The Slow Demise of the AFL-CIO
We predicted it months ago in some of our earlier postings - the 700,000 members of the Laborers' Union severed ties with the AFL-CIO and threw in with the "Change to Win" coalition. They join numerous other building trades who thought the AFL-CIO spent to much time campaigning for national candidates instead of building union membership.
Little things like this give us hope that November won't be the disaster it's shaping up to be.

A teacher from the southside was teaching at a northside grade school. She decided that since the Cubs were playing the Sox she thought she'd ask the students what teams the rooted for.
Practically all the students said Cubs. When she asked Little Tommy he replied that he was a Cubs fan. Tired of hearing the same reply she asked him why he was a Cubs fan.
Little Tommy replied "Well I guess I'm a Cubs fan because my parents are Cubs fans!"
The teacher said "How could you root for the Cubs they lose all the time! If your Father was a drug dealer and your mother a whore what would you be than!"
Little Tommy replied "Then I'd be a Sox Fan!"
To bad you Cub fans are hard loosers. If you had a team as good as our WHITE SOX you wouldn't bitch and moan so much. But then again There's always your favorite saying. Wait until next year. Hey guts , grow up. With the Cubs there never will be a next year.

Funny I'm not a baseball fan, but when I watch the news Sox park is always half full and Cubs park is packed.........

How ironic is it that on April 11, 06 Change to Win (CTW)Pres. Anna Burger wrote a letter to Pres. Sweeney of AFL-CIO. What did she want to do? The same things she claimed for the reason's CTW broke away from, along with a new name for all combined. YOU can SMILE Now, the name of her choice, "Alliance For Working Justice".
Sweeney in a professional way said "what ya nuts!" Seems Ms Burger CTW works also on immigration issues's, etc., and needs, well you know money, resources to do legislative, political action. The ole bait and switch scream un-just, just to get a piece of the same pie AS A 3RD PARTY! FOR THE WORKER'S, LOL.
After all their choice for first name ta, da, CHANGE TO WIN. Same game under different FLAG.
Here come the angry Cubs fans again or should I say jealous! They still can't get over the fact that they have a horrible team and the White Sox are World Series Champions! The Cubs will never win the World Series in our lifetime and their owners could care less! They could turn all the seats in the ball park backwards and still draw a crowd! All Cubs fans talk about is attendance..over and over, but will never talk about quality! People go to Cubs games for social events and could care less what the score is. The neighborhood draws the crowd, not the Cubs! Most Cub fans sit in the bar until the third inning before they enter the park and only a 1/4 of the fans could tell you the score, the pitchers, what the Cubs record is, or even what division the Cubs are in. Get over it Cubs fans! Yr team sucks and always will..Another loss tonight in the 9th inning Cubbies!
The Cubs do suck and the Sox do have a great team but the #1 sox fan is Richard "Da Mare". Enough said for me.
