You Gotta Love The City Bureaucracy

  • CHICAGO - Most high school students eagerly await the day they pass driver's education class. But 16-year-old Mayra Ramirez is indifferent about it. Ramirez is blind, yet she and dozens of other visually impaired sophomores in Chicago schools are required to pass a written rules-of-the-road exam in order to graduate,— a rule they say takes time away from subjects they might actually use.
Anyone want to bet that the only reason the CPS keeps teaching Driver's Ed to the blind isn't because they're "following the rules"; they're probably keeping the student numbers up so they can keep getting money from state and federal programs to spend somewhere else.

Man, we'd love to see Fitzgerald take a crack at the schools after he finishes chewing up Stroger's people at County. And of course, our own little cesspool at City Hall.

I'm not certain whether or not it is a state or city rule you have to pass driver's ed. I do know that today's high school students have to take at least one year of a foreign language to graduate. God forbid they spend the entire four years mastering the english language, the state makes them practice some dirt worshipping heathen language. This country was founded on the principles and worries of the majority. Our downfall since then has been our overwhelming concern with the goddamned minority.

Wrong, we will remain the majority as long as the beast roams freely through the streets of Englewood eating its own. At Mary Mitchells request I will turn down the invitation to proceed to the 007th District and stay out of their business as requested. The longer we keep voting for democrats the longer we will need a blogsite like SCC to vent. Wake-up, save yourself-Vote McCain!!!

Why is anyone surprised in the least bit that CPS is so fucked up. Forget about it. It's a dead issue.

Any copper who sends their kid to public school should be shot.

Now the county bureaucracy is in full swing. They already have raised the tax on cigarettes to $2 a pack, now they want to outlaw smoking county wide.

I don't smoke cigarettes, but I know many who do. I know, it's not good for you, and I'm all for banning smoking in restaurants....but taverns and bowling alleys? C'mon, get real, will ya?

Tax it, prohibit it, and generally screw everyone around. Didn't they try this with the 18th amendement during the last century? And we all know what a success that was....for organized crime.

Our economy started with agriculture....tobacco and cotton. If the tobacco industry went {poof} during the night, it would cripple many state economies.

You cannot legislate good habits, you can only educate and do your best. Big Brother is here....Stroger and company need to go get fucked.

Say a Hail Mary for Cook County Board President John Stroger, age 76. He was just hospitalized with a possible stroke. John Stroger is our only hope for meaningful REFORM in county government.

As you know, Mayor Daley, Sen. Durbin, former President Cliton, Reps. Rush and Jackson, James Whigham, Leroy Martin and Stroger's niece, 21st Dist. Cmdr. Adrienne Stanley are among our favorites endorsing Mr. Stroger.

We must defeat the evil Forrest Claypool, whatever the cost, next Tuesday! Tell your friends and neighbors!

Is it true Stroger was paid and early morning visit by the FBI, confronting with some the charges they have against him? He went wright to the hospital.

Aaaaaah, Stroger!
First of all he should have gone to jail for all that crap that came to the surface while rebuilding the old Cook County Hospital.
Secondly, IF it is such a highly touted and regarded hospital...WHY THE HELL DIDN'T STROGER GO THERE? [He went to two hospitals where he now sits and 'neither' was his namesake.]
What does that tell you?
Ray Charles can even see through this B.S.!!!
Maybe when he finally looses this election, he can get a job as Idi Amins' stunt double.
