhouse kicks and even Ric Flair esque chops,WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Seiser left his competition in pain and agony. With only Trotter left the control of the entire city was well within Seiser's grasp. As he looked at Trotter with gleaming eyes Seiser used the infamous crane kick. The same crane kick he taught Ralph Machio ala the Karate Kid. Seiser used all his jealousy of Ralph Machio (who stole the role after it was found out that Seiser was knee deep in rice patties in the phillipines) to gain the energy needed to deliver the uber crane kick right to the junk of Trotter. As Trotter lie on the floor and saw the god like aura that was coming from Seiser, that left Trotter in immense fear and pain,Trotter now had no choice but to renounce his postition to Seiser. But soon after Seiser gained his new position he soon realized that no terrorist would dare ever attack the city knowing Sieser's god like presence was around. With this information Seiser was sad,but also taking into account he was one step closer to world domination, Seiser celebrated by ordering a 12 piece shrimp combo from J.J. Fish, watching the movie You Got Served, and going to North Ave where him and Joe Cassidy proceded to have a break dance contest to declare the new prince of North Ave

Watch where you eat!!

Sarpy County Sheriff's Deputies Poisoned

Two Sarpy County Sheriff's Deputies were apparently intentionally poisoned with methamphetamine in their food. Sarpy County Sheriff Jeff Davis tells KPTM that the deputies became sick after eating food at an area restaurant last week. He also says that one tested positive for methamphetamine today. Three deputies were eating at that restaurant, two of the deputies were in uniform at the time.

The deputies have recovered, and weren't seriously hurt. An investigative team made up of other agencies outside Sarpy County is tracking leads in the case. Sheriff Davis did tell KPTM that appears the poisoning was intentional.

I fail to see the logic in a St. Jude Boycott.

1) we are pissed at the brass for not condemming the hampton street sign, thereby dishonoring our fallen brothers.

So we...

2) Seek to boycott the St.Jude march to "make a statement", however at the same time we will be dishonoring our fallen brothers.

Am I missing something?
Does the above sound as stupid to you as it does to me?

We should be demonstrating how important our fallen officers are to repeat: important to us, maybe not to the brass, but important to us!
All of us should be at St. Jude, as all of us should care about honoring the memories and sacrifice these officers made.

I propose a different approach.
Let the brass see us. overwhelm the reviewing stand. creat a presence that the brass, and media, can't ignore...
I propose that, once we pass the reviewing stand, DON'T LEAVE!!!!
Instead of running for your cars, looking for friends/family, getting in that smoke you've been waiting 15 minutes for, STAY RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STAND!
10,000 police officers staring the brass straight in the eyes would send a strong message, and honor our fallen brothers (and their families) at the same time.

Its disgusting to think that folks on the previous blog EMPOWERED hampton to the extent of not honoring our fallen heros, and respecting thier families and the price they paid. If anything there should be TWICE THE AMOUNT OF OFFICERS, family and friends, to show the aldercreatures, the gangbangers, and any other bastard that wants to put you down the strength and power of the blue wave marching down the street. We march in May
Eyes with tears

We honor our fallen
Love in our hearts
Memories forever
Families take heart

Whether Troopers or Sheriffs
Together we’re strong
To fight all that’s evil
And right all the wrongs

They all fought the battle
Bravely and true
Courage under fire
Angels in blue

So join us this morning
Marching in peace
Brothers and sisters
We’re Chicago Police

How about participating in the march and when approaching the viewing stand and the exempts standing in line...put your eyes straight ahead....don't look at them....don't acknowledge them, don't salute. Continue on as if they don't exist. A command "Eyes front" would not only be heard...but all moving their heads in unison would show our lack of respect for the command staff....each unit from patrol to detectives.

I emailed Chris Cosgriff at the Officer Down Memorial about him hosting a petition up on his site. In addition, we shoudl have a seperate rally aside from the St. Jude March.

The St. Jude annual Memorial March is to honor all of our fallen officers, their family, friends, and comrades.

Let's keep that sacred, please. Thank you.

Alice, I also mentioned last night the SLAM STAND AKA GRAND STAND issue, you are so right! Breakfast or whatever can wait. We can make arrangments like we do every year to meet for worship, breakfast whatever. Only this time in greater numbers if we choose.

We know we get compressed at the grandstand, and I have seen boss's out there yelling KEEP MOVING, KEEP MOVING. We would all need to figure out how not to interfere with the ranks behind us, so the BLUE WAVE flows first class. We always say we are on our own, making we need to make sure the media is fully aware this is not a POLs, Empty Headed Brass organized honorable march. The march belongs to the Fallen.

We need a staging area immediately after the race in big numbers. Our large possible silent presence, humble to our fallen could be considered our voice an added tribute. The only voice you will hear is among us our fallen and our keeper.

Just throwing out a few more, ideas. Eyes forward from another post good, hands over heart instead of salute another post good, eyes to the families good, salute families good. We should pay the SLAM STAND NO MIND AT ALL. Above and beyound all SLAM STAND IS NOT VISIABLE!

Make it clear we are unified and there for all of our Fallen period.

Police shooting in 005 last night on 1st watch. Off-duty copper got robbed. Shots rang out. Thank God the Officer was not injured.

005th District Officers did an excellent job of tracking down the offender by following his footprints for over 3 blocks in the snow. Weapon & proceeds recovered in his possesion.

So, naturally none of these Officers had a personal break, let alone a lunch break.

Yet, when Captain White came on duty, she came up to the Area. Instead of congratulating her fellow 005th District Officers on a job well done, she was bitching about them being on overtime.

Gee, it really makes you wanna work there.

I feel that the FOP should demand HAZARD pay from the City for any Officer having to work in the 005th District.

If the work stoppage in the ghetto doesn't work then there should a work stoppage city wide. THIS WILL GET THE SHITHEADS (EXEMPTS) ATTENTION!

the only thing this fucked up dept. understands is numbers or lack thereof. let the doc run stats on nothing but ZEROS.... in the ditricts where aldercreatures support the pro cop killer hampton.
i can't believe not one fucking elected whore has stood up and said "hell no to any monument or street or credit to fred hampton."
if we let this pass w/o doing anything or taking any kind of action then we are worse than them, and the we cannot beef about anything anymore.

But those DOC cars already do nothing. So the no numbers in the DOC are already there. ALL DOC CARS ARE DOGS! ESPECIALLY THE 025 DOC CARS.
